  • A $20 Walmart space heater generates the same amount of heat as a heater based on electricity->split-water->burn-hydrogen.

Every Watt of electricity used is converted to heat either way. There are no other outputs or losses possible.

Law of nature: you can not create or destroy energy, you can only convert it.

Every bit of heat has to come from electric energy. There is no more efficient method possible as a straight resistor based heater.

  • @a1mint .. you are correct , it s base of energy, starts from an electrical supply , but compared to standard resistor home heating , you chose your supply (electrical power )price, not supplied from a power contractor , how much has your power bill increased by?? by the way google solar aluminum can air heater .

  • @o2baenergyfree I'm all for using sources of energy that is not the grid. Solar energy can be great. One could take that energy and generate hydrogen with it, and then burn that hydrogen inside a house - and without needing an exhaust for obvious reasons.

That's all great, so long as noone coins the idea that it is possible to make a standard space heater more efficient in itself.

  • @a1mint enjoy your space heater, the gas production is from a 12v car battery that is charged via solar panel , feeding a hydrogen production cell , hydrogen gas is hotter than lpg and natural gas , (only if you heat and object up , metal ceramic , radiant heat ...but the water vapour is the problem , dont concern yourself with this hydrogen heater, early next year i will post hho unit, runs on 10 aa batterys (tap water)

  • @o2baenergyfree When you throw around the term "hotter" as if it's "better" only shows your ignorance. Energy is energy. The amount of heat only is an indication of how much energy was spent at that time.

There is no such thing as spending less energy producing more heat.

So fact remains, an electric space heater is exactly 100% efficient.

A heater that burns hydrogen made from water using electricity, is also 100% efficient.

They both convert electricity to heat, and both accomplish the same.

  • me and my group made this last year for our young scientist project using sodium hydroxide and aluminum. I c u used draino.

  • hi .,. i dont use draino .. just salt water and alumnium .. the reaction (from the salt) kills the nasty acid that forms from aluminum and standed water .. power on instant gas... power off no gas .... smile

you cant not switch off the gas from koh added systems untill all the water is formed into hydrogen (oxygen reacting with alumnium )and or steam ....

  • Great work.

    Cheers.

    Scott.
