  • zombie fer the win thumbs up if u think so

  • Paperrad rip off. BOO

  • Well you could start by spelling Rihanna's name correctly.

  • way to rip off paperrad homolord

  • This stupid loser ripped off Paperrad, watch 'umbrella zombie mistake' for a much more interesting video with cool codes and glitching

  • zombies doesnt sound anything like umbrella

  • cranberries and dolores o riordan ( the singer ) are much more better than rhiana ...

  • WTF

  • both the songs the eeh eeh eeh eeh are cool :D

  • Dont you notice something?resident evil fans?Umbrella corporation created zombies? So what is this meaning

  • lol.. that was funny now...

  • @swmerka

sweet, i would have missed that.

  • the eh eh eh eh is similar !!!!!!! that's all

  • en resident evil UMBRELLA es la organizacion q causa la vaina esa d los ZOMBIEs aparte como luisji15 dice las 2 stan rebronceadas y por ultimo lo del corito.

  • what the duck?

  • At least Zombie has meaning behind it. Umbrella has none.

  • I remember the first time I heard umbrella in the radio, I was like it's a nice song but the repeating chorus made me think of Zombie (I love the Cranberries ;). I thought I was the only one thinking that

  • Ummm....lol.

  • not close at all...

  • hey can some 1 tell me the name of the last song? plz first is umbrella but idk the other 1

  • Can't you read?

It's in the title AND description: ZOMBIE

  • Zombie is a differrent an ugly song, im sorry Cranberries fans ;)

  • The chords sound a bit similar. i like both songs but the song by the cranberries, zombie is really f'in deep i love that song.

  • J like caw

  • and the "original song"?

Dude, the song wasn't covered or anything. The-Dream wrote that part, and has that ey, ey as his trademark.

  • lol, it's nothing like it

  • I Blike cranberries and I like Rihanna ,..so what ???

  • Umbella is Better...the words are full of deep meaning...

  • WHAT zombie is about war and all the bad things that come with it umbrella is a metaphor for love and that's deep she probably didn't even write it herself.

  • zombie is better

  • this sucked dude

  • i don't see any simaliraty sorry

  • Rihanna did do a remix the beat of Tainted Love for SOS, so I wouldn't be surprised if she did sort of the same here. Maybe?

  • Hey, I just noticed...the beat is similar in the songs too---hmm, I'll guess I'll agree on that. Well, artists sometimes just like a sound so they feel inspired, if that's the case. I think the eh-eh sounds cool, I don't mind two songs with it :)

  • i did always think that there was something very familiar in this ela-ela-eh-eh part. From the first time i have try to find were it is from. This IS close, but not so much than i did remenber.

It is weird to say umbrella in that way. It don't make sense. But yeah Rihanna is good! :)

  • the song's are nothing alike, come on

  • You are right. This video is like saying "Hey, isn't it strange how Blue Oyster Cult used a lot of cowbell in "Don't Fear the Reaper" and Nazareth used a lot of cowbell in "Hair of the Dog"?

    These songs are nothing alike.

  • Lol, I got a fevah...and the ownly pahscription...is more COWBELL!

  • You just made me laugh so hard that beer shot out of my nose....I WAS DRINKING MILK!!!!

  • ......

  • I like those songs :)

Two songs I think that have a similar chorus are No Rain by Blind Melon and Basket Case by Green Day

  • hmm..? Normally, I would reply to you with a feeble attempt at wit....but I am too busy trying to compare those two songs you mentioned....

  • I didn't say they were a lot a like, the chorus' just remind me a little of each other. You didn't hear it? Ah

  • Yeah, I heard it...it is interesting...Still, neither The Cranberries nor Rhianna are the first to use the word "hey" in a song...but I listened to Vanilla Sky's version of the song and was happy!

  • it was the "all I can say is my life is pretty plain" and " I went to a whore, he said my life is a bore ..." parts. Anyway, off topic. I don't think it's a rip off, just coincidence.

