  • if bigwig dies im gonna be pissed!

  • "Lord Frith, I know you've looked after us well, and it's wrong to ask even more of you. But my people are in terrible danger, and so I would like to make a bargain with you. My life in return for theirs."

  • Haha this is definitely *not* a kids movie, for those who mistakenly thought so. Even without the violence/gore, it's still a bit psychologically intense and kids wouldn't understand most of the whats and whys of the storyline. The 1999 TV series would be an appropriate version for the younger set, as it was kiddified and cute-sified so much but still had enough of the original storyline to hold a youngster's interest, I think.

  • @Toobulations

Like what they did to Silverwing? XD Man was I dissapointed.

  • @DoubtfulGrace Indeed.

  • @Toobulations same here it has some blood in it

  • evil cat

  • 1:46 Fiver's tripping balls, man.

  • Why do I find it so scary when they say "there's a dog loose in the wood"?

  • Fiver, you're freaking me out!!

  • 7:44

    the dog takes a piss

  • this proves it.....general woundwart is pure communist

  • I love the way the General is taken a back when he realizes that Bigwig is not the chief. "Your...chief?" Also, how cool is it that it was a human that saved Hazel from certain death?

  • "I'm the rabbit who can't be moved!"

  • Pipkin's voice wasted no time changing.

  • @omarisnotaloosa Pipkin isnt younger then the other rabbits, he is just smaller.

  • @mecaguy03 I didn't say he was. Just in the very beginning, that which I assume was his voice was really high. And then it suddenly was really low. Rabbit puberty would be fun, though.

  • "Shall I kill 'im, siiir?" Best line in the whole movie.

  • ssshhhhhhhh!! roy kinnear!

  • the cats a boy???

  • Respond to this video... These bunnies are tougher than most people!

  • @streamlinedbaddie An excellent suggestion.

  • Bet you'll never look at bunnies the same way again.

  • "I can suggest something better for both of us." Yeah, GTFO.

  • The fight totally reminds me about Felidae.

  • @MsPerryRocks SO TRUE, I've had the whole Felidae vibe going on right from the start of this movie.

  • I swear this is how happy tree friends started

  • this is a kids movie!?

  • It's completely fascinating the stuff you find in innocent movies like this...

  • Shall I Kill him Sir? No!!

  • "There's a dog loose in the wood. . . "

That line has ALWAYS scared the crap out of me for some reason.

  • anyone else notice that they never send bigwig to fight when hes the strongest 1...

  • 4:40 Yup. This is definitely a kids movie.

  • @boomboombeast who the fuck rated this PG?

  • @boomboombeast It said no where on the movie that it was for children.... any Disney movie for children has to deal with princesses and princes and happily ever afters. if that's what you're looking for then you found the wrong movie.

  • @boomboombeast shutup. you clearly grew up with no concept of anything in the world other than barbie dolls action figures. Nothing in this cartoon is unreal or radical. better you know about this as a kid than have to wait as a grown man to understand what evils you are capable of committing.

  • @JAEitler I think you're mistaken. I think that a bunny having its throat ripped out is a great thing for kids to see.

  • If I ever get a rabbit I'm so naming it Bigwig! :D

  • VOILENT...but awesome. (;

  • dog dick

  • damn didn't know rabbits could be like this

disney and warrner bro have lied to us

    thats old news mate

  • at 4:44, i was thinking, "Holy $hi+! that is the single most disturbing image i have seen in a long time! (shudder)

  • Bigwig: COME AT ME WOUNDWART!!

  • Man, that Fifer is high as shit.

  • "May I kill him, sir?" LOVE<3

  • No body fucks with Bigwig.

  • did blackavar die in the book?? I cant remember...

  • Poor Blackavar :(xxxxxx

  • Hazel is gay......*shakes head*

He leans closer- "Perhaps we should be together....."

geez. i shouldve seen it q.q

  • If I had kids, I'd show them this movie every night before they went to bed.

  • white rabbits Vs black rabbits :)

  • that dog is the most vicious looking labradour I´ve ever seen O_O´ and yes Im reading the book at his very moment and it honest to god did mention that breed on the farm´s dogs behalf..!

  • do rabbits really fight like this? :O

  • Hazel's prayer at 3:54 is moving and Frith's response is interesting. There is no bargaining with God. Of course, man is the exception. Abraham and Moses were the few who successfully bargained with God.

  • @TheIntruders

    There's no bargaining with him.

It was all his plan to begin with. What will be, will be.

