Loved this game, and the whole "real-time action" genre which was a hybrid of a shooter and a real-time strategy game. There really hasn't been much in that genre...the Uprising series, the Battlezone series, and a game from Microsoft which I always forget.

the one thing i miss the most, is when you capture all but one of the citadel positions, get all your troops ready for that final attack, then boom, call in aav, tank, hoards and hoards of light infantry and of course your bombers. It just gave you the thrill not many games can do nowadays

I still love and play this game, they should make a new/remake version, the idea and concept behind the game was brilliant at the time and would be refreshing in this day and age aswell!!

Seriously, this is my absolute favorite PC game ever. Unfortunately, for some reason, it doesnt work well with newer mice, so actually playing it now is a bit difficult, but I sooooo dont care because this game is 110 % amazing!

Best thing about it is the anger you feel when the imperials have lined the command thing at a citadel with mines X_X *lol* And maybe the hate caused by the hords of imperials on Nataselah.

I was one of the guys who worked on this game (a small team, maybe 6 engineers and 3 artists). Most fun I've ever had at a job. It totally made my day to watch this video and read the posts. Glad people still love the game.

It's been a long time (decade++)....

You bring up the console somehow. I vaguely remember that in multiplayer there was a way to type messages to other people playing the game, and that some console could be brought up in single player, and you could type stuff in there.

If you type 'chump' you unlock all weapons systems and I think there's infinite ammo.

'superchump' you can also move really fast, and i think you're invulnerable.

OK, some clarification from other guys on the team: one guy says you just type it while playing, no console.

Another said you bring up the console with "what Quake did for the console, which was / or CTRL+/ or something like that."

@olaftheunready Hey! Thanks for making this game SO awesome!! I still remember this from a decade ago. (Probably my earliest memory, actually.) But I can't get the darned thing to work with newer machines, despite VM trickery, or the like. Video/sound drivers don't exist for XP or earlier, either. Then, in Win Vista & 7, there are renamed .dll mismatching problems. I just don't have the expertise to work around these issues.. any ideas? Basically.. get an old computer? :P

Uprising is still unique and totally awesome.. i loved this game and played it for so long.. a modern remake of this game would be so cool..

One of the best games (along with Wargasm) that I have ever played.

Still have the CD so going to try and get it running on Vista tonight.

Fantastic game. Wish they did a remake off it. Didn't like Uprising 2 though.

Like a lot of games from the 90's you really need the manual for this game - a lot to learn and a PC game, like most of the day, where you had o have a brain! I have an original copy of this that I bought new. Lu7ckily I don;t sell my old games and still have them all!

This game is awesome. I played today the whole campaign. I own it for 12 years. Hopefully there will be a game coming out with same gameplay in the future. I love the mix of FPS and RTS.

This is the low resolution Cockpit. ( = Settings High Resolutuin: Off )

If you change the texture resolution the settings menu than the cockpit changes too.

@SlayerDeathBathory I used to pretend the Wraith was an AAV or a bomber, by lookin up in the sky and shooting those twin grey rockets, trying to imitate them cuz i was soooo obssesed with the AAV's back then. Once I managed to land on that 'square like building' (I think it was a sattelite building) and it sent me flying up to the sky (a glitch caused by landing on it in a specific way) and sometimes bombers used to fly past and I used to try to get on them and once I did lol. It was awesome

@SlayerDeathBathory This use to be my favourite game. Me and my Bros ended this game some 12 years back... After the first few levels it's almost impossible to win without using cheats... This game was most fun to play with cheats but even then there were times when we lost the game.....