  • Living in Japan, I hear alot of Jpop and I hear "coincidences" from time to time...I used to screw around and try to write music and usually, I would have a couple of popular (or obscure) songs I liked in my head and I would start by playing them by ear (often poorly) and joining the two songs and in the process it would become something different and uniquely mine but it might still have a trace or two of the songs that had originally inspired me.

  • I don't think those songs are that similar either apart from the cowbell.

  • I saw a commercial of guy singing these two songs together, I started laughing and wanted to find it again. I didn't get it though

  • lol

eso lo noté desde la primera vez que oí la canción de Rihanna xD

  • These two songs do have something very much in common... they both have extremely annoying lyrics.

  • I don't think these songs have anything to do with each other, sorry. If I use D-A-G-G can someone else use it to do a new song?

  • It does seem that Rihanna ripped some part of her song from The Cranberries. Either way, we all know Rihanna is mainstream shit and The Cranberries are godly.

  • this is definitely not a sample.

  • dolores is the best!! and the only one..

  • Why don't you check how many times people sing "Hey" as "Hey-eee-yay-eee-aaeah-yah?"

  • Better check Apples Garageband: there you can find the complete drum loop C. Tricky Stewart used for umbrella.

  • loop is called Vintage Funk Kit 03, slow the tempo a bit.

About the song... I'm not a fan of this genre, but you gotta acknowledge the kick ass job, it's very good if you hear it from a producer point of view.

This is different from the usual and it still gets flamed!

This isn't plagiarism. Plagiarism is what Timbaland did, someone got cocky and thought everything is a free sample.

If anything, we are all plagiarizing classic composers! Look up Pachelbel rant.

  • come on people, just because they have "eh eh eh" in common doesn't mean rihanna is ripping off the cranberries. you need something more than a trival "eh eh eh" to be a rip off. plus, the meanings of the two songs are totally different; one is a simple pop song, the other can be interepted as political and most definetly serious in nature.

  • it's not?

  • very good!

  • wtf you guys are whack. zombie doesn't sound anything like this song. just cause she says "eh eh eh" in it doesnt mean its a freakin rip off. the rest of the song is completely different.

  • This doesn't mean it's a rip off..

Many songs are like that these days. Some share the same flows, but it's not a bad thing.

  • ok it wasnt Depeche Mode's Presonal Jesus (i dunno i never listen to her stuff!) but she did do the same with Tainted Love by Soft Cell! I'll go now....

  • blatant rip off

  • i noticed this when it first came out and thought "great maybe we'll start hearing zombie again on the radio i quite like that song" i though it was what she did with SOS and Depeche Mode's Personal Jesus, but you're right it's just a blatant rip off.

  • Right on about the steal from the song..... I wondred whether Rihanna's song wasn't written as follows as follows: "hey let's grab this riff from 'zombies'... sing over the top etc.... Hang on what's the name of the zombie producing corporation in Resident Evil? The 'Umbrella" Corp.... there's your lyric babe!"

Rihanna's song is great but I hope the Cranberries are gettin' a piece of the action....

  • i was wondering if anyone else noted the similarity between the two songs.

  • i instantly thought of zombie...

  • Actually she also stole some of their video too, the bodypainted scenes!

  • Yeah, that's true!

  • I recently heard a reggaeton song that sampled the chorus of Zombie. I'll provide you the link when I find it.

  • XanArt21 , richardoconnor ,

    skippypepper4

Exactly what I thought the first time I saw this video: "Holy Molly, 'he he he' sounds exactly like Zombie", and then when they painted the body, the entire video already screamed - stolen from Cranberries.

  • @XanArt21 LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING BITCH! SHE DID'NT STEAL ANYTHING! SO BEFORE YOU GO TALKING SHIT, MAKE SURE AND GET YOUR FUCKING FACTS STRAIGHT!!!!!!1

  • довольно сомнительно. скорей всего, потому что не признаю смешивания дерьма с классикой.
