  • I can understand why everyone says he has a south african accent its because in the movie he uses south african phrases, and bad words e.g 'doos' thats very S.A if you want to call somebody a bad name or 'howzit' like how are you doing. This is the best scene, having lived away from Africa for so many years, i felt pure nostalgia of my childhood growing up in Africa, the Drakensberg mountains, the African sky when it lights up into shades of red, and the amazing landscape...sigh..:)

  • I can't believe Leo hasn't won an oscar yet. And the guy who played Solomen should have won too...

  • Amazing film! Had to purchase it!

  • God DAMN, Leo is so good. It pisses me off that he's never won an Oscar.

  • Academy what is wrong with you, Leo deserves a freaking oscar already -_-

  • Ulrich Mühe in The Lives of Others deserved it more that year.

  • It's bullshit that he hasn't won an Oscar.

  • makes me proud to be South African ...

  • did they manage to get the best picture in academy awards

  • Why are there only diamond...I mean platinum deposits in Africa and Russia...? The worlds platinum supply is so finite...it would be equivalent to only 25% of the worldwide gold supply...But, why do all the really good emeralds have to come from Brazil?!!!

  • I do not think it is a great actor-but here is the excellent performance as Danny. But performance from Djimon Hounsou-ist really great-wie one vulkan and full of emotions.

Great Performance:great ton:impressive Movie and topic: Landscapes in the film-O MY GOD : and FUCKING GOD MUSIC-WOW-WOW-WOW-WOW-WOW x 10000000000000000....

  • @anubora You must be dumb as fuck if you don't think Dicaprio's a great actor.

  • @knockout01

    Leonardo ist good-but not GREAT actor.As a great actor-" T.Spencer =J.Cagney=H.Bogart=J. Nicholsen= D.Hofman=D. Day-Lewis=Peter O’Toole=Robin Williams......This is GREAT,a Leonardo is "INFANT"..has the potential.

    And as you're smart-see it in you "VOCABULARY"-Big EGO-a small,small,small brain.

    Hosen scheisser .

  • @anubora Um your vocabulary and sentence structure seems much more fucked to me.

  • amazing scene

  • one of the best scenes than i had see

  • 1 of the best movies ever

  • LEO deserves the Oscar>

  • The piano at 3.00 makes this scene to the top 5 scenes ever! Also the movie is top 5 ever for sure...poll lists just underrate this movie a lot!

  • Leo aces the accent. I lived in Rhodesia, and we all sounded just like that. It is a different accent from English-speaking South African, and Rhodesians are no more like South Africans than Canadians are like Americans. Excellent movie.

  • @Mabelreign what the fuc a canadian

  • Pffft like HE even needs one of your crappy trophies Academy

  • this scene was so emotional, really made me sad with the background music

  • It always upsets me when Dicaprio's character dies or is hurt

  • It always upsets me to see Dicaprio's character be hurt or die :(

  • What else does Leonardo DiCaprio need to do to get an Oscar?!

  • @OnRockIT I'm hopping he get it for his performance in J. Edgar Hoover.

  • This movie makes me cry silent tears multiple times, it's so beautiful seeing Dicaprio's character evolve into a loving person as the tragedies he witnesses begin to mount and overwhelm his diseased mind, Dea and Solomon's unbreakable relationship, the passion and love portrayed by these characters is something that i've seen matched very few times in any movie. I'm convinced this isn't just a blockbuster with a message.

  • Best actor in hollywood.

  • What I liked about this movie is that even though Archer and that girl had a romantic tension between them, the director made it as realistic as possible to let them keep to their limits unlike in other movies one long stare, and the next scene you see both of them in bed

  • T.I.A = This Is Africa, right bruh.

  • respect

  • too bad if she forgot where she was supossed to meet him lols

  • i love him soo much, this is one of my favourite movies!

  • his acting made the film awesome

  • I will never buy a fuckin' diamond. Unless it was mined in Canada.

  • @cjcool91 God Save the Queen

  • @cjcool91 i feel the same way

  • wow that is probably the most beautiful place to die :')

  • brilliant work! his south african accent is perfect.

  • how many girls got wet from this movie lol funny thing im an Archer and i loved the movie

  • Exselent scene!

  • I have to admit my familiarity with the Rhodesian accent is scant at best. However, I suspect Leo has does an admirable job of what sounds to be a very difficult accent to learn. I usually can hear someone's accent and say to myself, "he/she is from HERE"; however, this region is very distinctive and difficult to ascertain. To be frank, here in Washington we seldom come upon it...

  • I'm exactly where I'm supossed to be

  • kudos to 3:18

  • CCA C'est Ca L'AFRIQUE !!!!! RIP Danny Archer

  • @Mrmontgommeryburns He wasn't a real person.

  • @TheSouthernPsycho haha I know i know

  • This entire movie is a string of excellent scenes.

  • No dislikes, i am not suprised..........

    Because of Danny Archer mainly

  • Every time I see this scene i cry. And not just the I'm "sad" crying. It's not the pretty crying you see in movies. Its the kind where you make weird noises, and your nose gets stuffed, and you shake because your so upset. Every single time. This movie is such a masterpiece, and I'm glad to have seen it in my lifetime. I would recommend this movie to anyone.

  • man i have cried so many times to this scene

  • i think this is like the only death scene through a phone call, it makes me sad :(

  • 0:59>> "little problem" >>? What is he talking about>>?! Silly!

  • this is by far one of the most powerful death scenes i've ever seen in a movie. its gut wrenching and tragic but at the same time it leaves me happy that they ended archer's story like this as it makes it all the more meaningful and fitting given archer's byronic hero personality. lastly i like how the scene touched back on the shona legend from earlier and that africa's soil is red from blood of all the war and how archer accepts that africa really is where he belongs

  • @Aeetos One of the best comment I ever have seen, because it's all so true. Let that comment be top comment damn it

  • aaayayaye !! ( tht(s all i can say right now )

  • Leonardo DiCaprio does the dying scenes better than anybody!

  • @StackedDex Better than the one in gladiator? Cause i think they both do it good.

  • @Armadyl1992 yeah i guess soo. lol but i only liked russel crows gladiator movie. like for instance the new robin hood was pretty crap dont you agree.

  • @StackedDex No way! Michael Jackson defiantly dose the best! Man he dos it so good, he goes as far a overdosing to make it look convincing! XD!

  • @TheSouthernPsycho hahahahaha

  • by far, the greatest movie ending ever!

  • he shoud have gotten the oscar brilliant acting...

  • He acted circles around Whitaker...not cool Academy

  • @mistamistaladyisdead are you nuts?

  • @mistamistaladyisdead two different movies, two different roles, they both did a respectable job in their roles, as a South African i was amazed at how Leo played out the role, if i didnt know it was him I woulda thought he was a real Boer, Forest Whitaker did an amazing job as Idi Amin, he was on point

  • Damn it, this scene gets me every time. The only reason I didn't cry while watching was because we were watching the movie with the whole class. Stunning film.

  • I am really happy that I have watched this film .
