@HankIsAwsome No, they are NOT gay. They were former rivals of the late mother, and either one of them could be the father of the child. So..they become together under one roof to parent the child. Seriously...pay attention
ya,to below,i think they did decide they didn;t want to know,i think it was towards the end. and remember all this csi stuff is really recent in dna testing-we didnt have it in 1994! we had a glove.
ok people this show was NOT about two gay dads..although who cares it if would have been it was NOT. it was about two straight dads who didnt know who was the father of nicole and they were made to both take care of her until they learned who was the father.
I used to love this show. They had the coolest furniture. I put up with horrible years of step by step because of my attachment to this show... seems cheesy now.
And to the below... I thought they did have a paternity test episode and it didn't pan out, or they didn't wanna know.
This was a great series, man. See why back then was SO much better than today? Today they would be labeled as "gay". Absolutely ridiculous. Take me back to the FABULOUS 1980's.
My two dad follows a very simple sitcom formula; CONFLICT. . . that is what makes a good sitcom; Will and Grace were so successful because it was written with the ultimate conflict- two characters that loved each other, but could never have a sexual relationship.
M2D's was a great sitcom for it's time; Wish I could have "Joey's" hair. . .
If you want to see a REAL sitcom with gay charachters (sp?) youtube brothers ep 1
My Two Dads Gay? Of coarse they are. . .in TODAYS terms; back then ~ no; problem is we are watching a sitcom by TODAY"S standards after will and grace; and of coarse everything revolves around sex today- so there is an underlying gay theme in EVERYTHING through todays eyes.
Why are their so many comments about this show having an underlying gay theme?!
Watch ANY episode of this series (especially the first), they are not gay, they are incredibly straight! (hence all the pig-headed fights...)
It's like saying Felix and Oscar of the Odd Couple were gay just because they were two men living together...
Besides, no one in the 80's was that openly gay on TV... Thats why all cartoon characters were so... well... *cough cough* Liono, He-Man, all the smurfs!
Today's paternity tests make this show totally unlikely now. The idea that they'd both have to raise her cuz it's inconclusive which of them is the father seems silly... That issue has been totally ended by the Maury show! :P
OMG! I didn't know you had My Two Days minisodes thanks! Paul Reiser would go to be in Mad About Your (a good show) and Staci Keanan Step By Step! thanks!

keyholder, i know you're not fooling anyone. you're that foolish person formally known as worldtitle. why dont you grow the hell up and leave shadeed329 alone. we have already kicked you off before, we can do it again.
I don't know what a "worldtitle" is, so you can't "kick me off again", since I've never been kicked off before. I was just expressing my opinion and trying to help, which is within guidelines here. The person asked how long the show was on, not who produced it. You really need to get your life together, because you are wasting it clean.
was there an episode where nicole and her friend were trying to make their boobs bigger?

sub-text is so same-sex. family harmony? the rationale for them to raise a girl together is ridiculous.

If this were done today "My Two Dads" would take on a WHOLE new meaning.
Side Note: Greg Evigan and those tight jeans gave my 12 year old mind the sickest thoghts.

Wow, how much crack were pople smoking in the 80s?

Maybe that's why Paul Reiser and Helen Hunt had so much trouble getting pregnant during Mad About You.

Wow, so I guess that would also explain why Paul Riser wrote "Couplehood."

This is just a barely concealed plot about a gay couple, like threes company was a barely concealed plot about swingers.
Still funny though. How come we don't have crazy ideas like this for sitcoms anymore?
