I have seen a 2x2 magnet cube,but held together strangely.techniccally, i only have plans for it,but its 8 pieces that are perfect cubes of clay with corners nicked off and went over with magnet tape on that corner,and the exact size to rotate aroung an octahedron in the middle,so they all rotate around 1 figure,not each other.and opposit corners have same polarities,for balance.the front,left,top cubehas a nick out of it on the back,right,bottom corner of it self and the back right bottom(cont)

I think the dice have to be 19mm to make a standard rubik's cube so make 19mm wooden cubes. :)
