zbudapest I have to say this is truely amazing, I am a pagan and I have a different version with a guy and lady singing, she sings the goddess chant, or wiccan chant by inkubus succubus, and it is amazing.
Listening to this chant, I feel that something deep down into my soul is rising her head and looking into the sun... I feel sacred more than ever. Thank you :)
I believe the Goddess is more not powerful, but stronger then the God, I am a male, so I would like to say that a Goddess I believe is more important to humanity then a God.
This is a special sacred song that came to me circa 1972. We were all on the beach celebrating candlemas, but had no songs yet to sing. The Goddess Movement was only a year old, and we had no culture for it yet. I had the first two lines, "We all come from the Goddess, and to her we shall return, " and i waited for more lines. Looked down as the rain was forming little rivers, and flowed back to the ocean.
'Like a drop of rain, flowing to the Ocean". This song was loved from then on.
Yes, I know, but i believe in a period of rest, before the return. I also believe when youre in the period of rest, you'll be with the godess in person (hard to explain). and still, I'll have to leave my friends and family.
I think your talking about the summerland where you rest before the reincarnation. Well, see it that way, they will probably also be there and they will stay with you in your heart.
What I mean is that before the exicution of the Pagans, the Pagans and the Christains used to live to together and work together, however as the christains converted more people they tried to whipe out the image of the goddess and replace her with their 'virgin Mary'. So they do believe in her, they just dont know it. if that makes sense. ive been a witch for about six years, I know a thing or two, trust me.
@nickruffolo maybe mary was not really a virgin, but she was special, and a good symbol of motherhood - and the mother of a good man. I believe in her as just another aspect of the goddess. I was raised catholic, and she was a very strong presence in my childhood, which was great considering how patriarchal the church is.
Well of course most of you never new of the goddess, the chirstains dont want you to know about her to try to keep their dog matic faith in tact. The Christain faith is built on lies and written in blood of those who died at their hands. Blessed Be the pagans, wiccans, and witches. Blessed Be the GODDESS!!!
@rjkieda I think that you are talking of a small sect of holy roller bible belt christians. Most people are more open minded, would entertain the idea of god being female. What bugs me is when I hear wiccans saying they don't believe in one god, that its impossible for the christian god to exist, then they turn around and put all their faith into deities that are just as unlikely. I think that if you believe in anything, I mean REALLY believe, then you must believe in all of it.
Before, I did not know either. I had no idea people used to honor the goddess before a Christian god. Then I found out and I went through a bit of an anger stage. Why wasn't I taught about the goddess? I felt cheated. Now nothing makes more sense to me than the concept of a goddess next to a god. I feel that paganism is the right path for me.
Oh, this was directed towards me. lol Just as a heads-up when you talk to someone on youtube you have to press the "reply" button. ^_^ Also, what do you mean by, "I felt cheated?" Are there any "gods" or "goddesses" in paganism? Just like there are in Hindusim, Catholism(Mother Mary), ect. ect.
I feel the same way. When I was Christian, no one EVER talked about a female deity. I too, felt neglected as a woman, and when I found Wicca, everything fell in to place. =)
@Kcatcutie To NEone whos listening. I just had a revelation of feminine deity. I didnt know the pagan way until I met my ex girlfriend. Im not dianic but im a feminist somewhat. Christians just don't know. Thats why i dont tell them because they may be hurt. So i just try not to let them get arrogant 2wards me. Or my brothers and especially my sisters. Hail to my Mother, ATHENA and my Father, PAN. My MOON and SUN. Blessed Be.
@mrscheshire I told my parents the same exact thing, that if there is a God, there has to be a Goddess, in order to create humanity. Nor do I believe that one person should have all the power, I believe there are many Gods and Goddesses.
@mrscheshire maybe it was my catholic upbringing, where a huge importance was placed on the Blessed Mother - I never felt cheated of the feminine divine. In fact, I think Mary was just important as Jesus to all of us good little boys and girls. Even at a young age, I was skeptical of the whole virgin thing, but she was still a good symbol for women. I still keep images, statues of her, they have an important place in my home.
@mrscheshire because the church belive that there is onley there god and nothing more and to them it is devil worship i know some how knew there was a goddess by the time i was 9 don't ask how i just did
Beautiful video and wonderful song.. to those naysayers I have to ask.. do you really think it was a man who gave birth to humanity.. ?? The Goddess is alive and calling women bimbo's only shows your lack of respect for women.. we don't hate men.. we demand respect.. maybe you should learn how to show it.. blessed be the women.. we are the creators of this new world..
Me and my little sister snuck down to the forest near my house and i was overwelmed by the goddess in everything it was really beautiful! Awsome vid Z!! blessed be!
Hail be to the one who is beyond all space and time and is intricately connected with creation yet is infinitely beyond it. All hail the Great Goddess of the Universe!

Remember guys: The god is just as important as the goddess. I love both.
I don't have a personal god or goddess, but I know they're real. I can feel them.
Which is strange, because I went from being and angry Christian to an angry atheist. I'm now a happy Pagan and loving it. <3

@nickruffolo Christians don't have a hidden agenda to hide the Goddess... They don't believe she exists.
