This has got to be on of the cheapest homemade videos I have ever seen. Another idiot just trying to discredit someone that stands in Stingers way. No goal, subjects not focused, not realistic, unrealistic spreads.
What is this a nursing home function? Give me a break. Most of these guys look like they need to lose a little weight and obviously aren't fit. These falls are obviously staged. Maybe next time they should try charging towards a bag. I would like to see some documentation of the effectiveness of this device on a crack crazed attacker not some elderly overweight officers.
I know an officer who was recently contacted by Stinger to do a comparison of the S200 with the Taser X26. He had an ASP training knife and was able to fully contact the bag after being hit with the Stinger. When he provided Stinger with the results they became very rude and accused him of working for Taser.
wow.. what BS. Notice the slick job of editting where people who were about to be 'stinged' and then they weren't there. perhaps that test didn't go so well. Why was only one person Tased and he clearly was much more affected by the taser.
This was supposed to be a side by side comparison. Stinger will go to many lengths to BS their POS s-200
Gee, I wonder if Tasercorruption, policemaniac, and jimjenkin are all the same person. Try not to be so obvious next time Jimmy. Nobody posts here for a month and then you use all three of your IDs to post numerous messages within an hour. Even Bo Dietl could have solved that poor attempt at deception.
The fact is Tasers are used at over 12,000 PDs worldwide. They are the only legitimate provider of this technology, and now they will put a beating on Stinger's shield technology.
Taser corruption part 6 of 6: "...Doug Klint tole me that the lawsuits against Taser would go away because there would be no documents to prove that Taser knew that injuries were happening. Since leaving Taser International, I have lived in fear of what Taser International will do to me. The compnay has enormous resources and connections throughout law enforcement."
Taser corruption part 5 of 6: "...me deposition in the Powers V. Taser case, a window was shot out of my residence. Rick Smith, Tom Smith, and Doug Klint are responsible for hiding and covering up information on the extent of injuries to officers during Taser trainings. I know this because I was instructed to alter the spreadsheets and saw them destroy documents.
Taser corruption part 4 of 6:"...Since leaving Taser International, I have been verbally threatened by people hired by TASER to harass and intimidate me. I was told by the two Chandler police offers that they had conducted a surveillance of my residnece, followed me around, and gone through my garbage. I was confronted at the grocery store by someone I had never met and told that it would not be a good idea for me to be testifying aganist TASER. In the summer of 2005, shortly before giving..."
Taser corruption part 3 of 6: "...someone was leaking information concerning the SEC and DOJ investigation to the press. Mr. Smith stated that the company was hiring off duty Police Officers to investigate and determine who the person leaking information was. In December of 2004, I was taken off TASER International's premises to another location and confronted by two Chandler, Arizona police officers, who accused me of leaking the investigation to the press..."
Taser corruption: part 2 of 6: "...Mr. Klint and Mr. Smith told me to remove the data from the spreadsheets for most of tthe injuries which I had entered. They then shredded most of the reports showing injuries, bringing in dumpsters to dispose of the paper. Many of the destroyed documents contained reports of injuries to the back. In late 2004, Rick Smith called a meeting of all the employees of TASER International. Mr. Smith infomred the employees that company management believed that..."
Taser corruption part 1 of 6: Corruption at Taser 4-Apr-08 08:00 pm
File NO 4:06-CV-179-HLM: Affidavit of Pamela Schreiner: "While creating the spreadsheet, I became aware that there were hundreds, if not thousands, of injuries noted on the volunteer exposure reports. When Doug Klint and Rick Smith learned of the volume of injuries they became visible concerned and upset At that time, the SEC and the Department of Justice were investigating the company concerning the safety of the device..."
Additionally, I think it is important to note that because our agency is small, we do not have the funds necessary to simply purchase trendy products without really knowing what we are getting. We needed to truly research and decide what the best value is for our department. I know quite a few agencies around who are excited about the next generation EID technology in the Stingers."
"...I researched all the information out on the Internet and concluded that there is no current information or studies that reflect negatively on the new Stinger S-200 that I am purchasing. After I took a hit with the Stinger, there is no way I believe any of the conclusions that were reached by some so called independent tests and found those tests to be an unfair and bias study that has nothing to do with the new Stinger S-200's..."
Chief Darren Jaros commented, "I had an opportunity to evaluate a Stinger S-200 from a neighboring agency whom is carrying them. After experiencing the effects of the Stinger S-200 and closely evaluating the Taser brand X-26, I easily came to the conclusion that not only was the Stinger far superior to the Taser, I like the fact that Stinger exclusively sells to the law enforcement community at a more affordable cost.
"...Information such as partially released NIJ studies that were performed on S-200 models not even being sold now."Chief Young continued, "Further, I am particularly happy to see Stinger's stance on officer safety knowing that Stinger does not sell their weapons designed for law enforcement purposes to the civilian market. I know several small and large agencies looking at making purchases of the Stinger and I believe the Stinger is the future of stun weapons."
"...For nearly half the price of the competition, I am getting a weapon that achieves a great level of immobilization while putting less current into the chest. As a Police Chief, I would encourage every law enforcement administrator to closely evaluate the Stinger and read through what appears a subversive effort to discredit Stinger by a focused bashing machine that has littered the Internet..."
Chief James Young stated, "After careful evaluations of the Stinger and the Taser, I determined that choosing the Stinger is an obvious and easy choice. I believe the Stinger S-200 offers officers an excellent alternative to other force options. I particularly liked what I believe is Stingers' superior dart spread, internal cartridge housing, and the one-handed quick eject button..."
Chief Tom McClain stated, "We did a lot of homework looking at the two primary vendors of EID's. We even used another model prior to this purchase. We concluded that the S-200 not only presented the best value to the taxpayers of Willard but clearly had the features necessary to best outfit our officers. Features like a cartridge eject system which allow our officers to quickly reload in dangerous situations is among the features we found very compelling..."
"...Although Stinger is new to the stun gun market, they have a great track record and I believe that their superior offering will make them extremely competitive in the marketplace."
Sheriff and High Constable Robert McCabe stated, "We looked at the available electronic immobilization products and easily concluded that Stinger Systems offers the best array of products, at a good value, and with great technologies. Having used other stun guns, the Norfolk Sheriff's Office felt that Stinger S-200 has features that others simply didn't offer and that really made the decision making process quite easy..."
Captain A.J. Monaghan stated, "After extensive research regarding the Stinger and its competitor we like the Stinger better. After doing a side by side testing of the Stinger and its competitor and after seeing the difference in the dart spread of the two devices, we quickly concluded that Stinger was the best choice. Further, the S-200's overall features coupled with a price that will save our taxpayers money, confirmed our thought process that the S-200 is the right choice for our department."
Chief Faulkner continued, "I can guarantee you that the S-200 has plenty of takedown power. The beauty of the S-200 is the engineering. The gun allows for tremendous stopping power yet was less painful than the Taser weapon. The Taser caused a great deal of pain. I now believe that it is not necessary that a stun product has to inflict this much pain to immobilize them. Obviously, with more pain, safety concerns crossed my mind."
"...In my opinion, and speaking not only as an individual but as a chief of police, the CRT study is completely inaccurate. I believe that either CRT had an agenda, or they must not have had the most current model Stinger that is on the market."
