  • not a real big deal man , why not become a jets fan ? make a few trips up to Winnipeg to support them , its basically the same team the thrashers would have had. Atlanta needed a change of scenery , not as many fans cared about them , atlanta is more of a baseball town

  • Look at the Thrashers' attendance figures, and then tell me that this sell partly wasn't because of fan support.

  • I wouldn't say it's a sucky day for Atlanta. Most of Atlanta didn't care for the Thrashers. Just look at the attendance. Less than 10,000 fans at some games is just an embarrassment. I bet most of the city doesn't even know they left. Bottomline, they're just weren't enough Thrashers fans like you.

  • I wouldn't say it was a very sucky day for the city of Atlanta losing it's hockey team. The greater majority of the city didn't care about the Thrashers, and probably still don't know that they left.

  • Hey man, sorry for the loss of your favourite team... I would go nuts if I lost my Leafs. Nice upload.

  • dude keep that jersey, never sell it, never lose it, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY DONT LOSE HOPE ON YOUR TEAM COMING BACK. that would be the worst thing to lose.

  • I sympathize with you man. I am a Winnipegger and am happy we have a team again, but it makes me sad that it came at your expense. We lost our team once too due to factors beyond our control, like the low CDN$, bad local economy, old-as-dirt arena, etc. In your case your ownership, management, and economy screwed you over. Don't listen to the haters here. And I don't blame you if you don't follow your team anymore, in my case I have never liked the Coyotes.

  • It should of been Pheonix moving!!! NOT ATLANTA

  • @xClassiK i agree.

  • dear winnipeg

its awesome we have our team back, lets not fuck it up again this time

Sincerely: a Winnipeger who remembers what happened

  • Dear atlanta ..... Thanks for being crappy fans and letting us get a team.... Sincerely Winnipeg

  • i know your a dedicated thrashers fan but be honest the team is better of in winnipeg, the people are crazy about hockey and love the jets. im sure all the old thrashers feel the same way

  • he didnt bash winnipeg at all

  • Have to say I felt bad for the guy until he started bashing Winnipeg for buying the team. Suck it up man, you've been their fan for a fucking year dude.

  • Do you live in Atlanta?

  • thanks Atlanta for great hockey

  • thanx to atlanta for not caring. so the nhl can come back to where it belongs...canada, sorry for the six fans in atlanta who care! lol

  • @errolejb fuck you jackass.

  • @gthyhtujjuk lmfao hehehehehehehehehe

  • @errolejb arrogant faggot

  • your a joke your team was a joke you sound like a zipper head you cant even say calgary youv been a fan for a year i think youl be fine .one you actualy go to winipeg youl see why it left you goof

  • i feel bad for atlanta...same things that the coyotes are going through

its NOT lack of fan support, its lack of decent ownership

yet the trolls in the NHL are too stupid to realize that

to them, when a canadian team moves, its because bettman is ripping away a team from a beloved hockey city, but when a southern team moves, its because they had no fans

  • Sorry about your team bro, I remember losing the jets the first time, hope you still follow your boys on tv in the peg when you get a chance tho!

  • 1:30 yeah, long time of supporting your city's team. Atlanta has now lost a hockey team two times...I'm pretty sure that shitty city won't never ever have a new hockey team. Fuck you guys

  • Atlanta is a big city with a great arena if there was a local owner ship group (which the fact there wasn't one that wanted to keep the team there made them move) that wanted to bring an avalible team there i wouldn't be suprised to see the NHL return to Atlanta i mean the NHL didn't want them to move.Don't loose hope on getting a team back.

  • Yes, it was a shootout. Wheeler was clutch too!

  • Winnipeg is a shit town with fat people and gross women. i hope that place dies

  • The team left because of MANAGEMENT...AND FANS!!! I'm sorry for your loss but Atlanta CANT support an NHL team they've proved it TWICE!! Goodbye Thrashers...HELLOOOOOOOOOO JETS!!!

  • haha Atlanta Spirit JOKES there was none thats why the team Left

  • I'm from Winnipeg, and we love that the Jets are back; the arena is sold out every night and we give the great, young players lots of love here. We lost our team in the 90s, so I totally feel for you. It sucks. But, hey, the "screw you Winnipeg" is a bit uncalled for. We didn't take your team. You didn't have enough fans, and the team was lost just like we lost the Jets in the 90s. And the jerks from Winnipeg posting on here are the minority, trust me. They don't represent me or most 'peggers.

