So good to hear this. Had the vinyl but lent it out (!). Anybody have Catch That on the Corner? One of the classics, along with Just Don't make No sense.
I haven't heard this since, i cant even remember when. We forget how much we owe melvin van peebles, what a trail blazer. Thanks for posting this . never thought to look for it here., what a long shot. I was looking for Superfly.
the one possible thing a person could want to hear was William Shatner doin this back when he was ROCKET MAN. alas, too late, the time has run like the relentless river it is, and a splendid opportunity is no more.
When my Sisters and I were kids/teenagers growing up in the 60's in the SF Bay Area, this was one of our favorite Albums. I'm so glad that I found this. Now, I can share it with my Husband, I've told him about this tune so many times.
One of my desert island disks, "Brer Soul". It was put out on CD in the UK about fifteen years ago, but it doesn't have those dear scratches I know so well from the million plays :-)
I think you're the only person to post anything from the original "Brer Soul-Free Huey" album from 1969. I still have the album (a bit war torn) but playable.