"My goal is to find a product that will not only benefit my department but would benefit all law enforcement agencies. I compared the two products on an even playing field and concluded the Stinger is the superior product. Furthermore, I've seen the Taser funded study that includes Taser board of advisor members and instructors that supposedly compares the Taser to the Stinger..."
Chief Don Faulkner wanted to equip his department with projectile stun weapons. He considered the Stinger S-200 and the Taser X26® products. Feature for feature, including price, he found the Stinger S-200 to be more compelling.
Looks like Stinger is having a tough time. Sales are very slim, the SEC is watching them closely, the NIJ study showed their stun gun was ineffective, Taser just scored a big blow against Stinger in the patent lawsuit, and now Taser is moving into their electronic shield business. All of these problems would have to raise some doubts for a police department considering the purchase of Stinger's products.
KimboSlice314: 1. The NIJ study was done on a 2005 weapon before the Stinger was even developed. In fact, Taser releasing this information is why Stinger is suing them. They could not even obtain the NIJ study through public releases. They had to do so through the freedom of information act. Taser gave Stinger the win in that lawsuit because they knew the 2005 gun does not represent the gun Stinger is selling now.
KimboSlice314: 2. The SEC is not watching Stinger closely. It's over, not founded. Here is an SEC case that Taser went through: "While creating the spreadsheet, I became aware that there were hundreds, if not thousands, of injuries noted on the volunteer exposure reports. At that time, the SEC and the Department of Justice were investigating the company concerning the safety of the device..." Stinger not investigated by DOJ. Taser investigated by both DOJ and SEC.
KimboSlice314: 3. Taser did not score a big blow against Stinger in the patent lawsuit. Stingers request to have Tasers original patent reviewed was denied, nothing more. That has nothing to do with the lawsuit in the grand scheme of things. Stinger is suing Taser and Taser is suing Stinger. The competition is very heated and Taser has sued every company that has ever tried to compete. All paten attorneys agree that Tasers suit has NO merit.
KimboSlice314: 4. Taser is not moving into the electronic shield business. They are simply making a kit available. It is not even a real shield. They are not even making them right now and it only remains an idea. Taser announced this shortly after they announced stock buy back as a result of new 52 week stock lows. It's just an idea at this point. If you want to consider ideas only then consider this idea -- Stinger is developing stun technology to be fired from standard shotguns.
KimboSlice314: 5. Sure, some of these issues initially raise doubts. Then Police Administrators research and read between the lines. They are smart. They don't believe all the crap all over the internet. They understand the new S-200 sold today is 100% different than the old NIJ study. They know CRT study to be bias -- that obvious. Funny that an executive of Taser is not in business with CRT. Administrators know the desperate attempts Taser is taking.
Police administrator saying nice things part 1 of 2: "As a member of the state's ECD Committee I believe I have had the opportunity to extensively research the ECD marketplace. What I found most compelling about the Stinger S-200 ECD is its waveform technology. If you need say only 5,000 Scoville units in pepper spray to be effective, why would you want to purchase a pepper spray with 50,000 Scoville units?
Police Administrator saying nice things part 2 of 2: The same logic goes with ECD's. Why would I want to purchase a device that has been measured to have 75% more peak current than the Stinger product since each product is effective at immobilizing suspects?"
Good for them. Stinger products are in over 6,000 police agencies world wide. This includes the band-it, Ice Sheild, and S-200. People forget about that. It is true. Stinger is a lot bigger than people think. Brent376 - go do some more false studies.
Chris, Listen. I never said that NO agency has completed the bidding process or purchased Stingers. Several have and PR's are out their. I said that their are a lot of agencies currently looking and that have decided to purchase, but that information is not out yet. I know this because I know several police chiefs around. All the PR's that were put out, agencies did buy. I don't think Stinger is lying about that. If they did, theat agency would come forward. The Stinger now is a great weapon.
You should know that the new stingers has an American flag on it because they are made here in America. If you obtain a stinger that does not have that pictures on the gun, it is not a current version that is deployed. Also, please note that companies can not disclose what agencies bought until the bidding process is over and its made public. All stingers reps were hired last Nov and the process takes several months. Trust me when I say a lot of people are checking out the Stinger and love it.
So are you in effect saying that no agency has completed the bidding process to purchase Stinger's yet? That directly flies in the face of numerous press releases put out by stinger over the last couple of years. Were they lying or are you?
Chris, I suspect that Stinger would not give you a new S-200 because of how far you went out of your way to discredit Stinger. Everyone knows that your study does not deal with the new weapon. If Stinger gives you a round two, what happens if you pull the same stuff. In business, people are offered only so many opportunities before they don't trust and don't want to give a person a second chance. My advice is to stop arguing in the past and find a way to obtain a new S-200.
Chief, how about if you fly on out here with yours, and we'll go ahead and do the test. It's an open invitation. No Taser reps, no Stinger reps, just cops (you are a cop aren't you?) testing equipment. Let's have the equipment speak for itself.
Chris from CRT, why don't you get hooked up with the new S-200 and then talk. You seem to back your study as if it still represents the Stinger that is around now a day's. Why don't you simply take another hit. It would be impossible to prove the new Stinger will give the same results as the old one. Even if you do that, we will all know something funny happened because 100 other studies will show otherwise. Why don't you do us a favor and admit you were paid off by Taser. We all know that.
Well Chief, First of all, CRT did not accept any money from any source, Taser or otherwise to do the study, or to present it at any of the conferences where it has been peer reviewed and accepted. The S-200, according to the Stinger salesperson I spoke to at length about setting up a second round of testing is in fact the correct generation. We offered to repeat the tests with any in-service S-200.
We also have repeatedly offered to Stinger sales reps and executives to repeat our tests with any in-service S-200 from a police agency actually using them. When we got down to agreeing on a date the salesperson in charge was ordered by Gruder and the VP to discontinue contact with CRT and was ordered NOT to set up the re-test we agreed to. Why is Stinger afriad to perform this test you are suggesting? I still have those e-mails.
I have asked many times for Stinger to provide the contact information for any agency of size that has deployed Stingers for over a year. As you know the agency depicted here serves a population smaller than my police agency, with a police force smaller than one of my parol squads. I have a feeling that their experience with LE use of force is very limited. I'll bet that one squad here has more confrontations in a month than they do in a year. How many actual field applications have they had?
Brent 376 stated earlier: "I dont understand why the companies have to Fight it out with each other. If the stinger works then great! Its another company giving LE a takedown tool. I as of now use Taser brand devices and I am happy with them. I am just thankful that we have less lethal tech out there to safely stop attackers. I think the real results will come out in police reports from officers who use stinger on the street."
Real results in Police Reports: Not the old study!! Get a life.
The National Institute of Justice study, (you know the guys who etablish standards and testing for body armor) uses the S-200. It was presented just this last December 3rd and 4th at the Technical Work group on less-lethal weapons. You can call their studies old and obsolete, but I have a copy I'd be happy to provide to any legitimate law enforcement officer. Of course the live presentation with video and photos is more informative but the written report still makes it clear that CRT is right
Wrong Chris from CRT. The S-200 that was used this last December was the old one provided a very long time ago. Stinger never provided the NIJ a new version. One again you are wrong and we can all see you are desperate to defend a study that is at odds with all new studies with the new S-200. I also know Jim Jenkins and he knows a lot of Police Chief's such as myself. I can promise all those reading this that CRT is false and the NIJ and CRT study used old weapons, no matter when they got them.