  • Hey dude, just because you team moved on its like life you know, all good things dont last forever but if you just hope you might get a great team, althought you said that atlanta is not a hockey town, you still deserve a team. btw the jets (thrashers as they will always be known to me) are doing well.

  • Cry me a river bud. Come up to Canada so I can eat Kraft dinner and fart in your face guy.

  • @steelcity7 Wow what an asshole, I thought people in Canada were nice

  • @Zachthekingsfan

Nope were all assholes but scott is the biggest asshole, he eats all the kraft dinner and always farts, that scott is a real dick guy

  • I think the fans of Winnipeg have not only been very un-Canadian, but have also blown a chance to help support the team they now have. As one of several THOUSAND Thrashers fans, I find it despicable that fans in Winnipeg not only gloat, but ridicule Atlanta fans.

Folks, you could use the money. Bettman's NHL isn't run off of ticket sales alone. You've alienated potential fans. My son was born in Atlanta, plays mites hockey and wonders why I don't cheer for Winnipeg. I tell him, "They hate."

  • I'm glad Winnipeg has a team back. HOWEVER: I don't think it's appropriate for Jets fans (or others) to come on here and gloat/ridicule the true fans of the Atlanta Thrashers. There may not have been many of them, but to those who really cared about the team, their hearts were ripped out.

  • Winnipeg is way better than Atlanta already

  • you know there is the gwinnet gladiators minor team

  • I really miss the Thrashers. Them moving just makes me wanna cry...

  • Thrasher support from NJ. Go Devils, fuck Winnipeg

  • I'm not hating on you, the Penguins almost left Pittsburgh in 2008. In fact I'm worried that the Pirates might leave soon.. The Jets are just the Thrashers playing in another city. Why not root for them? Winnipeg got another shot at a hockey team, Atlanta may one day to. Think about this: The Jets uniforms are blue ;)

  • Fuck you, Canada deserves a team more than you do in fucking Atlanta, with like 5 other teams. Besides, the players probably enjoy WPG more... I felt bad for you until you made that comment, prick.

  • @TheNorthside613 You're an asshole.

  • @tommyrock69 Bud, I felt bad for him too, until I watched the entire video, did you? The shit this guy says about Winnipeg and Canada is unbelievable.

  • @TheNorthside613 Well, the shit said about Atlanta was totally uncalled for by Jets fans. He's reacting to that. We all were. Totally wrong. We thought we could be friends considering the massive shift that was happening between two cities that had lost NHL teams in the past.

I can understand him losing the team. My son, and only child, was born (in ATL) on what was to be Dan Snyder's next birthday- February 23, 2004. He's now 7 years old and on the mites travel team. He loves the Preds

  • @TheNorthside613 What shit? This guy did not say one bad thing about Canada. Obviously Canadians think they are entitled to every hockey team and that everything is about them. Heres a little hint for you Canadians. Hockey players like living in America than in Canada!

  • A fan for fourteen fucking months and you make this video are you shitting me? Perhaps if Jewland would've coughed up more money you would still have a team...

  • @mrceebees14 I'm an isles fan too but I think we'll stay if we do good this year and we're starting off good

  • you could still follow the jets i mean if you think about it

  • Yeah I know how you feel but chin up! follow but dont hate us. Quebec lost a team, we lost a team, pheonix is about to lose a team, Hartford lost the whalers way back, as you know Atlanta has lost 2 teams. I believe your anger is a little misguided and when it comes right down to it you really dont mean any ill will. My kids met evander kane at their school and are already a big fan of him. we will take good care of what was once yours. in a way it still is yours.

  • HAHA SCREW YOU ASSHOLE

  • screw winnipeg are you stupid.. man i should bitch slap so hard u wouldn't know what hit you at least the jets can sell out the place every game unlike the trashers who sucked ass every season

  • Comment removed

  • And Half alanta is candians you fuckning pussy

  • @FilipKid ya i saw that video. they were just showing their support for their team. Remember when the fans in Montreal booed the American national Anthem when they played Boston to show their support for the habs? it might of been the smartest thing to do but its what they thought they had to do to show how loyal they were to their team. (Boston fans showed great class the next game vs Montreal when they applauded the Canadian national Anthem. Hats off to ya B's fans).

