@Shetyre you're misinterpreting Divine shield with Divine protection.

Divine protection is a better fail-safe because Divine shield drops 50% of your damage done and all aggro. So for tanks, just mitigating 50% of your damage with Divine Protection is the choice 'shield' to use.

Holy paladins are really the only class to get a proper good use out of 'Divine sheild' For rets and protections it's really an 'ohsnap the raid is dying, I don't wanna' button.

@Demonic1526 you can't really decide who is the better tank between them. they're good at different. things. like warriors and pallys for example. pallys are awesome at damage mitigation and aoe tanking and warriors are the best single target tanks. druids and dks have their specialties as well.

Well I got 80lvl priest, pala and DK. DK is my current main, priestw as man pre-wotlk and I PvP on Pala. My ret is just faceroll. Paladins infact are too much op. Stuns, brust, heals, bubble. Theya re gods in PvP, unbalanced.

how does dk copy paladins, they are completely opposite of paladin. they dont even function on burst damage as many pallies do.

i can give you warriors, i canNOT give you lock.

lock = cloth, fear, dots, USEFUL minions, most utilities.

DK= plate, rapeage, more rapeage, big 2h sword with crazy dps, lots of utilities.

DK copy paladin : for aura ,blood spec is the same dmg/heal as the paladin when use judgement of light! , Instant heal ..hum is the same with instant flash heal (ret pala)

DK copy lock : for the pet Ghoul can stun if u compare as the dog (lock) he can silence, Death coil is not the same but very strong for a plate wearer.

Finally if u compare dk template u can found any skill on these class (pala,warrior and lock )

thats not really copying , a dk class mechanics are completely different , dks spam buttons and do a flurry of attacks while paladins are timed by judgements crusader strikes etc and auto attack , paladins benefity greatly from auto attack dks dont , dks have debuffs pallys have buffs etc etc etc

DKs don't copy the paladin... in Warcraft lore, only Paladins became Death Knights. WoW just changed that to make it more playable and allow any race/player to have one, not just transforming Paladins. The pet is there because again, under Warcraft lore, Death Knights control the dead, allowing them to raise the dead under their control.

As for the in-game mechanics, well most classes are very similar now.

Warriors are best tanks due to the fact they dont use mana and since mana is limited warriors gain rage per hit and have more powerful spells as prot so now they can do great on all platforms but mostly tanking :P

I know because i have a private server nothing has changed from blizz like and have tested both clases to show what the difference is... Oh and Pallys dont have unlimited mana... Thats a perc and still they lose mana and if not done right the pally will fail due to lack of mana...

Every time the paladin looses HP, and get healed he's getting mana + Blessing of Santuary gives 2% mana each time you block, parry and dodge + they have Divine Plea which gives them 25% of their base mana over 15 seconds and if you have the talents to improve it you have 100% chance on hit to renew it + they have Seal of Wisdom which gives them 4% of their base mana on chance on hit + they have Judgement of Wisdom which gives them 2% of their base mana on chance on hit.

imo warriors arent the best i play an 80 warlock and everytime im in a group with a warrior tanking (and this only happens in 5 man heroics) i nearly almost always get aggro even when the tank gave me vigilance and i specced for the threat reducing talent

Substained dps has nothing to do with how long you keep it up, arcanine97. Its how much u can do over that period of time.

Ill try to explain burst vs substaied.

Lets say a paladin can do 20k dmg in 10 second, then has to wait 10 seconds afterwards to do it again. its doing 20k 3 times a minute, or 60k a minute(1k dps). now thats burst. Substained dps would be a rogue doing 2k dmg/second for 60 seconds. or 2kdps.

Yes. And burst is better for PvP since the fights arent long, and if you dont kill your enemy you put a lot more pressure on his healer than if you do sustained dps. For PvE, it doesnt really matter if your dmg is burst or sustained, the point is to deal dps as fast as possible...4k on KT with burst = 4K with sustained

I tank as a prot paladin...it's more fun than healing, and you don't get generalized with all the 'RETardins' running around on all the servers. Win/win.

Not saying Ret isn't great dps...but 75%-80% of ret paladins suck and don't know how to play, aren't properly geared, and/or are just plain stupid. Turning an otherwise amazing dps class into garbage.

Seal of Martyr is the equivalent of Blood not vengeance, and Martyr or Blood is not something you would use for tanking as it takes away health based on damage you do, its more for Retribution Paladins in dungeons or raids. Though you are using vengeance in the video which is fine for tanking, or righteousness or wisdom.
