Logic dictates that I should dislike this video, for the sheer sadness that this video brings me everytime I watch I watch it (everyday), and the fact that BNL is minus Page... but I love this song, I love this band, and I will continue to watch this. Forever.

When he does the intro, can anyone tell me why/whats the purpose/whats it called when he taps the strings? I know its called hammering but i guess my question is what is he accomplishing there?

@clamman87 it produces an emphasis on those notes--usually bass notes--that normally would have been produced by a bass guitar. it's not as easy as it looks either!