  • Obviously they didnt have support, no one went to the games

  • im not a thrasher fan but i would be devastated if my wild ever moved....

  • hahaha ! Atlanta Thrashers sucked dick, go cry in a corner with that ugly blue jersey pussy

  • I WAS WATCHIG AROUND YOUTUBE 2 PEOPLE EVER CARED ABOUT ALANTA TRASHERS LOL!!!

  • NA NA HEY HEY GOODBYE TRASHERS!! the truth about atalnta they dont have fan support and they dont have money to afford it hockey should never belong the south

  • @FilipKid YOU are a moron. Winnipeg is half the size of Louisville Kentucky. You are piss ant compared to a real city. Call us up when the team is sold to Hamilton. Shithead.

  • LOL!! YOU DONT EVEN KNOW WERE IS WINNIPEG IS ARE YOU THAT RETARDED UMAD!! @tommyrock69

  • @FilipKid What the fuck is wrong with you?

  • Fan then you would still support your team no mater what city they play out of, I did. Time to get off your soap box and come up to Canada to see a WINNIPEG JETS game......oh ya you can't, they are all sold out for the next 5 years....lol.....GO JETS GO!!!!

  • I have every little sympathy for you at all after the smack talk. It's too bad that some of you guys think that the Winnipeg fans are just trying to " rub salt in the wounds" that's not it at all we really truly feel your pain. I used to go to jets games as a kid, and I would save up money all month long doing errands, paper boy money, etc just to see a game. Winnipeg fans rock, let's see if your still wearing your thrasher T's 12 years from now like jets fans did and do. If your truly a hockey

  • @thedigidestined16 thanks man i appreciate that, i stopped writing comments cuz there were so many bad comments which i understand, but glad to know some jets fans think back to how it felt. @princeofdarknessxyz1 im going to keep my jersey i love it and the thrashers were good times here in atlanta its just more of a throwback

  • @atlboy2009 go jets go!!

  • @atlboy2009 From a Winnipeger (I wasnt alive when my team left) The other peggers in this are assholes

  • new experience for me: a thrasher jersey not on a player.

  • Man it obviously sucks how you lost your team but seriously you shouldn't say screw you canadians... we actually love our hockey and even here in ottawa people were excited that we went from 6 teams to 7...and how you said it makes you mad that canadian fans get to watch your thrashers play...k well whenever byfuglien, kane, or ladd goes anywhere in winnipeg they are going to have fans treating them like kings. Dude hockey doesn't work in Atlanta no offense, NFL and MLB are great for Georgia.

  • @atlboy2009 be a preds fan! Go preds!

  • It would have been better if you set you camera down and not hold it making that annoying shaking noise. But despite that I really think that you have showed alot of support for the team and I'm sad to see Atlanta go to but since I'm Canadian I'm Also glad Winnipeg has a team back.

  • move to winnipeg, or at least come up to see a game.

  • GO JETS GO!!!!

ATLANTA LOST THE FLAMES AND THE THRASHERS THAT JUST MEANS THAT HOCKEY IN ATLANTA SUCKS!!!

  • listen up. I am a huge Jets fan always have been. But dont talk trash about the guy he is just saying good bye to his team. Can any of you jets fans remember back to when they left Winnipeg 15 years ago? Well this is how this guy feels.

  • all of us acpeted the pain of it you should seen a video of them burning the banner that says jets go jets @TheDigiDestined16

  • Well I feel your pain but maybe you should of supported the team more, and blame bettman cause he didn't want Phoenix to leave, Atlanta would've moved to Quebec if Phoenix went back home.

  • habs ftw

  • its ok you can cry if you want!!

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, Winnipeg

  • Bro, I understand it hurts to lose a team, sure me being a Hawks fan I know I won't ever lose the Hawks, but it does suck. I'd reccomend moving to a different team. Follow the Caps, or the Canes, or even the Bolts. Stay true to the sport you love.

  • @CesarSnipezz Fuck Bettman.

  • @tommyrock69 FUCK BETTMAN!?!? wel... actually yeah, fuck you bettman. shoulda stayed with the NBA.

  • go jets go...hockey belongs in canada :)

  • @pawel108 Just because hockey originated there, the us had 4 out of the 6 original 6 teams. The US diserves hockey teams also, it just so happens we here in the states have larger markets.

