i dont know how every one is so calm and just absorbing the amazing blessing aura that thrice gives off when they play ! but with the way there music makes me feel ide prob be levitating in the air doing some sort of acrobatic dance ritual
I love this song. I honestly almost cried the first time I heard this song at the end. If you see it from Daedalus' point of view and not just a story about them, it becomes a whole lot more emotional. I'm crying tears of joy....
@sparks6028 i don't know the story but i think the son hes singing about must be the one he has left and since theyre trying to escape from exile. daedalus would be pretty upset to watch his son die haha. whether he has two or not that would be most upsetting to me anyways. maybe im not making a whole lot of sence but i hope you get what i mean =]
@xthetempestx You've never heard of Icarus? The boy who flew too close to the son, his wings, made of wax, bird feathers, and string, melted, and he died in the sea? Lol. I guess you just heard it, then. :p
@sparks6028 I think he wrote it meaning that this particular story (where he and his son Icarus were trapped in a tower, not an island), he only made wings for him and his song. It's possible that at this point in Daedalus's life, Icarus was the only one left, for his other son, Iapyx, wasn't mentioned at all. [:
that crowd blows big sweaty balls...this is one of thrice's most dynamic songs and meaningful...a few cheers here and there..they are probably an old thrice crowd who want to hear fast heavy riffs...sad.....very sad.
cuz its part of the ambiance, the better the crowd the better the show...its like ordering a pizza and not getting any toppings on it. better crowd = better energy from the band.
Since this was the alternative for the house of blues DVD, I think the sound's been nit-picked to cut out the audience as much as possible... And it is a very deep song, I don't know many people who like screaming their asses off to slow ballads like this : /
agreed they're super and this is my favorite from the disc. let's hope they stay together for albums to come...based on what i've seen they're having a tough time. when i met them in may the entire band seemed to have taken a toll for perhaps the long sets..or something else. time will tell!! rock on and what a great story this songs based on.
May I ask what that story is, I mean the story of this song, cuz I understood some of the things he talks about, but I don't fully understand all of it. THX in advance :P
Hey, the4realeddie. Daedalus is the story of Daedalus and his son Icarus. They made wings out of wax and feathers in attempt to fly away to a better life... new land. But icarus flew too high. the sun melted his wax and he fell to the depths. so sad... The melting point of wax from The Artist in the Ambulance album is from icarus' point of view... hope that helps
my girlfriend just caught me crying... then we watched it again..she's not so tough

Very few songs can make their listeners feel what the singer feels. This song makes us all feel the exact same thing whether live or on the album.

Damn he shows so much emotion when he sings...reminds me of aaron lewis. Love this band

So glad I'm not the only one that gets effected by this masterpiece. My eyes are 2 tiny seas whose water will rise and run down my cheek.

do you not feel like crying when you see Dustin's face just depicting Daedalus' anguish at 4:22? And the vocals after 4:53 are just unearthly

For most band the difference between live performance and studio is vast... Not in this case.

I love the song but the line "You're the only one who means anything to me." doesn't make a lot of sense. Daedalus had two sons.

I never understood why people give two shits about the crowd. Aren't you listening to the music? Watch the band, not the crowd. They're irrelevant.