I agree and any company that tries to debunk a US Department of Justice study is just plain desperate to sell their product at the expense of officer injuries and expensive litigation.
Im pretty sure the US Department of Justice did not lie about this report. Sure Old Study. Your devices use old technology and they are quite impractical. I think Taser has long proven that they are serious about protecting officers and citizens. They have XREP Technology and trust Law Abiding citizens with Taser Technology as well as the Taser Foundation. You might be more successful if you try to push your products by claiming extremely high voltage like other illegitimate stun gun companies.
Are you another Taser homer? That "study" was commissioned in 2005 and performed on a gun that Stinger no longer sells. Pick up a glove and get in the game.
Stiger Systems is just a second rate, copycat and your guns are ugly. Your product also uses gun powder to launch the barbs which means it could be classified as a firearm. Also any moron can figure out if Stingers use 75% less power they are nowhere near as effective as Tasers. Im also pretty pissed off that you wont provide pretty pink Tasers like the C2 for law abiding citizens because you don't trust the public"\
EVERYBODY! Check out the US Department of Justice Study just released Jan 28th Titled A Qualitative & Quantitative Analysis of Conducted Energy Weapons. One statement from the report "In all cases of Taser Deployment the subject were immediately incapacitated. However the majority of people had little reaction when hit with he Stinger s200 while this CED was affixed to them via gator clips. A quantitative review of the weapon systems shows greater reliability of the Taser X26 over the Stinger"
EVERYBODY! Check out the desperate measures Taser International and CRT will go to to discredit the superior Stinger S-200. A 2005 study on a gun that no longer exists. What on earth does that have to do with the Stinger being sold to Police Departments today. I challenge ANYONE from TASER INTERNATIONAL or CRT to go noise-to-noise with a Stinger Rep on public TV instead of hiding behind false studies, paid medical professionals, and old outdated studies on old weapons. Todays S-200 vrs the X-26!
After CRT's career with law enforcement ends due to credability, their is always people looking for studies to be done on UFO's. Perhapes Chris from CRT can lead the CRT group to study UFO's.
CRT is a scam. They are paid Taser Master Instructors. They did demonstrations for Taser. Credible Police Officers from Nauvoo PD stated on film that their is no way in the world they could have gotton the resutls they did. Why agencies still buy from Stinger is probably because the know CRT is a joke. I hope Stinger keeps discrediting CRT as long as they are making false statements about the current version of the S-200. CRT is a joke and are lie. Don't trust them. How can you trust them?
CRT is a SCAM. They lie and it shows anyone can be bought. This guy Chris has a hard time controlling himself and I would not want to be in business with him. I think it is necessary to step up letting police agencies know the real truth behind CRT. I wonder what payrole records will show from Taser at the time of the so-called independant study. CRT is a SCAM. Why on earth do agencies still buy from Stinger after seeing your video. They buy because they know your video to be not credible.
Stinger has a one hand cartridge eject system that allows officers to reload faster. Chris from CRT is trying to discredit a company that makes a superior product. They are the only company in the world with these falsified findings. If what Chris from CRT is saying, other credible studies would have shown the same thing and it would be illegal for Stinger to sell a dangerous product. Chris from CRT looks very unprofessional arguing with your average joe on this site that likes Stingers. Hothead
CRT has simply presented the results of reality based testing so that Officers can make an informed decision. If you look at the videos we don't name one product as being superior, we allow the results to speak for themselves and the volunteers voice their own opinions. If your average joe likes Stinger so much, please share with us any three agencies of 500 officers or more that have deployed 100 or more Stingers for more than a year? I'd like to interview someone with that experience.
The current version of the S-200 has only been out for a few months now and the one you used to test was probably an old version or it malfunctioned. Because it has only been out for a few months now, how can you expect that they have been around for a year or more. The new Stinger is NEW and the current Stinger is better than the Taser. A NEW side-by-side will show that using the NEW Stinger.
Gladly, Send one on over, you are welcome to come witness it yourself if you like. We will use the same protocol, even the same volunteers if they are willing, and recreate this test with the "new" version. Shall we procure them from an agency currently using them to make sure they are in fact production models?
Stinger has pulse groups per second and a higher pulse duratation. More micro seconds and more direct Amps for knock down power. Darts penatrate more clothing and the cartridges are more reliable in cold weather. Taser sells their law enforcement weapons to the public and makes them in pink with build in MP-3 Players with songs "don't taze me bro". Stinger has an internal cartridge and better safety switches and off the shelf batteries that get 300 uses. Taser is a cheap toy that always breaks.
Chris from CRT, a certified Police Officer that says so right on his webpage is publically lieing about Stinger. This is fraud. CRT can not be trusted. CRT was paid by Taser for being a Master Instructor during the same time these testings took place. It can't be independant. That is impossible. Stingers dart spread is 24 inches at 20 feet. Tasers is 34 inches. Taser uses a primer that explodes and darts are ultimately launced - will probably need to reclassify as firearms soon anyways.
Yes, Chris is a Police Officer and certfied expert on less-lethal weapons. Has done three television shows (look for Guinea Pig on YouTube) and taught police officers in eleven countries. Chris holds master instructor certifications or better from mulitple schools both governmental and vendor. We also have the e-mails where all three members of CRT asked to become certified Stinger instructors and were denied by the CEO. Again CRT does not sell product it is the Stinger salesperson with bias
Chris from CRT is a Taser Master Instructor. He is trying hard to harm a better weapon. No toxic metals exist or anything like that. That is an outright lie. The members of CRT were made Master Instructors by Taser and I know people that know the CRT people. They have done demonstrations for Taser and got compensated for some work they did by Taser. Don't let these Taser paid individuals influence your decision. Every study and current side-by-side will disagree with CRT's findings.
Wow, you really shouldn't put a lie into writing like that that can so easily be dis-proven. The residue is in fact toxic. Anyone out there with a Stinger can simply fire the cartrige, collect the darts (handle them correctly to avoid contamination) and present them to the crime lab for analysis. If your lab is too busy to do it do a GSW residue test. While you are at it look for the primer anvils. They are also propelled downrange and are heavily contaminted.
Go to the World Wide Web: breibart tv/?p=45524&comments=1 and check out the associated press. The world says one thing, CRT says another. Who are you going to believe. CRT who admits withholding information from police agencies and whose results differ than all other tests. Do you trust everyone else that says one thing or CRT. Hi, I am from CRT, the whole world disagrees with our findings and we were once paid by Taser, but trust us. We also see UFO's and do studies on UFO's.
You might want to be careful with those "whole World" statements. There are some great studies by some well respected researchers, with doctorate degrees currently under the peer review process that agree with our findings. The peer review process is lengthy, but ensures proper scientific methodology. Legitimate Law Enforcement personnel can conact me for that information.
Hi, I am from CRT. We are honest people. I found horrible toxic elements and kept it a secret from police forces until my credability is in question. Now I need to get back at Stinger so I also feel the need to bring up the SEC stuff, which is all old stuff that happened years ago and should a lot like Tasers orginal complaint. A better product was made and your company refuses to mention anyting about that. Trust worthy Chris from CRT who CURRENTLY holds no contracts with Taser wants revenge!!