  • @CesarSnipezz yah certain us markets are larger but lets be realistic hockey in florida??? or atlanta lol the only people that actually support these teams are all the snow birds coming from canada that live in florida during the winter months lol.... ive been to games in town such as phoenix anahiem tampa bay florida they cant even sell out and ticket prices are 15 bucks or lower lol try that in canada...you cant even hit up a game in toronto montreal or vancouver lol sold out

  • thrashers could not sell out a game....there was no interest..thats a football baseball city....winnipeg deserves the team...they will sell out every single game...im happy that Winnipeg got its team back...hopefully phoenix is next to go...preferably in Quebec city...

  • Just wondering but why was your first game in 2010 when they had been here since 1999? Just had no means of going prior to 2010?

  • WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA THEY WERE BAD

  • SCREW YOU ATLANTA, WINNIPEG FINALLY GOT BACK WHAT THEY WERE MISSING, THE JETS.

    P.S: YOUR NEXT PHOENIX COYOTES

  • @Ibran8787 No way Florida will move before the dictator Bettmen allows them to move.

  • One last thing, quit saying "We will take care of your team" or something to that effect. It's not my team or any Thrashers' fan team anymore. It is your team. The history of the Thrashers won't be transferred anymore so quit trying to connect the two clubs. I hope that the Jets never taste success. I've been to Winnipeg and it was an OK city but it was too cold and boring. I have since received offers to go back to Winnipeg but I've rejected them all. Not trying to put down the city but jmho.

  • Hey, it really sucks for me being a Thrashers fan and living in Atlanta. I don't know what to do right now I have 3 options.

    1. Switch my support to the Dallas Stars because I'm from Dallas.

    2. Support the Winnipeg Jets. (That's retarded though, why should I support the team when it no longer represents the city).

    3. Stop watching NHL Hockey altogether. Which is most likely my choice and I know my decision won't affect the league. I refuse to support the league for Southern expansion.

  • @Konformation07 The fact is when the NHL came down to Atlanta though they didn't get a large fanbase. It was a loyal fanbase and now the team leaves the fanbase behind which will do nothing but build resentment against the league. It's business and I understand it but don't come down here in the first place. I'm tired of these Winnipeg fans coming onto Thrashers videos and thinking they are showing sympathy but they are really pouring salt in the wound.

  • Also, these people pretty much wanting us to have an AHL team. That's dumb because Atlanta is not Winnipeg and the city won't settle for an AHL team. Atlanta isn't a big sports town let alone hockey town so what makes you think an AHL team can survive. I refuse to support an AHL team. I'm considering burning one of my Thrashers jerseys and putting an R.I.P. wristband with the years of its existence on the left sleeve of my Ilya Kovalchuk signed Thrashers jersey. The only thing I'm keeping.

  • I feel for your loss, same thing happened to us here in Winnipeg. However insulting us, saying things like "Screw you Winnipeg" isn't going to help anything. Who wouldn't be mad, I understand. You have die hard fans, just not enough, bad ownership plays a part too, However you weren't at the intersection of Portage & Main when they said we were getting our team. The city exploded the streets were literally jammed with people. I assure you your team is in good hands.

  • As a ranger fan i do feel somewhat responsible for the tharshers moving because we swept you guys in your only playoff appearence in 07 but if the thashers managed to beat us and move on who knows they might have stayed in atlanta. But hey keep all that thashers gear and memoribilia because in a few years its going to be vintage just like hartford whalers or quebec nordiques stuff is today.

  • (cont.) Both Hartford and Winnipeg had NHL franchises many years ago. And I doubt neither would be reconsidered today for an NHL franchise without supporting the Minor league teams out of principle. If you can believe it and you have a will, there is a way. Peace.

  • (cont.) Minor league hockey is rather affordable compared to the NHL games, and everyone is seeking more affordable entertainment options these days. And yes, the fanbase can be a bit hard to assemble at first. But from this point forward, more people like yourself is needed to love the game first before a city even as large as Atlanta could be entrusted with a big league franchise. The Braves didn't get big overnight. Just follow the examples of Hartford and yes, Winnipeg. (more)

  • Hey man,

I understand how strongly you feel about the Thrashers and I am more than certain that if Atlanta could find a hundred thousand people with your passion, the owners wouldn't think of selling the team. But after all is said and done, the NHL is a business after all.