  • @TheIntruders your right glad you notice cuz I didnt

  • That sounds like something similar to what is said in the holy bible. "What is, is what must be".

  • 4:20 "what is must be" thats pretty awesome... :3

  • These niggaz r some thirsty ass rabbits risking their lives for some rabbit pussy...I woulda did the same lol

  • Comment removed

  • Hazel is great leader

  • tht cats a CREEP ASS

  • 00:6 , transcribe the audio XD It says lol xD

  • Blackavar doesn't die in the book! Grrrrr!

  • wow al two of my rabbits if they were to live to see the other two 6:30

  • I swear there rabbits are fucking cannibals!

  • THIS SCARED ME SHITLESS WHEN I WAS YOUNGER!!

  • Little boy watching this: mommy... Why are the rabbits bleeding?

  • 7:12 Scariest shot of Woundwort !

  • the cat talks

  • This film really upset me when I was little. It was on tv and I started watching it because it was about cute rabbits and then they started mauling eachother :o

    I can't believe this was rated a U!!!!

I'm watching it again now that I am old enough to understand the storyline

  • Three cheers for Bigwig He kicked General Woundwort's evil ass down the street

  • @EternalDragon343 HEAR HEAR!!

  • Comment removed

  • lol, i love how that dog had to take a leak first before going.

  • @ItsCarmenJones I meant that a doe not but a doe that a doe

  • @dangerspydarko That's only in the movie; in the book, Blackavar attacks Groundsel, one of the Captains, but he survives. He and Holly become best friends.

  • There's not a day or night but a doe that a doe offers her life for her kittens,or some honest captain of owsla, his life for his chief ,but there is no bargain, what is,what it must be.... Black rabbit of inle quote from the movie FTW ..just had to get that out... (and I'm guessing its the black rabbit because in the book el-ahrairah was bargaining with the black rabbit his life to save people from king dar-ill just shut up and watch this masterpiece ..

  • @ItsCarmenJones Close, and well said! It's one of my favorite lines in the movie, chokes me up every time.

But it was Frith's answer to Hasle.

  • if i see justin bieber 1:15

  • did anyone notice that Fivers eyes channged from red to light brown durring his panick attackand then back to red after

  • 11 people were killed by woundwort.

  • i think the general is legitimately terrifying!

  • fiver kind of reminds me of snitter in plague dogs

  • @rupertmyprince ya i just watched that yesterday

  • @rupertmyprince Actually, John Hurt did Snitter and Hazel as far as the voice, but I see what you mean. Snitter is kind of a prophetic character as Fiver is.

  • Was anyone else disturbed by the fact that during he film you never see a male animals cock and balls... As a kid that always bugged me...why don't artists ever draw balls sack and penises on male animals?

  • @Squeaky4CC Actually, if you notice on the dog when they put their plan into full effect, you can clearly see it's genitalia.

  • Pipkin is one fast digger...and such a little guy!

  • 1:55 Some great dance tricks

  • It has always pissed me off that they kill Blackavar in the movie when he doesn't die in the book. :(

  • can u...run?i think..not.i think....not. *about 2 bite his neck* TAD!TAD! *cat reatreatz thinking GOD D***** I WAZ JUST ABOUT 2 KILL HIM!*

  • 7:12 the face that haunts my nightmares. O.O *shudder*

  • @double1967 i'm german and just saw the movie in english these days... i just want to let you know, that the german translation is way diffrent in the last part of friths words...

in english original, frith said that there is no bargain, what is is what must be.

in german translation, frith said it could be a bargain, sometimes it's accepted, sometimes not...

i think it's a BIG diffrences between there could be a bargain and a maybe... stupid germans ;)

  • I like the way that if someone has a talent, they volunteer themselves instead of hiding for their own safety.

  • Lets go Wigglytuff!!!

  • @DeathCrossMS Hehe, more like Lopunny. :D

  • I've seen a rabbit and a squirrle fuck up a cat be4...cats are...pardon the pun...pussies...

  • that rabbit is on acid

  • That was one of the great ironies in the book. Humans killed the old warren, but a little girl helped save the warren in a way by saving Hazel-Rah.

  • I kind of hate that they killed Blackavar in the movie. He was really cool in the book.

  • THIS IS INTENSE!! O.O

  • That dog must be incredibly stupid. He has his jaws practically in the rabbits fur and he turns and goes in the other direction when the birds get startled and fly away.

  • You know, there are sooo many alusions to The Bible in this movie. The Exodus of the Rabbits, Hazel sacrificing his life to save his people...

