The whole black hole thing never made any sence to any one who knew what they actually are. Becoming a black hole does not increase its gravity! it only allows you to get closer to the center where the gravity is smaller. so if the sun turned into a black hole now the earth would carry on orbiting as usual.
HIGHLY doubtful considering that a prerequisite for a black hole to form is a super nova...or an insane loss off mass over an insanely short amount of time
I didnt say "see the black hole" i said found and i know this since light canot escape the black hole and it is proof because if it was just something massive like a super red giant we would be able to actualy see it unlike a black hole that any light would just be absorved
@Luis568369 you can't actually see the black hole, dolt. If anything, the telescope found an accretion disk, a swirling x-ray-emitting frenzy of superheated gases, which is generally thought to be a good indicator of a black hole. it's not conclusive proof, though it does show us that there's something really heavy in the vicinity.
If microblack holes destroyed the Earth, we'd be dead already. Our outer atmosphere produces vast quantities of microblack holes all the time due to it's interaction with radiation from the cosmos and our atmosphere.
You know what really annoys me is when you say to someone "How are you today?" (strictly out of courtesy) and then they proceed to tell you there entire miserable life story... I get that at work a lot..
@LostDreamStolenNight Throw them off next time ask them 'how aren't you today" see what happens dude but i gotta warn ya some people cant take the overload takes them a second to catch it.
the complete mass of the earth would have to be compressed to the size of a marble to be a black hole. and the event horizon wouldnt even suck the light away that is being bounced off the moon. unless the theory that matter cannot be either created nor destroyed is wrong, which is a 99.99999999999999999%, we have nothing to worry about.
funny how atoms and molecules "smash" during a chemical reaction and no mini black holes yet.. still waiting so i can crawl/jump through that worm hole to land/fall in that white hole... if it doesn't kill me of course!
According to Wikipedia, "strangelets" are less likely to form in a high energy accelerator than a low energy accelerator, so the LHC presents less of a risk than its predecessors. The 1/50,000,000 figure is from Martin Rees...it's not the figure in general circulation which is "astronomically small" or similar, simply someone's opinion.
That was considerably better than the "darwinian design" video...you've restored my opinion of your scientific commentary somewhat. Time to examine some genomes now, and then, i hope, have the "oh so evolution really did happen" moment which inevitably happens to anyone that examines genomes.
I think you're asking whether a tiny black hole would exert strong gravity. You're right, it wouldn't. The fear is that
1. If the tiny black hole can exist
2. If it doesn't disappear
3. If its velocity is slow enough to keep it in the Earth
it could absorb the Earth to the point that it is a danger.
That said, the fear is ludicrous. No serious physicist is afraid of the LHC. If it could happen, the Sun would be looong gone. (The Sun collides energetic protons all the time.)
the thing that stinks is that the electronics got damaged last time it was fired, and they've decided to stop using it's full potential until they've figured out a way to make it less delicate.
even at half power though, it's more powerful than any previous accelerator...
The "END OF THE WORLD" scenario was created by sensationalists who simply want attention and fame. The arguments they make are completely baseless and ungrounded. For example, the most popular argument "mini-black holes" is taken from a theory that goes on to state IN THE SAME THEORY that if those black hole are created, they would immediatly disappear without causing any harm.
You cant just take one part of a theory and ignore the rest of it.

It says in Genesis, in the begining GOD created the Heavens and the Earth. That means it was all done....then it says the Earth was without form and void and the surface of the deep was dark. Before God put life on Earth it says that it 'was'...that means it was there...it had a surface. The sun and moon and stars were all in place in a week. If God did create us then this should not be suprising. that he can put us together in a week.

Idiot. For the one person that won its the same. The simple fact that they are looking for unaccounted loss of energy isn't even close to proving that that energy was lost to other dimensions.
Here's how they estimate it - the events are not unprecedented. Just look in to astroparticle physics and you'll find that events far more energetic than the LHC will make happen relatively 'frequently,' compared to the age of the earth, in our atmosphere. Well put together vid. I personally think
this is an exercise in futility and a ton

Ok so we figure out how to create a universe...We can't build one here.
Where does one propose to fit it?
In the begining God created the
heavens and the Earth.
Thre I just save you clowns another trillion
volts of electricity. Now...break this garbage heap down, sell it for scrap and feed the poor.
Let solve the real problems on this planet first.

Religion? Im not talking about religion here.
You cant fit God inside of religion. This
is probably why religion is so laughable.
God does not desire religion, ritual, sacrifice....He desires mercy...
feed the poor, heal the sick, father
the fatherless, shelter the homeless.
Doing what God wants has NEVER failed sociecty. I do not mean what releigion want, but what God wants.
You want to donate you hard earned money on nonsene, then be my guest.
I should not have to.
