  • 3:19 who is the artist and what is the painting's name?

  • This song is the whole reason I watched Curdled haha. good movie

  • THIS is why he's not overrated

  • My favorite Slash song. One of my favorite instrumental pieces period, actually. :)

  • niCe..

  • LOVE the fretless bass on this! That with Slash's guitar match JUST right! :)

  • This song was featured on the soundtrack to Curdled. And YES.. this is the one and only Slash.

  • :-)

  • Search for ("gipsy soul" cd) on google images and you'll find the cd review... it IS a Slash song.

  • For those who still thinking it's not slash, here's the album review:

  • Man this song takes me back!

I remember hearing it in 1995

when Club jams was on commercial break!

  • Would be nice if that was Slash It is Jesse Cook

  • @bigdaddydanceman Jesse Cook did Rattle and Burn. Slash did Obsession Confession. Look before you post...

  • see Dave Koz "Getaway"

  • I would like Slash with Marc Antoine ,Norm Brown on the same stage in a outdoor concert that would be live

  • This is what people call "Nuevo Flamenco". Not really traditional Spanish Flamenco, but fusing some of the traditional sounds with modern sounds. It also tends to be a bit "watered down" for commercial purposes, so that it fits more into that "easy listening" category. And I don't mean that in a negative way. A guy who made this style real popular is Ottmar Liebert. Check him out.

  • i heard this song so many times before, but little did i know is was by Slash... that he also played this on a electric acoustic guitar with NYLON strings

  • Awesome music. ...I never get tired of this.

It does sound like Flamenco music to me.

  • he's the godddd

  • poruqeria

  • its jazz?

  • MUY bonito tema

  • this is beautiful, why is there not more??!! I'd buy a whole album of this :) Want more plspls

  • Some jazz influence, definitely some flamenco as well. When I first heard he was doing something like this I figured, great another rocker playing at jazz (a few have transitioned nicely not most). Heard this a half dozen times before learning it was Slash! Kudos and major props to a talented artist. My faves have always been those who can swim in different currents so to speak. Joe Jackson, Larry Carlton, Talk Talk, even SRVs Riviera Paradise. Just love it when real artists flex their muscles!

  • it's like making sweet love to his music...... sooo hott!!

  • ok this beautiful piece i would say is a conglomeration of gypsy jazz sound, the fluidity of classical, and the vibe of flamenco. interesting combination.

  • Wow when i listen to this... its so calming.. and soothing... listen to this while its raining and its nice and cool. =] awesome

  • Slash ? !! okay -- I know slash can do anything with a piece of wood n 6 strings on IT

  • @xxxxgame - Yea Slash can save humanity with his skills. Aliens would come one day to destroy earth and Slash will play for them and they will leave us in peace.

  • amazing =)

  • I love this music!!!

  • when i heard this i couldnt believe that it was slash

  • @BRANDON264 me too i love spanish music and jazz so its my type of song lol

  • Slash OMG This is the strangest thing ever but cool

  • simply amazing i need more of this

  • the ultimate guitarist! He is simply put in a higher class! I love everything he has ever done!!!

  • @newsiemen4u I hear you. I really like his playing and a lot of people aren't aware of the fact that he does other things outside of rock. Although I personally consider Django Reinhardt as the ultimate gutarist :)

  • @ChiTown7721 in terms of riffs and solos written - you gotta love slash. In terms of technical proficiency & mind blowing improvisations, there is still noone to touch Django - 60 years after his death. I've spent years trying to play Improvisation number 1 as he does & still a long way off!

  • Can't recall which exactly, but the beggining of this song reminds me of one of the Alone In The Dark 2 soundtracks.

  • what's the key..? please help.. what scale did he use..?

  • @PusoyMj I reckon a lot of it is D harmonic minor. very strong cliched sound

  • i love this

  • i used to hear this on jazz radio stations....i had no clue this was by Slash

  • @dancinchck i just recognized the harmonic minor licks that he uses pretty much everytime

  • guys guys stop discussing marc anthony, a slah video enjoy slash at what he does best and let marc anthony and j lo go fuck themselves :)

  • best when dancing to it.

  • This is lovely.

I have loved this song for years and all the photos of pictures I love was just a plus. Thanks for putting this together, Baharesk.

  • Can someone tell me where I can download this song? I can't find it in both iTunes and Amazon...

    Thanks

  • send me your email adress and I will send it to you

  • ummm.... just type this into the google engine:

    ( PUT SONG HERE ) .mp3

    Example.

    Obsession Confession.mp3

  • this song explores slash's classical & jazz abilitys as well.

  • This is great! Imagine if Slash and Carlos Santana collaborated.

  • I too have to express my amazement this is SLASH. I have heard this song on The Wave for at least 7 years and identified the artist last night for the first time on SHAZAM. WOW

  • @TheRzarectah

    Exact same story right here

  • slash meets mark anthony, that would be beautiful

  • @XHelsinkiXsixsixsixX

    Do you mean Marc Antoine?

