I must have seen this at least twenty times over the last fourty years and it is still the most disturbing film that i have ever watched.
All those who wish to bring back the death penalty should be made to watch this over and over again until they realise that whatever term they use to try and justify it, be it judicial hanging or the death penalty, it is nothing more than the state putting someone to death and that is barbaric and a uncivilised and leaves a stain on the country as a whole.
I have never seen this film, although I remember my mother having great admiration for Diana Dors taking on such a role. Would love to see it.
