  • yes and so was mine. She is now almost 20 and it took me sending a picture of her and her baby in to the dna office for them to admit that their testing is not 100% accurate. I can tell by its head and the way it was playing with the ball that it is a female.

  • first "he" was a she. the antic with the ball and the flowers is a nesting sign that she is ready to be a mom. she got aggressive because the toys were her babies so to speak. people really should do a lot of research when choosing a pet

  • @daveslilady He was genetically tested proving that he is a he.

  • Okay, Bobbie's cage is too small. His cage should be large enough that he can fully stretch out his wingspan and not touch the cage. Also, parrots need intellectual stimulation even while in their cage. It is cruel to not give them anything. It's also not nice to tap them on the beak like you were doing in the beginning of the video. Please take better care of him. :(

  • @treasurehiding I agree that his cage was not optimal. But this was compensated by the fact that he was always out when I was at home. The cage he only used for sleeping. He was extremely attached to me and was with me wherever I was. He never accepted anything on or in his cage. Away from the cage it was very different and he played with almost everything. I am completely convinced he was a happy bird. Now he is adopted by a parrot specialist and has a huge cage.

  • xD 4:09 :D

  • We used to have one of these. They get sooo loud.

  • I loved watching this as I had same breed for years, before she died in a hideous Teflon poisoning accident. Beautiful, happy bird

  • i have a orange amazon looks exactily the same! his name is Sunny but i call him sunny sauris lol

  • What a beautiful bird! Really has a LOT of blue along the back! Just curious, is there a reason you don't have some toys for him to play with in his cage? You can make wood toys really cheap that they love to turn into toothpicks. :)

  • Yes there is a reason for not giving him toys; he gets REALLY aggressive and defend them like a cobra. However, he is usually outside the cage when I am at home. And he loves to chew on his wooden stand.

  • @bucciflash mine is aggressive with his toys too, thats why he loves them!

  • is he louder than a indian ringneck

  • yes, they are one of the louder amazonas i had

  • I got him 10 years ago when he was (claimed to be) 8, so is probably 18. I got him as a compensation after buying an african grey which died 3 months after purchase. I can tell you, I know how he feels in the Monty Python "dead parrot" sketch..

  • LOL....adorable! Do you realize that Bobbie was getting "romantic" with that ball? LOL. My OW makes the same exact gestures and sounds in the springtime, with the back of our recliner chair. How old is he/she?