Nope, no secret, it has been peer reviewed in several presentations to Law Enforcement and forensic groups. I have no need for revenge, just resent you harming members of the law enforcement profession to try and make a buck. I'd hate to be the department expert witness trying to explain why we knowingly injected toxic elements into a person who was resisting and did not pose a more substantial threat.
As far as bringing up the SEC lawsuit against Stinger and the CEO, I only bring that up so that those few readers who go and look it up, read if for themselves, can see that many of those statements you made if previous postings and comments were false. I know, now you are going to lump the Securities and Exchange Commission in with Cops, Forensic, Scientists, and Taser as all dishonest people out to harm you. Their only customers are the Taxpayers and investors.
It is obvious that CRT does in fact have an agenda. Note, "no CURRENT contracts or consulting for either company." CURRENT is the key word, but what about at the time of the crt bias study. Taser uses bigger primers that they make versus Stingers well known company for their primers. If toxic elements were discovered, why did you not make the law enforcement community aware of this. You know why - because its not true. Only now are you upset when your credability is in question.
Actually, whithin the forensic community the toxic elements are well known and documented, they just haven't made the leap to common knowledge yet. Yes, Taser uses a primer to release the nirogen, but since compressed gas is the propellant driving the probes, no toxic heavy metals were present. Stinger on the other hand uses primers as the direct propulsion method for the probes, resulting in visible fouling that contains the stuff you wouldn't want injected into you.
Take it easy Chris. You will end up in a lot of trouble making these false statements. Time will tell. Fact: Your study does not reflect the S-200 being sold today. Your study will be different than all studies other companies that are independent does. Keep defending your study even after 100 other studies prove you wrong. You look like an ass and several people no longer trust your company. Keep up the good work.
Well thank you for jumping in with both feet. Since we've been down this path before, please tell us, how many models of S-200 does Stinger make? Which is the most current and when was this change made? Previous communications from your directors indicate that there is only one model of S-200, since there was no recall on the previous underpowered ones.
Now, as far as the salesperson's false statements about Stinger taking over the market place, I belive that you'll find the SEC disagrees. You can do your own research. Go to the SEC's dot gov website, look under litigation releases for the January 28th lawsuit filed by the Securities and Exchange Commission against Stinger. They did their homework, you can too. Read for yourself, do your own testing, and stop listening to people with something to gain by pumping sales.CRT doesn't sell product
Another concern for those who might be using these devices, in testing or operationally would be the propellant used. We all know that gunshot residue contains toxic elements, and primers are worse. Shall we get into a discussion of the part of the study, again independent and not funded by anyone, that reveals the contents of the propellant residue? I'd be happy to discuss those results in this open and public forum if you'd like to continue to bash our credibilty under various screen names.
Hi, This is Chris from CRT Less Lethal. I haven't bothered to respond to this poor man's marketing compaign until now. Yes, I'll use my real name and identify myself properly. The CRT video is real, the results are real, using an S-200. Taser did not pay a dime for that test, and all of us are independant, with no current contracts or consulting for either company. We all hold multiple certifications for many companies. If you don't like the results, make a better product.
I dont understand why the companies have to Fight it out with each other. If the stinger works then great! Its another company giving LE a takedown tool. I as of now use Taser brand devices and I am happy with them. I am just thankful that we have less lethal tech out there to safely stop attackers. I think the real results will come out in police reports from officers who use stinger on the street.
My Chief just decided to go with the Stinger after the same guy in the video came out and did a demonstration. He said that every department he did a demonstration for has either bought the Stinger or is in the process of moving forward. It looks like it's true, people really do pick the Stinger when comparing.
I am sure once Taser looses the law suit resulting from the CEO ordering officer injury documents caused by the X-26 to be destroyed, I will be curious to know what the number says then. You know what, none of this matters. So what if Taser is a dirty company. The point is that the Stinger works very well and is a good buy.
Another person with Taser blinders. Rick, listen. This post is to determine is the X-26 or the S-200 is a better buy. Stinger works with the Federal Bureau of Prisons, US Marshalls Office, and other large agencies. Several thousand instructors and more and more agencies choosing the S-200. Why is that?
Did I say the S-200. No. You stated the big cities Taser does business with and I named a few that Stinger does business with. I did not state which product. Stop looking into the past. Look at right now. Today: The X-26 vrs the S-200. More and more departments TODAY are picking the S-200 when comparing.
Gee, I might not be a rocket scientist but go back and listen to the first five seconds of the video. Kevin introduces himself as being from Stinger Systems. This is an advertisement and is not worth the bandwidth that it takes up. Do your own testing, but be sure to add a goal or task to be performed. Yes, I've been shot with both, yes they both hurt just like everyone is saying, but one really does work better. Test if for yourself, but do it right.
I am not disputing that they should have had a task. But you have to admit that the Stinger has some serious take down power and the CRT video does not accurately represent that take down power. You need to compare the new Stinger with the Taser. I agree that people should test both for themself and make the best decision.
I'm only a law student and don't know much about your devices. After reading this, I have become interested. It looks to me like Taser and CRT are scared and only can put down the company.
That is exactly what I have been saying all along. Taser brainwashes these people and they end up walking around with Taser eyes that are so blurry it distorts their ability to see the truth. If you are smart, you would check out the Stinger for yourself and not believe CRT's garbage study that obviously does not show what the Stinger today is capable of.
I have read through these posts and have been in law enforcement for over 40 years. I can tell you that the Stinger and Taser are both good products. I have carried both on duty. Taser is more painful -- I will give them that. The Stinger will lock you up and they do have a better dart spread hands down. I think it comes down to personal taste. Get you hands on these and see what you like. Some will like the Taser and some will like the Stinger.
I could not agree more. There are to many conflicting studies out their and the best thing to do is look at both the Taser and the Stinger and make a decision for yourself.
Very concerned citizen here. I am just finishing law school and I did some research about Taser. Powers V. Taser: "Rick Smith, Tom Smith, and Doug Klint are responsible for hiding and covering up information on the extent of injuries to officers during Taser trainings. I was instructed to alter the spreadsheets and saw them destroy documents. They said the lawsuits would go away because there is no proof."
Very simple solution to all this. Get shot with a new Taser and a new Stinger and see if they both take you down. Then look at the features and price. Look at the durability and then make a decision. I don't believe the Crt video because I don't believe the people in this video are acting and I think Crt is compensated by Taser. Also, someone said that there is a Taser Instructor in the video that was present. Was their a Stinger Instructor during Crt's video. I doubt it.
Those wearing taser blinders, taser representative, and CRT representatives obviously have an agenda. Taser sponsored the CRT video and it was conducted by people affiliated with Taser . They attack a good company that has trained thousands of instructor's world wide. The Stinger works. Those interested in stun products, all you have to do is get your hands on a modern version of the Stinger and take a hit. Stingers are used on hundreds of agencies world wide with proven results.
Do you really think the officers in this video faked this. Come on. If you watch closly you can see on the left several people from the public look to be their and several cameras are going. Do you really think this is made up? Come on. Take off you Taser blinders and open you eyes.
I have an idea. If those that oppose this weapon that obviously works, go to stingers website and request one to evaluate. If you're in law enforcement, it is free. Zap yourself and then post a comment. It seems that studies Taser did or CRT are old and don't reflect the weapon in this video. Maybe it is time to do a new study crt with a modern Stinger.