If I were you, I would start a booster group to attract an AHL franchise to Atlanta. Find others like yourself in your area that is just as passionate about hockey and are willing to support the sport itself. (more)

  • YEA SON WPG JETS BABY! WELCOME TO WINNIPEG.. i remember how it felt to lose the jets before i feel your pain, but i cant helped but be stoked for the jets........... HAHAH YOUR PLAYERS? MOST OF TE TEAM IS CANADIAN NOW. AND THERE WAS NO CHANCE OF YOU GUYS WINNING WITH YOUR MANAGEMENT AND COACHING STAFF. TRUE NORHT RAN ONE OF THE MOST SUCESSFUL AHL FRANCISES IN THE WHOLE LEAGUE, AND PROVIDED MOST OF THE TALENT FOR THE VANCOUVER CANUCKS who won the presidents cup and only failed becuase of luongo

  • @jeffxp13 lol , it wasn't luongo who costed canucks the cup u goof, the whole team never showeed up , your just like the other guys who dont know anything about hockey they just assume by looking at stats and/or just watchin games and seeing the whole team do shit buh since hes the goalie all the blame goes on him eh?, have fun with yur jets makin playoffs cuz thre just as shitty as teh thrashers were, im happy canada got a team but ive seen a lot of jets coments on videos and just calm down!

  • @jeffxp13 whoaa!!! Only failed because of Luongo? Sure that was one of the reasons. Don't forget how the Sedin sisters spent the playoffs diving on the ground and worrying about drawing penalties instead of playing like men! But ya, Go Jets GO!!!!!!

  • @jeffxp13 and how is Winnipeg doing so far? Same as the Thrashers did before they left

  • YEA SON WPG JETS BABY! WELCOME TO WINNIPEG.. i remember how it felt to lose the jets before i feel your pain, but i cant helped but be stoked for the jets

  • This is why people in Atlanta hate Canadians (kidcomplainer)

  • @kayakerguy01 Haha Yea hate an entire country for a 'kids' comment online.

  • Do you even go to 'keep the thrashers' fan page on facebook? Do you know how they talk about people in Winnipeg, like they dont have a class at all? These people are trolls, they can say theyre from Winnipeg or wherever else, but it doesnt mean that they are. Way to keep your class.

  • The sell was because there was hardly fans showing up.. The Thrashers will be well taken care of in Winnipeg i promise.

  • I was with you until you said "screw you guys" to Winnipeg.

I really liked the Atlanta Thrashers, but the fan base wasn't really there for the last couple of years, so I'm very happy to see another Canadian team.

  • kayakerguy01: Maybe instead of bitching to the Canadians, you should strive to get another team built from scratch, here in Atlanta. Or, I hear the Phoenix Coyotes are on thin ice, and they might go up for sale soon. Convince the city leadership that you really want a team, with a decently sized fan backing, and you might get your team back!! Problem solved!!

  • kayakerguy01: Actually I live in Atlanta, but I'm originally from Toronto (obviously)! But come on, this guy in the video is a one year thrashers fan who is complaining about his team moving. Okay, that's understandable, since he likes the game, but he does not have the right to condemn the Canadian fan base for events that were beyond their control and yours!! They do have the right to be excited, since it's a CANADIAN SPORT!!!

  • All these comments from people in Winnipeg, and you wonder why people in Atlanta don't have nice things to say about you?

  • It is too bad for the fans in Atlanta....but im from Winnipeg and we deserve it....

  • Yeah, I feel badly too, since I won't be able to see the Maple Leafs come down to Atlanta ( I've seen games since 2004 @ Philip's Arena). I do want to point out, however, it's unfortunate that you said to the people of Winnipeg to go fuck off. It is obvious that your upset that you lost your team, and you guys had bad ownership/management!! After saying that, you have lost all my sympathy!! It's a Canadian sport, and you only supported this team ten years after they started to play here!!

  • Canada deserves hockey, Winnipeg deserves hockey. Hockey belongs in Canada!

  • @atlboy2009 One last quick comment/question...Were you at the save the Thrashers rally? Were you one of the 200 idiots that burned a beautiful JETS flag?

  • easy to win a contest when you're the only one in it...

  • you first game was in 2010? they went there in '99. come on man and you wonder why??? GO JETS GO!!!!

  • I almost felt bad till the screw you Winnipeg part if you think this is bad try living 12 hours away from any team! I grew up 7 hours north of Winnipeg and still haven't seen a game

  • ohhhhhhhhh what a fuckin douce "i cant cant believe canada gets our players" fuck u

  • Well I'm a flyers fan and I like Winnipeg too, I will enjoy them more than the terrible thrashers , so screw you.

