you're both wrong, live is a different sound that is sometimes preferred; but to your point yes there is some bands/artists that can't play anything without it being heavily edited in the studio.
I never gave these guys a chance backk in the day because of that chicity china chinese chicken song and because they are Canadian. Now that I'm older I'm beginning to realize they are pretty friggin awesome, so much time wasted
I saw BNL a bunch of times before my kids were born. Then life got in the way and I drifted away. Finding these videos is like coming home to an old friend.
Logic dictates that I should dislike this video, for the sheer sadness that this video brings me everytime I watch I watch it (everyday), and the fact that BNL is minus Page... but I love this song, I love this band, and I will continue to watch this. Forever.
I can tell you BNL is a great band for one reason: I don't even like them, and yet three of these vids are now in favorites. That's the mark of a good musician.
When he does the intro, can anyone tell me why/whats the purpose/whats it called when he taps the strings? I know its called hammering but i guess my question is what is he accomplishing there?
@clamman87 it produces an emphasis on those notes--usually bass notes--that normally would have been produced by a bass guitar. it's not as easy as it looks either!
He adds so much to the chords >.< Its so hard to figure everything out and play it (for me) but gat damn does it sound good...can't get enough of this song
I have been listening to BNL since before I can remember and now im 19 and they are still one of my favorite bands. BNL are a band that will stay with me through my entire life!
I spent most of my summer hanging out in my room singing along to "stunt" for the first time since I was about five! My mom stole it. and moved away. SADFACE (That the CD is gone)
@skipplet you nailed it dude--they have the skill and the musical ability to sound good unaltered--don't NEED to use autotuners or computer enhancements
you know what? these sessions were my first encounter with bnl and it was only later when i searched for studio versions or videos to get to know more about them.. i can't help it i enjoy this more. if i feel like hearing some of their songs it bathroom sessions i'll put on.
Just like mama ues to make lol, nah extremely poinent videos of why the BNL and Eddie are still ontop of their game its just sad that its only the manufactured bands that seem to get the attention of the masses when it should be the creative people who acctually have to apply themselves body/soul/mind/spirit etc (you get my point).
finally a reason to goto the bathroom uther than to hide from the wife.
These vids are a gold mine! What a great concept! This is how you stay in touch with your fans. This is great if your a musician or just an avid fan. Keep on posting them cause they are awesome!
I am a totally new fan, so I still have a lot of material to experience. But damn, Ed (and the rest of you guys - including Steve of course), you totally rock. Take that from a fellow professional artist. :)
Music shopping to follow soon, no doubt about that.
Good choice my friend, I have been a fan of these guys for about 8-9 years now, and I have all their albums, If I could make a suggestion, make sure to get Maybe You Should Drive, great album
Ed, again, thank you for being you. It's worth more joy and reflection than you know. Still hoping to hear "When I Fall" (With the alternate "blow me" line).
This is one of my favorite songs to sing along with. Thanks for posting it! You guys should really consider releasing an "unplugged" CD. I can't get over how great these songs sound all stripped down like this.
On the DVD that came with the special edition of "Everything To Everyone" there was an acoustic version of the album. I finally got around to ripping it so I could listen to it more regularly. Totally excellent!
Ed I just love you! Like so many others, I'm obsessed with these(but in a good way. Now get Steve back in there and maybe we could hear Call and Answer. Thanks so much for sharing your gifts with us.
You are too cool. I'm glad I discovered you guys. Sheesh.. I was trapped in the 80s listening to one hit wonders. First the Beatles, now the BNL, lucky me...

@clamman87 It's basically just an arpeggiated E chord with hammer ons