Yeah right, like that will ever happen. They will get their hands on one and screw with it just like the CRT people did. Have a police agency that uses them bring one to the study with Taser and Stinger present. Wait, that will never happen. Taser and CRT's agenda is to discredit Stinger and prevent people from finding out about Stingers superior weapons. Taser will never sponsor a fair comparison.
Ive been hit with the Stinger and the TASER. The TASER is a far better weapon. Furthermore the CRT video was done professionally with standards set forth by hte scientific community, this video looks like a bunch of inbred retards zapping each other. Look into the facts, look into the company, Stinger, there is nothing there.
How long ago were you hit with the Stinger? I am sure by looking at this video that advances have been made. Everyone can see that you have taser blinders on. The Stinger will knock you down. Take a hit now with a current version of the Stinger and video tape it.
By the way, I should comment that I am Taser Certified and have been hit with both as well. I use to carry a Taser on duty and the cartridge kept falling out evertime I would take it out of the holster. Tasers are junk and I know this from personal experience.
Yes taser has competition and the more I am looking into it, the more I see that the only thing taser has going is that they been around longer and that crt video. In the long run, it looks to me like the stinger is a better deal. I also see that stigner sells to several federal agencies and have trained thousands of instructors.
The Stinger may not be the better deal. You need to compare both and then make a decision. How can you say the Stinger is better without comparing it.
Agreed. Why all the attacks against Stinger. They put out a video that made CRT's video look like I always suspected and now they are so upset they are attacking Stinger because of comments made on this post.
I'm a police chief in southern Florida. I budgeted 2008 for taser. After seeing this video I'm seriously considering stinger. Crt video scared me off a little. After seeing all the information out their and talking to stinger, I don't trust the crt video. Most of you are right in that those who appear very upset about this video are probably with taser or crt.
We have a problem here. This video and the one by bacolinienterprises clearly show the power of the Stinger. I heard Stinger offers demonstrations to any department. But, for some reason we have idiots posting stuff discrediting two videos and supporting a video that Taser sponsored. It is so obvious to us all that those posting comments -- still - discrediting Stinger obviously work for CRT or Taser. If you idiots still think Taser is better, take a hit with a Stinger and then talk.
I am a huge supporter of Taser and think they work great, but after looking into Stinger, they seem just as good and much less expensive. The dart spread with Stinger is better. I think departments need to compare and gave demonstrations with both companies.
I called Stinger Systems earlier today and they said that they will do a demonstration anywhere and anytime side by side with Taser. I called Taser and they will not do a side by side. Why is Taser scared?
I just got done seeing that video by CRT. I think it is pretty safe to say that CRT can be bought. I know a Taser Instructor and he said that Taser will never agree to take a hit with the Stinger on video.
after seeing some of these comments i can see that their are stinger supporters and taser supporters. so i did some checking. i saw david r. wilson and charlene wilson vrs taser international where taser ceo ordered employees to destroy records that show officer injuries with tasers: file no: 406-CV-179-HLM.
All of this fuss over a weapon. All you need to grow up. I've been a Police Officer more than most of you been on this planet. I have some inside information about this video. I heard that the guy in the mustache is a Taser Instructor. He is the one that says "Taser, Taser, Taser." Look at all those cameras. Anyone that thinks this video was rigged is stupid. I've got an idea. Lets get a stinger guy and a taser guy together and film it. Will stinger and taser agree to do it?
People, this competition is already over. Taser has already mastered the technology Stinger is just now starting to sell. Taser has a contract with the The Department of Defense and a lot of huge police agencies in the U.S. and internationally. Stinger is too late!
man, whats your problem. they are right. you guys are probably from taser. apple had the market until microsoft came along. after reading all these comments, it looks like taser is running scared. i'd love to see the ceo get hit with the gun on this video.
How can you say this competition is over when less than 10% of cops carry electronic weapons knowing that in 10 years that will probably change to 90%. I agree that the competition has just started.
mjsmith245: Why can't you accept the fact that the stinger weapon made today is superior to the taser. You are obviously from Taser or CRT. The CRT video was poorly made and very very biased. Now everyone can see it.
I have been an officer for over 20 years and I just saw that video by CRT. I also know some of the officers at the Navo pd. I heard that several citizens and the general public were present and saw the whole thing, but the video does not show them. After watching the CRT video very closely, I can't believe how set up that was. Not only do I not trust CRT opinion anymore, I will never use another taser out of fear of what other studies taser and CRT falsified.
Yeah, I did my research to. The funny thing is that these taser instructors and CRT representatives think that because I am a concerned police officer that did my homework and believe in the stinger, I must somehow be affiliated with stinger.
Obviously you are from CRT or from Taser. Why on earth would someone get fired up about a video that reveals CRT's worthless credibility. Why? Unless you are from Taser or CRT. Fine, have one of the guys from CRT get hit by one of the guys in the video if you can simply walk through the stinger.
I believe CRT has been hit with the Stinger and all have fought through it. In addition, all three members are police officers whose lives, I would think, depend on the equipment they carry. A little homework next time?
If you had a brain, you can see that the old man was held up. He specifically said he would be on the ground if he was not being held up. Taser - 36 inch dart spread at 21 inches. Stinger - 21 inches. Taser is garbage. Look at the web for bacolinienterprises for a study compairing the two.
No, the video you had CRT make is very poorly made and very biased. Stinger Systems looks to be a stong company that does not back down. Taser will be second in the market, just like the other example - Apple fist and then Microsoft. When Taser smells fear they like to sue. To bad Taser looses everytime. Maybe I should be carefull what I say, I don't want my window shot out and I don't want to be followed by cops like those that speak out aganist Taser.
Go to CRT's Website and read the profiles. They are all tied in with Taser. Who cares where it was or who held the camera. Ask Tasers CEO if his garage is a good place to test the Taser on pigs - he thought it was. People look at credibility and CRT's is shot. You think because the video is more professional it is more credible.
Obviously, a police officer should be the best source for a comment, not an "independent" consultant who are Taser instructors and on the board of advisor's to Taser. CRT is a SCAM and a JOKE. Why don't one of the guys from CRT come forward and let the people in the video hit them with the stinger and lets watch them try and fight through it. Nice try Taser instructors on your garbage study. Now everyone can see that CRT has NO credibility.
They got TThey said the Taser is pain compliant, Stinger uses newer technology that they said is less painfulased and Stung and bought the Stinger. Obviously, a police officer should be the best source for a comment not an "independent
Love how the old man walks through the stinger and the TASER Locks him up completely. TASER is more effective and proven tool. Keep trying stinger, maybe you can pull yourselves out of debt this year!
Agreed ghrack. I think the chief needs to go back and review his own video. I am convinced the "results" would have been different if the test subjects were have been given a goal! No one disputes the fact that they hurt. Seriously, let's see something objective and believable.
Hey, Mr. I just signed up for this account today because I am with taser or crt, why don't you get shot with one of those from the guys in the video. We can see something objective and believable from that joke crt video that looks fake as hell and is conducted by taser instructors and funded by taser.
You don't know anything. You really think those officers and all those people in that room made all this up. Mr. Taser Instructor or CRT Person, get a life. We all see that you have no credibility.
You are actually dumber than the last guy. Are you blind? Who walks through it - moran, he was being held up. What, do you have Taser blinders on that you can't see that or do they pay you well?