  • @jwrocks everyone always says there's TONS of "biblical" undertones to everything, but in truth it's just a simple story with a very "imaginative" storyline (HINT: the Bible BTW is an unqoutable work of fiction)...we can use...harry potter...valdermort is the devil, and harry potter is the saviour born to save the world...there you go..

  • @Mouchi Yeah but the Bible (and Greek literature, and Northern European fairy-tales) are the source of those references, and are much better written than anything JK Rowling put out. Rowling's stuff is a pale shadow of the Dark is Rising series, anyhow. Don't understand why people prefer their ideas second-hand. Cultures that have other holy texts and other national epics don't have the same notions about, say, what it means to be a savior.

  • @Mouchi While I think WD has a lot of Biblical undertones, it has a lot more Greek/Homeric undertones too, because the author's intent is to depict an alien worldview, like that of an aboriginal tribe that has different ideas and aspirations (about what is the purpose of life, what it means to survive). Nowadays a lot of people don't ask those questions because they have it easy. This doesn't reflect on the Biblical references, they tie the rabbits' perspective into something we can comprehend.

  • @Mouchi wow, guessing you are an atheist. I pray for you.

  • @jwrocks I am a TRUE christian, but am so annoyed at people using christianity as a weapon...chistianity should be about love, kindness, compassion, hope, faith and many other traits of being a good human being YET all we see is bible thumpers who use the Bible as a weapon to promote hate (just an example: The westboro baptist church)

  • Oh, poor Blackavar! Why was that necessary, film makers? :(

  • Which one is Campion? The others bad rabbits look just like him. Please help.

  • Is it just me, or is Bigwigg like the baddest mutherfukkin' bunny there has ever been? Mah nigga Wigg was like, "Alright U bich azz general. Bring it! Lemme see wat chu got chump?!" He's like the Rambo of rabbits. Love that character! Love the British tough guy accent he had too. "AWL RITE U BLOODY TOSSA! IMMA BITE CHO BUNNY BAWLS OFF AN SHOVE EM' DOWN YA GRIMEY THROAT!" BigWigg FTW! x D

  • @southstar44

    You're an idiot.

  • @southstar44 seriously???

  • @southstar44

    It's just you.

  • @southstar44 did your mom drink while you were in the womb or what

  • I want to kniferape woundwort up his bunny @sshole

  • I have to say the thing that saved everybody was those damn red birds flying away that got the dog's attention...

  • is that bits of flesh on the generals mouth?

  • Is that dog blind?!

Blackberry was sitting RIGHT in front of him!

  • Am I the only one who noticed that at the beginning of the movie, the cat was brown, and now it's blue-grey?

  • @Brigirl9 there were at least 2 different cats...

  • @yityatlvr But the cat was brown when Hazel asked it "Can you run?", which was why the cat said that to him when she pounced on him :P Only her fur is a different color now

  • @yityatlvr But the cat was brown when Hazel asked it "Can you run?", which was why the cat said that to him when she pounced on him :P Only her fur is a different color now

  • @Brigirl9 i took it as the grey one looking brown because it was dark, i'm not sure though

  • Bigwig's my hero! X3

  • Book is better, but the best thing about the movie is the watercolar-based animation. Not a bad condensation of the novel, either.

  • Lol the cat's like "Muahaha now I've gotcha...oh damnit."

  • Ofcourse taking a piss is more important than chasing a rabbit...

  • does wound wort fight holly or Blackavaar first?

  • @hoppy981

He doesn't fight Holly at all. He kills Blackavar.

  • @Saphruikan k thnx cause in the book wound wort only fights bigwig

  • It's amazing how even rabbits stereotype. Woundwort thought Bigwig was Hazel's chief instead of the other way around! It's kind of touching how Hazel was about to bargain with Frith for his warren's lives! Blackavar got owned! Poor guy. The little girl saved Hazel's life.

  • John Hurt - LEGEND!!!!

  • 10 people got killed by Genral Woundwort

  • Kick his @ss Bigwig!

  • Technically, a human saves Hazel from the cat.

  • 0:43 That line-up of Woundwort's henchmen makes me think of chavs - only hard when there's a gang of them to back each other up.

  • zombie bunneh

  • Did I just see General Woundwort kill a rabbit that looks exactly like him but darker colored?!?! at 4:38 ???

  • @XAgentgirlX Yes, it was the former Efrafan Blackavar, with the shredded ears. Woundwort only scratches him in the book but having him kill him exemplifies his ruthlessness.

