Prophet Muhammad ascended on the "Mriqat" because it was a miracle for him as a Prophet, just as Jesus cured the blind and Moses split the sea, those were Miracles that God gave to the Prophets. Muslims praise Prophet Abraham in every prayer daily, and we consider him to be among the best 5 Prophets. Abraham worshiped God as we Muslims do.

We (creations) need God the creator (Allah). If we worship him it's for our own benefit. But God created hellfire and Paradise, and he promised those who obey Him and worship him by doing the good deeds and helping others, that God will admit them to Paradise! But with modern science we know that different circumstances can cause people to act in certain ways. For instance there was a man who was good his entire life, he got into an accident and hurt his head. He started to have agression problems and ended killing someone because of his brain injury.

l-Imam Abu Hanifah, radiya-l-lahu ^anhu, said in his book (al-Fiqh al-Akbar): Allah ta^ala is seen in the Hereafter. The believers will see Him while they are in Paradise. [They will see Him] without any likeness, ascription, and quantity and there will not be any distance between Him and his creations.

The Isra' and Mi^raj of the Prophet was to show him the great wonders of the creations of Allah and it was not meet with Allah as some claimed. The Prophet saw Allah through his heart, but without a place nor a direction.

One has to believe that Allah be seen in the Hereafter. The believers will see Him while they are in Paradise with the eyes of their heads. They will see Him without a kayf (manner of being), without a place and without a direction.

The prophet, salla-l-lahu ^alayhi wa sallam, said which means: "You will see your Lord on the Day of Judgment. [The seeing is] similar to the seeing of the moon on the night when it is full when you will see it without a doubt" (narrated by Muslim). The prophet, salla-l-lahu ^alayhi wa sallam, likened our seeing to Allah- being a seeing without a doubt- to seeing the moon on the night when it is full. The prophet did not liken Allah to the moon.

So we cannot liken Allah to his creations and attribute to Him a place or a shape or form. The nearness mentioned in al-Qur'an (Fakana Qaba Qawsayni 'Aw Adna) was between Prophet and Jibril as lady ^ayisha clearly stated. Allah is not contained in a place nor direction, Allah existed before the creations, before the directions and the skies and now He exists as he existed without a place.

النبي رأى الله بقلبه النبي كان فوق السماء والله لم يكن في مكان لا في السماء السابعة ولا في الجنة ولا على العرش ولا في جهة. قال رسول الله: "كان الله ولم يكن شىء غيره) وقال سيدنا علي: "كان الله ولا مكان وهو الآن على ما عليه كان" وقال : "ان الله خلق العرش اظهارا لقدرته ولم يتخذه مكانا لذاته". وهذا قول الشافعي ومالك وأحمد وأبو حنيفة رضوان الله عليهم أن الله موجود ليس محدود بمكان. وقال ذو النون المصري احمد بن حنبل: "مهما تصورت ببالك فالله بخلاف ذلك".

So whether someone serves/brings alcohol you or some someone takes you to alcohol, to me is the same. simple logic. but I see people who are muslims, breads up their chest, preyer 5 times, done Hajj, some even are involved in the masjid affairs are doing taxi jobs. Imams are not going to address thses issues to thses people because taxi drivers pay chairities/costs of running masjids. Therefore, I think they dont want to offend them.

Brother, in Islam we don't compromise. Any job, if it pertains assisting others, helping others commit a sin, then it's sinful haram to work. So if the taxi driver assists that passenger to commit a sin, then that driver is also sinful. However I don't' say all Taxi drivers do this. I know some taxi drivers when they get an order to go to a bar or haram place, they reject it or say or park aside saying the car cannot move. Give up that haram part of the job so you don't consume haram money.

Brother, the Prophet said in the Hadith: "there's no obedience to a creation in sinning the creator". This means it's haram to obey or help others commit a sin of any type.

Working as a tax driver is not haram, however, taking someone to drink alcohol to to commit kufur or such is haram because you would be helping others commit that sin. That's very true brother. The Prophet said in the hadith: "Prophet are alive in their graves praying". And so we believe that Allah is able to do anything He wills. And Prophets do benefit us, even after their death by the will of Allah. We can make twassul by them, ask Allah for things by their status and virtue and if Allah wills he will accept our tawassul because of the high status of these Prophets and even the Awliya'. The Prophet himself taught a blind man to made tawassul and was cured.

Dear brother, nothing creates benefit or harm except Allah. But it's wrong to believe that Prophets are dead in their graves and that they do not benefit! Propeht Moses benefited us when he Met Prophet Muhammad in Mi^raj and he advised him to ask to lessen the prayer till they were reduced to 5 prayers.

Prophet Muhammad benefits us as well in his grave as he mentioned in the hadith that if you send salam to me,I receive it and I will reply to your Salam. So Prophets do benefit us, via Tawassul.

Imam an-Nawawiy (who is Ash^ariy, Sufiy) he said in his book al-Majmoo^ volume 8/274 in the book of "Descripiton of Pilgrimage" chapter: Visiting the Grave of the Prophet, he said:

"And then he (the visitor of the Prophet's grave) goes back to his first stand towards the face of the Prophet sallalahu ^alayhi wa sallam and makes Tawassul by Him (asks Allah by the Prophet) and asks for intercession by Him (the Prophet) to Allah".

The night journey and the ascention was by body and soul without a doubt.

which means: [Praise be to Allah Who enabled His slave, Muhammad, to make the journey at night from Masjid al-Haram in Makkah to Masjid al-Aqsa in Jerusalem, which is surrounded a blessed land.]

This journey is also confirmed in the sahih hadith. So there is scholarly consensus (ijma^) Prophet Muhammad journeyed in body and soul the night of al-Isra' from Masjid al-Haram in Makkah to Masjid al-Aqsain Jerusalem.

Paradise is above the seventh heaven, it's not attached to it, it's higher above it. Above Paradise is the ^arsh, throne. The Throne is not a seat for Allah as jews and christians and wahhabis claim!! Allah existed before the throne and before time and place, and now He exists as He always existed without a place.