The stinger is a piece of crap, these tests they put together are flawed and half-assed. What kind of medical testing to they have? What kind of exposes do they have? I wouldnt get hit with a stinger its unreliable and untested. CRT is a well known company that does tests on many differenty product across all fields. Stinger doesnt like them cause they showed their product to be crap.
Am i the only one who gets a boner when women get tased?

KimboSlice314 3 years ago
KimboSlice314: 1. The NIJ study was done on a 2005 weapon before the Stinger was even developed. In fact, Taser releasing this information is why Stinger is suing them. They could not even obtain the NIJ study through public releases. They had to do so through the freedom of information act. Taser gave Stinger the win in that lawsuit because they knew the 2005 gun does not represent the gun Stinger is selling now.
jimjenkin8531 3 years ago
KimboSlice314: 2. The SEC is not watching Stinger closely. It's over, not founded. Here is an SEC case that Taser went through: "While creating the spreadsheet, I became aware that there were hundreds, if not thousands, of injuries noted on the volunteer exposure reports. At that time, the SEC and the Department of Justice were investigating the company concerning the safety of the device..." Stinger not investigated by DOJ. Taser investigated by both DOJ and SEC.
jimjenkin8531 3 years ago
KimboSlice314: 3. Taser did not score a big blow against Stinger in the patent lawsuit. Stingers request to have Tasers original patent reviewed was denied, nothing more. That has nothing to do with the lawsuit in the grand scheme of things. Stinger is suing Taser and Taser is suing Stinger. The competition is very heated and Taser has sued every company that has ever tried to compete. All paten attorneys agree that Tasers suit has NO merit.
jimjenkin8531 3 years ago
KimboSlice314: 4. Taser is not moving into the electronic shield business. They are simply making a kit available. It is not even a real shield. They are not even making them right now and it only remains an idea. Taser announced this shortly after they announced stock buy back as a result of new 52 week stock lows. It's just an idea at this point. If you want to consider ideas only then consider this idea -- Stinger is developing stun technology to be fired from standard shotguns.
jimjenkin8531 3 years ago
KimboSlice314: 5. Sure, some of these issues initially raise doubts. Then Police Administrators research and read between the lines. They are smart. They don't believe all the crap all over the internet. They understand the new S-200 sold today is 100% different than the old NIJ study. They know CRT study to be bias -- that obvious. Funny that an executive of Taser is not in business with CRT. Administrators know the desperate attempts Taser is taking.

What I found most compelling about the Stinger S-200 ECD is its waveform technology. jenkin8532 3 years ago

The Stinger now is a great weapon.
chiefofpolice65 4 years ago
You should know that the new stingers has an American flag on it because they are made here in America. If you obtain a stinger that does not have that pictures on the gun, it is not a current version that is deployed. Also, please note that companies can not disclose what agencies bought until the bidding process is over and its made public. All stingers reps were hired last Nov and the process takes several months. Trust me when I say a lot of people are checking out the Stinger and love it.
chiefofpolice65 4 years ago
So are you in effect saying that no agency has completed the bidding process to purchase Stinger's yet? That directly flies in the face of numerous press releases put out by stinger over the last couple of years. Were they lying or are you?
CRTChis 4 years ago
Chris, I suspect that Stinger would not give you a new S-200 because of how far you went out of your way to discredit Stinger. Everyone knows that your study does not deal with the new weapon. If Stinger gives you a round two, what happens if you pull the same stuff. In business, people are offered only so many opportunities before they don't trust and don't want to give a person a second chance. My advice is to stop arguing in the past and find a way to obtain a new S-200.
chiefofpolice65 4 years ago
Chief, how about if you fly on out here with yours, and we'll go ahead and do the test. It's an open invitation. No Taser reps, no Stinger reps, just cops (you are a cop aren't you?) testing equipment. Let's have the equipment speak for itself.
CRTChis 4 years ago
Chris from CRT, why don't you get hooked up with the new S-200 and then talk. You seem to back your study as if it still represents the Stinger that is around now a day's. Why don't you simply take another hit. It would be impossible to prove the new Stinger will give the same results as the old one. Even if you do that, we will all know something funny happened because 100 other studies will show otherwise. Why don't you do us a favor and admit you were paid off by Taser. We all know that.
chiefofpolice65 4 years ago
Well Chief, First of all, CRT did not accept any money from any source, Taser or otherwise to do the study, or to present it at any of the conferences where it has been peer reviewed and accepted. The S-200, according to the Stinger salesperson I spoke to at length about setting up a second round of testing is in fact the correct generation. We offered to repeat the tests with any in-service S-200.
CRTChis 4 years ago
We also have repeatedly offered to Stinger sales reps and executives to repeat our tests with any in-service S-200 from a police agency actually using them. When we got down to agreeing on a date the salesperson in charge was ordered by Gruder and the VP to discontinue contact with CRT and was ordered NOT to set up the re-test we agreed to. Why is Stinger afriad to perform this test you are suggesting? I still have those e-mails.
CRTChis 4 years ago
I have asked many times for Stinger to provide the contact information for any agency of size that has deployed Stingers for over a year. As you know the agency depicted here serves a population smaller than my police agency, with a police force smaller than one of my parol squads. I have a feeling that their experience with LE use of force is very limited. I'll bet that one squad here has more confrontations in a month than they do in a year. How many actual field applications have they had?
CRTChis 4 years ago

Of course the live presentation with video and photos is more informative but the written report still makes it clear that CRT is right
CRTChis 4 years ago
Wrong Chris from CRT. The S-200 that was used this last December was the old one provided a very long time ago. Stinger never provided the NIJ a new version. One again you are wrong and we can all see you are desperate to defend a study that is at odds with all new studies with the new S-200. I also know Jim Jenkins and he knows a lot of Police Chief's such as myself. I can promise all those reading this that CRT is false and the NIJ and CRT study used old weapons, no matter when they got them.

Brent376 4 years ago
Are you another Taser homer? That "study" was commissioned in 2005 and performed on a gun that Stinger no longer sells. Pick up a glove and get in the game.
Stingstun 4 years ago
Stiger Systems is just a second rate, copycat and your guns are ugly. Your product also uses gun powder to launch the barbs which means it could be classified as a firearm. Also any moron can figure out if Stingers use 75% less power they are nowhere near as effective as Tasers. Im also pretty pissed off that you wont provide pretty pink Tasers like the C2 for law abiding citizens because you don't trust the public"\
Brent376 4 years ago
Brent376 4 years ago
Todays S-200 vrs the X-26!
jimjenkin8531 4 years ago
After CRT's career with law enforcement ends due to credability, their is always people looking for studies to be done on UFO's. Perhapes Chris from CRT can lead the CRT group to study UFO's.
jimjenkin8531 4 years ago
CRT is a scam. They are paid Taser Master Instructors. They did demonstrations for Taser. Credible Police Officers from Nauvoo PD stated on film that their is no way in the world they could have gotton the resutls they did. Why agencies still buy from Stinger is probably because the know CRT is a joke. I hope Stinger keeps discrediting CRT as long as they are making false statements about the current version of the S-200. CRT is a joke and are lie. Don't trust them. How can you trust them?
jimjenkin8531 4 years ago
CRT is a SCAM. They buy because they know your video to be not credible.
jimjenkin8531 4 years ago
Stinger has a one hand cartridge eject system that allows officers to reload faster. Chris from CRT is trying to discredit a company that makes a superior product. They are the only company in the world with these falsified findings. If what Chris from CRT is saying, other credible studies would have shown the same thing and it would be illegal for Stinger to sell a dangerous product. Chris from CRT looks very unprofessional arguing with your average joe on this site that likes Stingers. Hothead
jimjenkin8531 4 years ago
CRT has simply presented the results of reality based testing so that Officers can make an informed decision. If you look at the videos we don't name one product as being superior, we allow the results to speak for themselves and the volunteers voice their own opinions. If your average joe likes Stinger so much, please share with us any three agencies of 500 officers or more that have deployed 100 or more Stingers for more than a year? I'd like to interview someone with that experience.