  • @GCITYdrummer811 Come on man, he may not like your team but show a bit of sensitivity for the guy. Wouldn't you be upset if what happened to his team happened to yours (it never will but just think)? Try putting yourself in his shoes.

  • you can still follow your team. just follow the winnipeg jets. same with the nordiques and whalers.

  • they will be missed.... it wont be the same with the gladiators

  • i love that thrasher attire...hell lets make a bonfire and some s'mores b/c thats all its good for now and forever..fire fire fire..hah ill gladly buy the graham crackers marshmallows herseys chocolate..the whole works..

  • It's people like you that make me happy Atlanta moved. Granted, there aren't very many people like you. Its not as though the Thrashers really have a large fanbase to pick fans out of.

  • GOOD RIDDANCE!

  • "I went to my first game in 2010, I hate New York, I hate Philadelphia, I hate Winnipeg, I probably dont even know where those cities are, I hate Canada, it's everybodys fault except for the fans" - atlboy2009

    Yeah yeah. Cool story bro.

  • If it's all about the Atlanta Spirit, first off, who's fault was it the first time around, second, why was nobody interested in buying the Thrashers and keeping them there?

Phoenix has its team because of ownership interest and government funding, so yes, the Thrashers moved because of a lack of support, one way or another.

  • Best Move, hockey belongs in Canada and the Northern US, not the sunbelt. Now, onto Phoenix................vas-y Les Nordiques!

  • Enough with the Canada, Winnipeg hate! Canada just happens to be the country the Thrashers ended up going. Business wise, the team was SOLD to a new ownership group, who then, with NHL Board approval, has the right to move them anywhere. That said, Betman wanted them in Winnipeg before any other city. Winnipeg will support the former Thrashers, so please lay off the haste.

  • Braves and Falcons are going to make a run to the World Series and the Superbowl, so don't worry too much! Atlanta will avenge this loss soon.

  • Sorry for your loss. I do think Atlanta will get a team again, but it will need to build a stronger hockey following. Hockey is very much dependent on gate revenue. So if your team can't sell out all its games it is very hard to survive.

Don't hate Winnipeg. We will take good care of them.

  • You know i kind of felt bad for you until you said screw Winnipeg. How the fuck are you going to build a championship team with no money? Winnipeg has a guaranteed sellout crowd for the first 2 years of the team. I heard they started giving out tickets in Atlanta free of charge... You know your franchise is fucked when that happens. GO JETS GO. GO JETS GO. GO JETS GO. GO JETS GO. GO JETS GO. GO JETS GO. GO JETS GO. GO JETS GO. GO JETS GO. GO JETS GO. GO JETS GO. GO JETS GO. GO JETS GO!

  • i wish Atlanta could keep there team but GO JETS GO GO JETS GO!!!!!!!!

  • and if you were a real fan you would keep on rooting for the jets cuz its the same team except in a new town...

  • your a big fan but you first game you went to was in 2010 wow ...the reason they sold is because they were losing money cuz no one went to the games

  • Thumbs up to FUCK CANADA

  • @STLBlues7373 fail , no thumbs up

  • @DrPepperSnickers3 You can dream on all you want. Winnipeg is a hockey city, whereas Atlanta is a football city.

It's a shame what has become of the orginal Jets; playing in front of sparse crowds in a desert and losing a million dollars a game.

This is where Bettman's Southern hockey dream has bombed!

  • The jets had a proper farewell in 1996. This one is diffrent the last game ever ( a home win vs the pens) everyone didnt know it was the last game. I think they should play one last game in atlanta as the thrashers at the start of next season, just as a farewell game.

  • At least u have tampoun bay and carolina near by. Where winnipeg is theirs not another nhl team for 800 miles ( minnisota wild)

  • go jets go

  • 0:20 I bet 90% of Atlanta has never heard of the thrashers!

  • @Boxingmagnet74 the fact of the matter is that the deep south has never had the weather nor the culture for the game of hockey, the decision to ever put an NHL team down there was stupid from the get-go. I mean do they even have minor hockey in Atlanta?

