I really don't know, sorry. Originally the video was put to "King Kong" by Jibbs but YouTube banned it and I randomly picked this from their list of acceptable songs. I can't remember how to get to it now. lol
Sweet! Would love to sit in on that! Amp power and the box build are what I focus on mostly. I know from experience you can take crappy subs and make them sound decent if the box is built right. You build your self?
i got 2 12" hifonics HFi's in a custom built box and im pretty sure im putting over 100db with the new headunit and re tuning the amp after breaking in the subs... im hittin bout as hard as my friend with two type Rs... not quite there, but then again he spent over 700 on his system and with the new head im still under 500.
i like the blazer im running 2-12''s mojo's in a 2000 s-10 blazer street b build 148.1 @43hz 3200watts on the tl i hope to get a 150 out of it @43 hz with more power i will be in db drag next year tuned @52hz hope to get it up to a 155@50hz on 5200 watts . any tips!!??
True. We run 0 g. wire from battery anyways...actually three of them. We had to drill into the underside of the frame to fit the bundle of three 0g wires.
Yes it is extremely hard to do. And if I had done the four 15's in that Blazer I think we could have done it but the Blazer is dead and I'm no longer interested in blowing glass out of my new Expedition. lol I am aiming for the high 150's to 160 db this time though with two 15's. We'll see. Half the fun is trying different things, right?
In the Blazer we ran a beefed-up 375 amp altenator. I'm looking for someone to rebuild the alt in the Expedition now. Now worries about amp draw and no need for caps either. We run a deep cycle under the hood and a 2400 Kinetik along with the altenator. Plenty of power!
yes but you can make your AMP draw more power... its not necessarily an absence of power that makes you draw less, but lack of battery grounding and wire thickness from the Alt to the Batt.
congrats. Coming from a fellow compeditor wiht a 98 chevy blazer. Did you ever compete with those trim panels off? cause that is or would be hurting your score. i'm not bashing, i'm just asking. one question from a fellow compeditor to another
No we didn't. And I had NO sound deadener in either. That might've gotten me another db or so. But the Blazer is long gone (although the box is for sale now-lol). I traded it in for a 2005 Ford Expedition...planning for two 15's now. =)
OK if you say so. #1 I'm not a "dude" as everyone else here as figured out. #2 I took First Place in EVERY show EXCEPT World FInals where I took 2nd and only by 2.2 db! So if those are NOT good scores for THIS system, what the hell is?
Thanks! I recently hit 153.7 with the four 12's, my highest score to date. Hoping for 160 when I rebuild for 2009. And yeah, we need fmor LADIES in the sport. lol I'm always the only female in my area.
look i hade 5fi subs thare the best subs!

those subs would put out more than 100db if you ran them off a headunit so you should be doing 130's

yeah, and id recommend trying EXOcontralto's (spelling?) Big 3 to get your amp to pull 15 volts rather than 10-12.

We used a potentiometer to adjust the voltage.

agreed. I just bought two DD 15's for my Expedition. Will start box building this weekend.
