Bunch of big banks tried - and failed - to sneak a basket of shenanigans (HR 3808) through Congress and onto Obama's desk. They succeeded zooming it through Congress at light-speed, but Obama pocket-vetoed it 10/7.

We owe a lot to Obama for stopping it, and we need to hold all (ALL) Congressmen to account for trying to rip us off... again. BTW, it was a few states' AG's who blew the whistle on this. Thank them, too.

Yes the banks absolutely suck, but why does the government, without whom none of these shenanigans could have happened never get it's share of the blame? All the government has to do is just stop it -- turn off the switch. But they don't. They dole out the money to the bankers. THE GOVERNMENT IS DOING THIS.

God Bless Marcy Kaptur. There is a way to take your home back from the bank and completely remove the fraudulent mortgage that they created. I hope that more people will become educated and learn how to do it. It may be the only way that we can bring about true reform of our financial system.

These guys have identified the problems well but I think they focus too much on reforming the behavior of the banks.

It is the behavior of the government that needs reforming. Chase will be SOL if they try to beg for favors and the door gets slammed in their face. They would be forced to sleep in the bed they made (bankruptcy).

They need no regulation, the government needs to stop whoring out to them.

I saw this live when it aired. God, I love listening to Simon Johnson! He's so intelligent and interesting and fascinating. I could listen to him all day! I wish HE was in Bernanke's or Geithner's or place. Speaking of Geithner, he and Summers too, ought to be out an their butts! They so stink! Everytime I hear more about they've done and are doing, it proves to me all the more what incredibly bad choices they were to be put in these key positions. Truly the foxes in charge of the henhouse! Sad.