  • @conday1990 Minor hockey is generally everywhere. They play it in the the desert, why should the South not have hockey? I would have had a little more compassion for the Jets if the Thrashers were here for 20-30 years. They were only back for 12. A little unfair to the city is my opinion. I do appreciate your toned responses, normally when someone like me comments, Jets fans would jump on me and say "fuck off" or use alot of profanity.

  • @BoxingMagnet74 I am not saying they should i am just saying that Canadian cities deserve hockey teams before American cities that don't appreciate them do. Why pre-occupy a hockey franchise that gets no recognition in the city that it is in and only fills 1/4 the seats a night when you can move it to a city aching for one. Would it be fair if Canada had most of the MLB or NFL franchises?

  • @conday1990 I agree with the part that Atlanta didin't have the fanbase, but i'm talking about people saying hockey should be yanked in these places all together. Phoenix should be given credit for making the playoff these past two years. But if hockey started in Las Vegas, and went bankrupt, would you force the NHL to move that franchise to Quebec City or Hamilton?

  • In addition, expansion to more "desert, southern areas", they have proven it can work. The Anaheim Ducks won the cup, and Anaheim is in California. The home of Mickey Mouse. Tampa Bay won the cup, they're in Florida. Dallas Stars, Texas. So if those "southern teams" were able to pull off success, why couldn't the Panthers or the Blue Jackets or the Sharks. I love the Sharks. Hockey may have been founded in Canada, but it's meant to be passed around, not held on to. That's my two cents.

  • @Boxingmagnet74 Any Southern team that doesn't compete is usually among the NHL's biggest money-losers.

This proves that hockey 'fans' in the South are the most fairweather.

The South should not have, nor does it need, NHL teams. In most of the U.S.; hockey receives minor league treatment at best.

  • @Boxingmagnet74, what is cynical about it? Its the truth. Hockey is just as much our game as football and baseball are yours. We did establish our own hockey league, the NHL. The NHL, if you were a true fan, you'd know that it started in Montreal. Atlanta never deserved a professional hockey team in the first place, Thrashers or Flames, and the other cities in the deep south with teams are soon to go the same route. Get over it.

  • @conday1990 If you were a true hockey fan, you'd remember Chicago, Boston and NYR are also original teams that were part of the establishment of the NHL. You can't call dibs on a sport and expect every American team to go up north. It's cynical because you're basically saying hockey is our sport, not America's. If soccer started in Europe, than why do we play it? They're not pounding on the LA Galaxy's door saying "yea, we want a team in Preston and we want yours." That the rep the Jets have.

  • don't keep your hopes up.

  • @DrPepperSnickers3 yeah we are too good for that. Hockey is Canada's game. We want the real deal here in all of our major cities. Not to mention the Moose are in the American Hockey League. They would be better appreciated in America.

  • @conday1990 Well, if cynical thinking such as "Hockey is Canada's game" is in your mind, than why not establish your own hockey league? I have no problem with Winnipeg getting another shot, it's the fans who jump on the Thrashers fans that get to me.

  • @DrPepperSnickers3 Yeah, lol that would be true fan support for you. A city who doesn't have one professional sports franchise and who has been wanting one since they took the last one away. A city who wants a team that is neglected in a city that doesn't appreciate the game of hockey because they are too busy strumming their banjos to enjoy a real game, and who also has all of the other major sports teams anyway. Get over it.

  • you cant really be too pissed at the fans of winnipeg.. come on hockey IS canadas sport. they live breathe eat and sleep it from the time they come out of the womb until their last breath. as much as i dont like canada their passion and intensity for the game is wat makes it a good game. and just think winnipeg knows how you feel theyve been through having their team relocated and this is their chance to prove they can support a team again...sadly atlanta had two chances and blew both.

  • sorry brother i know if someone took the Sabres away from Buffalo we would revolt, I couldnt imagine losing my team I would be devastated

  • Keep strong man, it's nice to see a true Atlanta fan. They'll be back someday, maybe not the same name, but they'll be back (Florida should have gone to Winnipeg).

  • :( much love from the peg, for real fans it sucks, keep it chin up, 15 years ago they said we would never get another team

We will take care of ur team, and ur guys will be loved

  • @nesmoth,@mrceebees14 and @newyorkfan1994srhs, thanks all of you it really does suck loosing this team even with the low fan support the ones of us who did go loved this team and ima miss em i hope you guys never have to go through this

  • @atlboy2009 Being an Isles fan, I have no idea what is going to happen to us. Atlanta is a college sports town, the