CRTChis 4 years ago
The current version of the S-200 has only been out for a few months now and the one you used to test was probably an old version or it malfunctioned. Because it has only been out for a few months now, how can you expect that they have been around for a year or more. The new Stinger is NEW and the current Stinger is better than the Taser. A NEW side-by-side will show that using the NEW Stinger.
jimjenkin8531 4 years ago
Gladly, Send one on over, you are welcome to come witness it yourself if you like. We will use the same protocol, even the same volunteers if they are willing, and recreate this test with the "new" version. Shall we procure them from an agency currently using them to make sure they are in fact production models?
CRTChis 4 years ago
Stinger has pulse groups per second and a higher pulse duratation. More micro seconds and more direct Amps for knock down power. Darts penatrate more clothing and the cartridges are more reliable in cold weather. Taser sells their law enforcement weapons to the public and makes them in pink with build in MP-3 Players with songs "don't taze me bro". Stinger has an internal cartridge and better safety switches and off the shelf batteries that get 300 uses. Taser is a cheap toy that always breaks.
jimjenkin8531 4 years ago
Chris from CRT, a certified Police Officer that says so right on his webpage is publically lieing about Stinger. This is fraud. CRT can not be trusted. CRT was paid by Taser for being a Master Instructor during the same time these testings took place. It can't be independant. That is impossible. Stingers dart spread is 24 inches at 20 feet. Tasers is 34 inches. Taser uses a primer that explodes and darts are ultimately launced - will probably need to reclassify as firearms soon anyways.
jimjenkin8531 4 years ago
Yes, Chris is a Police Officer and certfied expert on less-lethal weapons. Has done three television shows (look for Guinea Pig on YouTube) and taught police officers in eleven countries. Chris holds master instructor certifications or better from mulitple schools both governmental and vendor. We also have the e-mails where all three members of CRT asked to become certified Stinger instructors and were denied by the CEO. Again CRT does not sell product it is the Stinger salesperson with bias
CRTChis 4 years ago
Chris from CRT is a Taser Master Instructor. He is trying hard to harm a better weapon. No toxic metals exist or anything like that. That is an outright lie. The members of CRT were made Master Instructors by Taser and I know people that know the CRT people. They have done demonstrations for Taser and got compensated for some work they did by Taser. Don't let these Taser paid individuals influence your decision. Every study and current side-by-side will disagree with CRT's findings.
jimjenkin8531 4 years ago
Wow, you really shouldn't put a lie into writing like that that can so easily be dis-proven. The residue is in fact toxic. Anyone out there with a Stinger can simply fire the cartrige, collect the darts (handle them correctly to avoid contamination) and present them to the crime lab for analysis. If your lab is too busy to do it do a GSW residue test. While you are at it look for the primer anvils. They are also propelled downrange and are heavily contaminted.
CRTChis 4 years ago
Go to the World Wide Web: breibart tv/?p=45524&comments=1 and check out the associated press. The world says one thing, CRT says another. Who are you going to believe. CRT who admits withholding information from police agencies and whose results differ than all other tests. Do you trust everyone else that says one thing or CRT. Hi, I am from CRT, the whole world disagrees with our findings and we were once paid by Taser, but trust us. We also see UFO's and do studies on UFO's.
jimjenkin8531 4 years ago
You might want to be careful with those "whole World" statements. There are some great studies by some well respected researchers, with doctorate degrees currently under the peer review process that agree with our findings. The peer review process is lengthy, but ensures proper scientific methodology. Legitimate Law Enforcement personnel can conact me for that information.
CRTChis 4 years ago
Hi, I am from CRT. We are honest people. I found horrible toxic elements and kept it a secret from police forces until my credability is in question. Now I need to get back at Stinger so I also feel the need to bring up the SEC stuff, which is all old stuff that happened years ago and should a lot like Tasers orginal complaint. A better product was made and your company refuses to mention anyting about that. Trust worthy Chris from CRT who CURRENTLY holds no contracts with Taser wants revenge!!
jimjenkin8531 4 years ago
Nope, no secret, it has been peer reviewed in several presentations to Law Enforcement and forensic groups. I have no need for revenge, just resent you harming members of the law enforcement profession to try and make a buck. I'd hate to be the department expert witness trying to explain why we knowingly injected toxic elements into a person who was resisting and did not pose a more substantial threat.
CRTChis 4 years ago
As far as bringing up the SEC lawsuit against Stinger and the CEO, I only bring that up so that those few readers who go and look it up, read if for themselves, can see that many of those statements you made if previous postings and comments were false. I know, now you are going to lump the Securities and Exchange Commission in with Cops, Forensic, Scientists, and Taser as all dishonest people out to harm you. Their only customers are the Taxpayers and investors.
CRTChis 4 years ago
It is obvious that CRT does in fact have an agenda. Note, "no CURRENT contracts or consulting for either company." CURRENT is the key word, but what about at the time of the crt bias study. Taser uses bigger primers that they make versus Stingers well known company for their primers. If toxic elements were discovered, why did you not make the law enforcement community aware of this. You know why - because its not true. Only now are you upset when your credability is in question.
jimjenkin8531 4 years ago
Actually, whithin the forensic community the toxic elements are well known and documented, they just haven't made the leap to common knowledge yet. Yes, Taser uses a primer to release the nirogen, but since compressed gas is the propellant driving the probes, no toxic heavy metals were present. Stinger on the other hand uses primers as the direct propulsion method for the probes, resulting in visible fouling that contains the stuff you wouldn't want injected into you.
CRTChis 4 years ago
Take it easy Chris. You will end up in a lot of trouble making these false statements. Time will tell. Fact: Your study does not reflect the S-200 being sold today. Your study will be different than all studies other companies that are independent does. Keep defending your study even after 100 other studies prove you wrong. You look like an ass and several people no longer trust your company. Keep up the good work.
jimjenkin8531 4 years ago
Well thank you for jumping in with both feet. Since we've been down this path before, please tell us, how many models of S-200 does Stinger make? Which is the most current and when was this change made? Previous communications from your directors indicate that there is only one model of S-200, since there was no recall on the previous underpowered ones.
CRTChis 4 years ago
Now, as far as the salesperson's false statements about Stinger taking over the market place, I belive that you'll find the SEC disagrees. You can do your own research. Go to the SEC's dot gov website, look under litigation releases for the January 28th lawsuit filed by the Securities and Exchange Commission against Stinger. They did their homework, you can too. Read for yourself, do your own testing, and stop listening to people with something to gain by pumping sales.CRT doesn't sell product
CRTChis 4 years ago
Another concern for those who might be using these devices, in testing or operationally would be the propellant used. We all know that gunshot residue contains toxic elements, and primers are worse. Shall we get into a discussion of the part of the study, again independent and not funded by anyone, that reveals the contents of the propellant residue? I'd be happy to discuss those results in this open and public forum if you'd like to continue to bash our credibilty under various screen names.
