  • i like the tooth brush idea though.

  • first of all you need to know your solvents from your lubricants you use your solvents to remove led and gun powder residue and the you use your lub to make the parts move together easier. the solvent for the inside of the slide and the barrel and feed ramp. the lube i use on every part except the fireing pin. pepole say not to put to much lub inside but ive never had a problem. dont make it till its soping wet with oil just till everything has a nice shine

  • Well, you don't know the terms for the parts, but you know how to take it apart though! Is the Recoil Spring metal or plastic?

  • MAGAZINE!!!!! not a clip

  • Nice to see a good demo with a gun that is actually dirty. So many folks clean their clean pistols on youtube and skimp on some parts. Thanks.

  • I know this is an old video but, I like the fact that you informed viewers that you are new to handguns and don't know a lot but learning more everyday. Its makes other new owners feel a little more confident because they are watching someone in the same boat cleaning their gun and making a good comical video at the same time. I just don't like when people who purchased a couple handguns and think they know more than the average gun owner. Cool video though

  • I own the subcompact version of this weapon. It's my weapon of choice as a edc. Awesome video learned alot thanks

  • the xdm is newer but the the main differences between the two are with the xdm it has the match grade barrel, the grip texture is a bit different and removable backstraps, and the trigger reset is a tad bit shorter

  • This may be a stupid question but what is the difference between a XDm 40 and a XD 40? is one older than the other? From what I can tell they look different to me. Someone please explain.

  • @spaceace78801 the xdm is newer but the the main differences between the two are with the xdm it has the match grade barrel, the grip texture is a bit different and removable backstraps, and the trigger reset is a tad bit shorter

  • @de66228 which would be better to carry? Are they the about the same size?

  • @spaceace78801

The first and foremost difference that most people see is that the XDm holds 16 rounds vs the standard XD holds 12. Everyone else is corrent as well though...there are small differences here and there

  • Pretty Dirty from only a little shooting

  • his ass was NERVOUS to pull that trigger!

  • NICE SHOCKER FROM 0.39 TO 1.02 LMAO!!!

  • Never scrub back and forward inside your barrel with those wired bristle brushes push it through unscrew it and push it back through the back end never scrub back and forward you'll mess up your bore for your weapon.

  • you dont need to use solvent very time, solvent is used for knocking out lots of powder residue i shot 200 rounds and didnt need solvent just oil and a good wipe down

  • I sure hope that isn't a brass brush your using because if you change direction while your inside the barrel like that you will mess your barrel all up. Its ok if its nylon but if its brass then that is no good.

  • no..thank you for listening

  • can you adjust those sights? if so how?

  • There's a little indicator on top, too, which shows whether or not there's a round in the chamber. It sticks up at a 10 degree or so angle when there's a round in in there.

  • The quickest and most effective way to clean the XD components is to use Birchwood Casey's "Gun Scrubber". This is a solvent that blasts everything off the gun. It will essentially strip it down to the bare metal. Next use a re-blueing product. Then spray a little Remington Rem oil on it and it is ready to go. Your gun will be cleaner than ever and will look brand new!!

  • you dont know crap about guns. you arent even cleaning the barrel properly......anyways good luck with your technique.

  • nobody care about all that bullshit you are talking about in the beginning just clean the damm weapon

  • visit the armory channel

  • great video. I suggest using Q-tips also. They are excellent for hard to reach places on your gun. We use them in the Army.

  • I've always been told never oil your barrel. The powder can stick easy, causing build up.

  • great video, the xd 40 is a dam fine weapon.

  • exellent video great job

  • Pretty thorough video. If you don't mind, I'll point out a few things. Though I have never owned an XD, I own and shoot plenty of Sigs and Glocks and the two things I would point out are that you should not reverse the bore brush mid barrel. You want to go all the way through and back. If you're using a nylon bristle bore brush then this isn't as important, but its something I was always tought. The second thing is that I'd recommend cleaning the feed ramp as it can get very built up with carbon

  • Five stars for the video. The backdrop is nice and clean and easy to see what you're doing. :)

  • I dont know if you've seen the bore snakes by hoppe's but they make cleaning pretty easy. I use if on my xd 40, it really cuts down on time.

  • thorough vid, going to watch 2 now...