  • For those of you that have read the book, I was dissapointed Thethuthenang wasn't in the movie cuz I wanted to see how to pronounce her name.

  • Fiver scared the crap out of one rabbit in the book and he didn't fight cuz Fiver said I'm sorry for your death. It was still scary.

  • 10 people can't run.

  • I would have booted that cat so hard it would have not sat a week!

    scum trying hurt a rabbit

  • Hazel was so brave to go over and see the efrafans alone......:)xoxoxox

  • I'm don't like hunting and I'd feel horrible about killing an animal. But I think I would personally blow Woundwort away with a shotgun and then eat him as a steaming bowl of soup. And I have eaten rabbit before, it taste like a cross between beef and poultry and it's extremely lean.

  • 4:44 ... Holy shit.

  • Rabbit politics. Brilliant.

  • Next pet rabbit I get is being named General Woundwort

  • Reading the book makes a lot of things clear that are hinted at in the movie. When Woundwort and BigWig are fighting, and BigWig, finally acknowledging Hazel as his chief (he refuses to acknowledge this for much of the story) says, "My chief's told me to defend this run." Woundwort looks about worriedly, and says, "Your ... chief?!" He thought BigWig, being the biggest and strongest, was the chief, never thinking Hazel's cleverness would earn him that title.

  • Is blood what really makes a movie?

It's not a bad thing to have blood in a cartoon, but to say it would be bad without it is an insult to the story and the concepts as well.

And I don't understand all the Disney hate.

There is violence in Disney films, but it's not so gory.

  • @Kittycatloverdesi You have a point, but what I've been trying to point out is that Disney seems to lack blood in nearly all their movies. I'm not saying that the blood makes the movie good, but the fact that characters nearly never bleed when they are seriously wounded is just unnatural. It's unnecessary cencorship, and a little blood in an animated movie wouldn't kill anyone. As for Disney, I'm a die hard Disney fan, but I enjoy classics. I just don't like some their newer, crappier movies

  • I love how the dog almost screws everything up by stopping to take a piss.

  • @Revolucio1989 Realism, my friend, realism! You have pointed this out, and it has been recognized in your 78 vote-ups. Richard Adams' novels, and even this movie, though fantasy, are still very much concerned with realism (and the mundane).

  • i don't remember blackavar dieing in the book

  • Look people, quit being so unbelievably stupid about the blood in this movie! For God's sake! Brigirl's point about this isn't to offend any disney movie. For the love of God, stop arguing!

  • *reads comments*

Sheesh, people, don't overreact. Brigirl's point is that Disney dumbs things down half of the time these days. Sure, they don't have a lot of blood, and normally that's just fine. But keeping even a few things just as sheer reality - the fact that things really are ugly and horrible and not peaceful - is all that it takes to put a lot more depth into a movie.

  • @SpringLionCub Um, that's not what I think we're talking about. Life is brutal, but that is not a free pass for indecency or being inappropriate. If animated films are truly an art form, then one of the precedents of that is to be tasteful. Blood simply isn't tasteful.

  • @GreyWolfLeaderTW

i'm at a loss as to how blood is untasteful... it carries oxygen around my body, whats so wrong with that? When people have accidents, it leaks. Its reality. It doesn't matter if you like it or not, its part of all living things. If you say art can't do X, that means art must do X - art has to push through censorship. Especially wierd reality can't be shown on screen because i don't like it censorship. You confuse me by not liking such an ancient symbol / important body part

  • Oh and for the people that have no clue what there talking about. And are just talking crap about Disney. Because they think its cool. Let me clue you in on something. If it weren't for Walt Disney. This movie or any other great animated movies would have never been made. So show some respect.

  • Great film. A remake would be a fail.

  • bunny wabbits are scary

  • Why did they have to kill Blackavar? He didn't die in the book

  • @eateroftheflame Blackavar didn't have as big of a role in the book either. He was kind of just there and had less of a character to him.

  • They should reshow this in the cinema!

  • @Bloodshotshatterbone If I had my choice, it'd be done in full CGI by Dreamworks.

  • Blackavar lives in the book? Good, now I want to read it. :)

  • This violence is much better than Slapstick violence! Thats why i love it!

  • fivers...panic attack thing used to always freak me out o.O its like hes posessed

  • how could this be rated G?

  • @BeeryGamer well because of the grahpics and stuff plus it was along time ago (when jaws was made it was rated G as well) its probibly changed but at first it might have beeen stated lik that. dont think of me as a know-it all im just trying to explain it 2 ya
