Capitalism doesnt work, socialism doesnt work, and communism doesnt work. So what the fuck works then? The only form of government that ever works is one that is made of people who embody a set of morals and goals that agree with the people. And these officials put the greater interest of the people above their own interests. No "system" of government is really better than another because they are all extremely vulnerable to corruption. That is why you had massive surpluses of goods like grain or chairs in Russia sitting in ware houses, yet the people had no access to these goods. Communism is terrible at allocating resources to where they are needed. That is why capitalism/socialism hybrids work best like Sweden. Communism leads to massive famines like the ones seen in Russia, China and Cuba.

The means of production is directly owned by workers, sort of like what certain facets of the Solidarity Movement wanted. People democratically run their selves without a board of investors or politburo, and goods are produced and traded on a free market. The Mondragon Corporation in Spain is an example that co-operative based labor like this can work on some level.

That is why you had massive surpluses of goods like grain or chairs in Russia sitting in ware houses, yet the people had no access to these goods. Communism is terrible at allocating resources to where they are needed. That is why capitalism/socialism hybrids work best like Sweden. Communism leads to massive famines like the ones seen in Russia, China and Cuba.

However, it has take 200+ years for it to even start happening and the quality of life in America is still very high. I have lived abroad and about half of my friends even in the US are foreigners from Asia, Europe etc. so I have a pretty good idea how American life compares to other countries. In communism you never even have money in your pockets.

Then they promise to provide goods for you but as I have mentioned either that doesn't happen because of corruption or even if they are not corrupt, Communism is so inefficient at allocating goods, you will end up going hungry while there is a warehouse just sitting there full of unused wheat.

@matmasters3 The problem with communism is that it is inefficient in its allocation of resources. Also there is little to no incentive to do the tasks that no one wants to do. Like clean sewers or sort garbage at the landfill. Even if there were no corruption communism would still fail. However like I said I am know hardcore capitalist I think we do need to introduce more socialist measures to provide safety nets and well being to the people of the world.

He had security forces, for example, roaming around at night from hospital to hospital and snatching bodies from the morgues (This is well documented by hospital staff, by the way.) and wounded protestors.
They then dumped these bodies in ditches and claimed they were evidence of "Rebel massacres"
Khadaffi was hiring foreign African mercenaries.

The means of production is directly owned by workers, sort of like what certain facets of the Solidarity Movement wanted. People democratically run their selves without a board of investors or politburo, and goods are produced and traded on a free market. The Mondragon Corporation in Spain is an example that co-operative based labor like this can work on some level.

The reason communism didn't work in places like Cuba, USSR, and China was because they did not make a slow transition to communism. Europe is becoming more and more socialist. @TheMikeRowPhone Regulation is reduced and increased in the wrong areas in the U.S. There is too much regulation and taxation on small local business.....I've grown up one and one that deals in land development at that....so trust me, I've seen it for 20 years...They deregulate and help the big boys do whatever they want, and then piss all over the small companies that run this countries economy...or should and used to anyway.

You cannot point to western European nations as "Socialist"
There's a major, major difference (Believe it or not.. Google it LOL) between "Socialism" and "Democratic Socialism"
They're not just buzzwords, trust me. Western European nations including Canada, Australia etc. are Social Democracies, not Socialist.
That means they implement Social programmes from within' a Capitalist environment..

@ChipsandLAWLsa The reason Western European nations choose "Socialist Democracy" instead of all out Socialism is because the transition is brutal and dangerous.
Time and time again modern, civilized nations have crumbled into complete chaotic anarchy or despotic tyrrany in their attempt change the entire socioeconomic system.
It creates a power vacuum, basically. Best way to describe it. (Read: USSR, Maoist China, hell even the French Revolution.)

@dgabbless it does work in practice, but the limitations are too numerous to implement it to a group no more than 15.

@dgabbless very subjective veiw firstly the only way to talk about human nature is when things happen that shouldnt and when things that should happen dont we are not dertirminded by geniolgy that has been evident for voer 20 years they just give us diffrent ways to aproach situation and enviroment turn on/off certain genes as for communisim well from cuba to china to russia it has worked and complety failed but imagian one capitalist state trying to survive in a world dominated by communism
