@97supernintendo Thank you very much :) I've been playing guitar for 6 years now. I've had 6 years of (electric) guitar lessons and/but learned a LOT too through the internet/youtube/tabs/etc. Picking up songs is always different but I mostly do it by ear. The more you do it, the easier it gets and the better YOU get! Happy playing :)
@MrMads9201 not sure what the first thing he played (after the intonation check), but the second riff was the bass line from 'Cmon Talk' by Bernhoft, and the fourth thing he played (bass and acoustic strings together) was from Bernhoft's 'Choices'
nice man ... I ve been lookin for this info this past 3 weeks and found nothing... so couple of questions if u dont mind. First, why do u use Flatwound strings, there´s any difference with normal acoustic bass strings or it´s just a brand ? Will it work in any normal acoustic guitar, or I nedd a bolt on neck as this eko has ? ... thx and good job man, hope to hear that soon !!!!!
@openmind1984 Thanks! Flatwound bass strings (brand: Thomastik-Infeld JF344) are different than normal because they have a ribbon-like winding. They feel smooth, make little finger noise and sound very nice and mellow. It won't work on just any acoustic guitar. This guitar lends itself perfectly because the same neck was used for twelve string models (with more tension), it has a bolt-on neck and it has a truss rod. Any other guitar might just end up completely warped... ;-)
@TwanBraccoG well, I m gonna try to find and old one, but I think the reissue model will work fine. So, the important thing is a bolt-on neck and a truss rod. Well as I am not an english speaker, what is a truss rod ?¿? Anyway, upload a video when u install the pick up !!!! And thx for the answer !!!!!!! Good luck !
@openmind1984 A truss rod is a long piece of steel that runs through the neck of the guitar, so you can adjust the curve of the neck. I don't know the specifications of the reissue, but I went safe and bought a vintage one ;-) The reissue may just be a whole other guitar (eg. not made in Italy, etc.) and soundwise there may be a difference, but I am not 100% sure as I have not played one. Let me know how it all works out!
This is really cool!! :O
Out of Sheer Bewilderment:
1) How long did it take you to learn to play guitar this well?
2) How did you pick up songs when learning? (By ear, through internet, lessons, etc.?)
Sincerely,
The Amateur Guitarist

@MrMads9201 @mrtk003 is right. The first thing after the intonation check is some riff I made up myself ;)
