  • very beautiful women .....it's such a shame how things are now,oh well thats life

  • People say, look how well they dressed. People forget, they probably had BO.

If you like their dress, go and get it, wear it, and be polite, that way, you have what they have, plus a billion times more. There's no going back, but there is going forward.

  • Hmm. It must be winter. I don't see anyone in gym shorts and a tank top.

  • All of those people waving would not be able to even imagine people watching this film 107 years later at a personnal computer in there houses on a website being able to be viewed by millions of people worldwide just at the click of a button, how everything has changed.

  • Hehe, three goofballs on the right at 1:03.

  • Dead!......All Dead.

Every last one of em are dead and gone.

    Even the babies.

    How sad.......

  • 1:22 = dean street where the UNFAMOUSE COCKNEY CALLED LUCY MATTHEWS NOW LIVES :@ . THERES ONLY ONE GOOD THING ON THAT ROAD AND THAT IS PREMIAR SHOP

  • lol. 1:48, little girl looks pissed off!!

  • I wished they had sound and colour back then! I would love to see this period in all it's true glory!

  • naked without a hat.

  • the little kids look so cute :3

  • the poor male children in this most would have gone to the great war in 1914

  • Did you see the two blokes fighting in the background? Amazing, onlookers were making bets!!?? Why didn't they stop them from fighting?

  • @kennethj1956 where are the fighting men?

  • @kennethj1956 They weren't fighting, they were posing for the camera.

  • all well and good people saying how well dressed they were, but god how they must have stank of sweat wearing all those clothes..point of going to the seaside being to relax and get some sun and fresh air to the body, which in those times was needed given the poor health and disease which was rife at the time. They were living in a time when people had fear of their elders and would not have dared to dress out of tune with the masses.

  • As other posters have said, many of those youngsters would suffer and die horribly in the trenches. Makes you think. Just as well they didn't know what was coming.

Beautiful innocence. RIP all of you.

  • more of this please,fantastic

  • Time and Tide so the saying goes.......but its wonderful we have these images...

  • like sands through the hour glass.....so are the days of our lives. (american soap opera as well).

  • 4-6 million visitors, assuming hardly any were foreign that's over 10% of the British population visited Blackpool each year.

  • this is lovely.cant beet Black and white photos ,,,

  • Fantastic footage!.... I think I'd boil on a hot day with a heavy suit and hat like that!

  • Look at all of those children. So sad, even all of the age's children are dead.

  • Time stands still for no one

  • A good many would be dead by 1918.

  • This is wonderful !

  • from Brasil

  • Could You Imaging Walking Through Them With A Track Suit On? HaHa

  • I Have Been To Blackpool Countless Times I Love It But From What It Used To Be Compared To Now a Days It looks Like Blackpool Is A Dying Animal

  • Nice to see the old 'Dreadnaught' Trams in service. It was these that the current fleet of 'Balloon' Trams replaced in 1934/5.

Can you imagine 'Health & Safety' allowing these in normal service- nowerdays? With their steep open staircase leading directly onto the Track, so that the Tram behind can knock the alighting passengers over !!!!

  • which pier is the victoria pier?

    north, central or south?

  • south

  • great films,i loved the DVD you released

  • look at how well dressed all these people are, & they're probably mostly workingclass people. Today's dressing styles are generally tasteless & utter crap, if people dress up at all,

but then again there was a lot less freedom ofcourse generally speaking. Also all these people in their shown behaviour seem to have a civilized sense of community, whatever happened to that.

  • I agree. I couldn't believe it when we went back to visit and we saw whole families wearing soccer t shirts. I mean have some self respect.

  • @najl33zz421 Youre right about the freedom of clothing. But, if you wear clothes from 1900, which are amazing, almost all people will think you are crazy and stupid :-). But yes, clothes are much more various today, and more ugly, in my opinion :D

  • @najl33zz421 Why not dress like them and walk about then? You might start a new fashion

  • simply lovely

  • of course! if the film was made in 1904 they must be. if not they would be at least 100 lol.

  • no I meant me as a child - the memories I have and even now as an adult I have great memories and photos lol.

  • OMG - How fascinating from all that time ago and all on film. The little children there will no doubt have had their children and so on how blackppol has made a big impact and great memories as a child even now as a grown up.

  • I'm afraid even the little children in this film will be long gone...its 104 years ago!
