The effects of policy on common people cannot be reduced to drops in inflation. Reagan presided over the installation of officially sanctioned avarice. Its called deregulation, and is never good for anyone. Coupled with the dismantlement of social welfare, your notion of progress is backward. Was Iran contra a good thing too?

I'm sorry you don't like facing facts: Inflation went down, employment went up during Reagan. Perhaps you think it's better for people to endure stagflation as they did under Carter. And you would like to white wash that fact with inflation statistics! The 80s inflation drop is no more Reagan's doing, than the actions of OPEC was Carter's. Supply side economics and deregulation fostered bubble economies and temporary employment gains. Reagan is an ideological extreme which found ultimate expression in the Iran-contra affair.

He cut funding for public mental health facilities and treatment, cut CETA funding 3 weeks after taking office, he ignored AIDS his entire presidency, supply side creates bubbles not sustained growth, repealed the fairness doctrine. he tripled the national debt. sure maybe he got rid of marxists in grenada, but his anti communist crusade was horrible for the average latin american.