  • @biginpittsburgh

lol, no. j-lo's husband, marc anthony, very famous musician, mostly spanish music. this sounds like a marc anthony song. im gonna check out this marc antoine guy though

  • @XHelsinkiXsixsixsixX

OK. I didn't realize that Marc Anthony was a famous musician. I knew that he was J-Lo's husband and that he had done some acting. Thanks for the heads up...you learn something new every day. And do check out Marc Antoine.. He's my favorite acoustic guitarist and I don't think you'll be disappointed.

  • slash is an amazing artist..I would love to see him play this!! Listening to it makes me feel incredible.....the man is awesome.!!

  • fuck u this is the fukin original track omg

  • ~This Is "Obsession Confession" Written,Composed And Performed By Slash~ :-)

  • Genial!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • great, great song. very nice

  • Marta Sánchez, and Slash wrote this

  • anyone know who the WRITER is of this piece?

  • i think it's slash

  • ermm... slash...

  • This song by Slash is on a compilation cd of very good gypsy guitar instrumentals, called "Gypsy Soul"

  • Comment removed

  • Me gusta mucho esta cancion!

  • e phrygian mode

fun to jam along for sure

  • Brillante, mi guitarrista preferido!!!! uno de ellos ;-) Genious

  • Esta cancion me emociona. Hermosa musica. Slash is awesome.

  • Curdled: Obsession Confession (the films main theme)

  • this song was made with that Marta Sanchez person or something right? And yeah, just so people know, this is Slash for real. It's for a movie soundtrack I'm pretty sure.

  • The Quentin Tarantino film, "Curdled." This is one of my favorite guitar pieces ever.

  • U never can learn to play this perfect

hes the master some people are bourn to entertain some are actors some are singers hes born for the guittar

  • do me a favor please dont go around saying crap like that. he learned just like everyone else.......through practice. there are many better than him and they all had to start with the basics. sure u can be born musically gifted but thats not everyones case. slash is no exception

  • well said.

slash is my favorite guitarist but i agree with you..

he plays great because of practice.

    like everyone else

  • yeah dont sound like such a fag next time

  • anybody know any way to get the backingtrack for this?? i tried to make it myself, that didnt go very well =P

  • BRILLIANT!!! Complicated in complexity! Armada may be a barrier for any one to break no two measures are the same as far as base to rhythm

  • Yep, That's him. That's an artist in manifestation. He can span out in other areas...I love it.

  • this is really slash? omg :D

  • I wont believe Slash wrote this song unless there was some written proof or video with credits with his name on them..is there?? if its tru..right on bro..tho ??

  • If u hear at 4:47 u can hear its slash, its a typical "slash lick"

  • right right,, i hear it..great great song..he should continue this route instead of the same crap thats coming out 2day..to much of the same anymore,,this is his best work

  • geeeezzz...get that ugly mug of the screan..aahhh,, reuins this song and web page..terrible..guys a kook

  • I heard one of my teachers play this song in class. It's very calming.

  • its a nice piece...I remember when I was listening to this on KKSF after the song they said..."Obsession Confession, by Slash from the heavy metal band Guns N' Roses"...I laughed :P

  • I thougth Dali was supposed to be more sort of..."out there" in his work. Cool, always good to learn something new!

  • I agree with the comments regarding the art for this video. Beautiful and they fit the music, job very well done my friend!

  • I called BS on my best bud when he 1st told me he did this. Guess I called it dead-assed wrong! Freaking aswsome and totally unexpected work which he should be proud of and should stand the test of time. I've had more respect for him ever since; my fave artists are those not wearing blinders & stuck in one genre. As with Page, Beck, Lukather, Walsh, Carlton & Claptain Slash's proven he can move where he wants.

If you read this stuff, great piece Slash!

  • i love spanish guitar very nice

  • Truly awesome and beautiful video.

    Peace!!

  • Was a bit surprise when I found out Slash played the spanish guitar in this but then most talented musicians are influenced by many genres. Thought for the longest Marc Antoine had did this piece...it reminded me of his song "Latin Quarter." Both are nice! Love that sound! Nice post!

  • Thanks, I wish Slash would come up with some more of Spanish guitar works:).

  • you cant really say its spanish or jazz its like he mixed the two up to create this beutiful peice

  • Flamenco??? :)

  • @Baharesk I completely agree. the last quarter of double talkin jive has some flamenco stuff if you haven't checked it out.

  • One of my favorite songs, ever!! It reminds me of Griffon at Busch Gardens Europe!!

  • Beautiful art to go with the song. Where are the paintings from? Thanks for putting such a nice piece together.

  • They are mostly Vincent Van Gogh and Salvador Dali...

  • I make a list of the all the others and put it in more info part... thanks

  • You all would think that Slash ONLY played rock? Well, he was taught to play soft, mellow pieces... until Axl Rose asked him to be in Guns N' Roses.

  • Interesting info. Thanks!

  • I love his flamenco playing, he's on one of my Narada flamenco compilation cds!!! I have to admit I was surprised to see him on it, but he does flamenco real good!!!

  • awesome! what album is that? i'm interested in getting it ;-)

  • Main title is: GYPSY SOUL ,new famenco.

  • great! thank you! :)

  • My pleasure:).
