Well, the 12's should hit harder. The subs will hit certain amounts of Hz harder if the distortion rate is up, but you won't be able to hear as many different levels of Hz. Right now, my high pass filter is set to 20Hz and the amp tuned to 50Hz, which means the subs will hit lower (low for 10's, at least; I mean 40-60Hz) levels, but you'll still get some of the bass from even lower notes (30-40Hz) because the high pass filter is set so low.

stay away from the shallowmounts. everyone ive ever sold one to hated them. if you went with the mclass you would have to get more than 2 to make it that loud. m1s are perfect tho, they make awesome bass thats clean and accurate in shallow boxes ported or sealed. if you put those on a mclass 500.1 you would be set and you could always upgrade amps later. theyre 600w peak a piece so eventually if you wanted something like a pr1000 or a mclass1100x1 you could do that too.

Ive owned a Memphis pr15 12', boston G5 12' & kicker cvr 12'- The memphis is nice better than boston but a step below a kicker, memphis bass response isnt the greatest but they will take the punishment with easy! Boston good brand but all there stuff is overpriced, but will last you forever! and kicker crisp bass response, kicker just overall a better sub. but memphis would definetly be my second choice!!

The 10's were hooked up to a PR2.50 amp. They sounded really good. Matched up very well. Plus I had them in a ported enclosure. I don't know much about matching amps to subs though. I got it done at a sound shop. I'd suggest you talk to a local shop to answer your questions though.

I just upgraded the amp and the subs. I'm running 2 12" PR's in a vented box. When I got it done I though they were gonna put me a Memphis S class amp in there but they put in a M class amp! I got a 2 year warranty on the new PR's and I have a 3 year one on the new amp!

I got full credit on the subs, box and amp that I traded in so the upgrade was only $260. I'm planning on upgrading to the M3 subs maybe come summer once I make some more money. haha