CRTChis 4 years ago
Hi, This is Chris from CRT Less Lethal. I haven't bothered to respond to this poor man's marketing compaign until now. Yes, I'll use my real name and identify myself properly. The CRT video is real, the results are real, using an S-200. Taser did not pay a dime for that test, and all of us are independant, with no current contracts or consulting for either company. We all hold multiple certifications for many companies. If you don't like the results, make a better product.
CRTChis 4 years ago
I dont understand why the companies have to Fight it out with each other. If the stinger works then great! Its another company giving LE a takedown tool. I as of now use Taser brand devices and I am happy with them. I am just thankful that we have less lethal tech out there to safely stop attackers. I think the real results will come out in police reports from officers who use stinger on the street.
Brent376 4 years ago
Another department that actually looks at both and goes with Stinger. A lot of that going on right now.
jimjenkin8531 4 years ago
WI, over 140. The PD next door has Tasers and is talking about replacing them with the Stinger after looking at both.
ricksetherland11 4 years ago
My Chief just decided to go with the Stinger after the same guy in the video came out and did a demonstration. He said that every department he did a demonstration for has either bought the Stinger or is in the process of moving forward. It looks like it's true, people really do pick the Stinger when comparing.
ricksetherland11 4 years ago
Rick, what state are you in and how many officers does your department have?
mjsmith245 4 years ago
It is a great weapon for those that actually take the time to check it out.
jimjenkin8531 4 years ago
Just got my hands on a Stinger 200. This thing put me on the ground. Two thumbs up!!
chiefofpolice65 4 years ago
I am sure once Taser looses the law suit resulting from the CEO ordering officer injury documents caused by the X-26 to be destroyed, I will be curious to know what the number says then. You know what, none of this matters. So what if Taser is a dirty company. The point is that the Stinger works very well and is a good buy.
jimjenkin8531 4 years ago
Taser has gone wireless. Has Stinger?
Taser has contracts with the Defense Department, California HP, LASD, LVMPD, Houston PD, and numerous other large agencies. Stinger????
One more thing. Taser's market cap: $935 mil
Stinger's market cap: $3.5 million
mjsmith245 4 years ago
Another person with Taser blinders. Rick, listen. This post is to determine is the X-26 or the S-200 is a better buy. Stinger works with the Federal Bureau of Prisons, US Marshalls Office, and other large agencies. Several thousand instructors and more and more agencies choosing the S-200. Why is that?
jimjenkin8531 4 years ago
Very misleading Jim. The US Marshalls and the Bureau of Prisons have not bought any S-200s. They use the Stinger Band-It, not the S-200.
mjsmith245 4 years ago
Did I say the S-200. No. You stated the big cities Taser does business with and I named a few that Stinger does business with. I did not state which product. Stop looking into the past. Look at right now. Today: The X-26 vrs the S-200. More and more departments TODAY are picking the S-200 when comparing.
jimjenkin8531 4 years ago
Great job, Kevin.
Way to discredit with modern day technology. People can see for themselves the truth.
If you compare Quality, price, lead-time, fulfillment, warranty, and sales product knowledge you can't go wrong with Stinger.
peyoteros 4 years ago
Gee, I might not be a rocket scientist but go back and listen to the first five seconds of the video. Kevin introduces himself as being from Stinger Systems. This is an advertisement and is not worth the bandwidth that it takes up. Do your own testing, but be sure to add a goal or task to be performed. Yes, I've been shot with both, yes they both hurt just like everyone is saying, but one really does work better. Test if for yourself, but do it right.
Bluescott 4 years ago
I am not disputing that they should have had a task. But you have to admit that the Stinger has some serious take down power and the CRT video does not accurately represent that take down power. You need to compare the new Stinger with the Taser. I agree that people should test both for themself and make the best decision.
jimjenkin8531 4 years ago
I'm only a law student and don't know much about your devices. After reading this, I have become interested. It looks to me like Taser and CRT are scared and only can put down the company.
concernedcitizen546 4 years ago
That is exactly what I have been saying all along. Taser brainwashes these people and they end up walking around with Taser eyes that are so blurry it distorts their ability to see the truth. If you are smart, you would check out the Stinger for yourself and not believe CRT's garbage study that obviously does not show what the Stinger today is capable of.
jimjenkin8531 4 years ago
I have read through these posts and have been in law enforcement for over 40 years. I can tell you that the Stinger and Taser are both good products. I have carried both on duty. Taser is more painful -- I will give them that. The Stinger will lock you up and they do have a better dart spread hands down. I think it comes down to personal taste. Get you hands on these and see what you like. Some will like the Taser and some will like the Stinger.
mensoreb 4 years ago 4
I could not agree more. There are to many conflicting studies out their and the best thing to do is look at both the Taser and the Stinger and make a decision for yourself.
heatherlemke 4 years ago
I agree with you 100%. I perfer the Taser brand product.
Brent376 4 years ago
That is the information I found.
concernedcitizen546 4 years ago
Very concerned citizen here. I am just finishing law school and I did some research about Taser. Powers V. Taser: "Rick Smith, Tom Smith, and Doug Klint are responsible for hiding and covering up information on the extent of injuries to officers during Taser trainings. I was instructed to alter the spreadsheets and saw them destroy documents. They said the lawsuits would go away because there is no proof."
concernedcitizen546 4 years ago
Very simple solution to all this. Get shot with a new Taser and a new Stinger and see if they both take you down. Then look at the features and price. Look at the durability and then make a decision. I don't believe the Crt video because I don't believe the people in this video are acting and I think Crt is compensated by Taser. Also, someone said that there is a Taser Instructor in the video that was present. Was their a Stinger Instructor during Crt's video. I doubt it.
heatherlemke 4 years ago 2
Those wearing taser blinders, taser representative, and CRT representatives obviously have an agenda. Taser sponsored the CRT video and it was conducted by people affiliated with Taser . They attack a good company that has trained thousands of instructor's world wide. The Stinger works. Those interested in stun products, all you have to do is get your hands on a modern version of the Stinger and take a hit. Stingers are used on hundreds of agencies world wide with proven results.
jimjenkin8531 4 years ago
im sure you dont work for stinger either, and im sure this home video wasnt paid for by stinger. cmon, if testing were free there would be no prob.
ghrack 4 years ago
Do you really think the officers in this video faked this. Come on. If you watch closly you can see on the left several people from the public look to be their and several cameras are going. Do you really think this is made up? Come on. Take off you Taser blinders and open you eyes.
jimjenkin8531 4 years ago
I have an idea. If those that oppose this weapon that obviously works, go to stingers website and request one to evaluate. If you're in law enforcement, it is free. Zap yourself and then post a comment. It seems that studies Taser did or CRT are old and don't reflect the weapon in this video. Maybe it is time to do a new study crt with a modern Stinger.
mamathab 4 years ago 2
Yeah right, like that will ever happen. They will get their hands on one and screw with it just like the CRT people did. Have a police agency that uses them bring one to the study with Taser and Stinger present. Wait, that will never happen. Taser and CRT's agenda is to discredit Stinger and prevent people from finding out about Stingers superior weapons. Taser will never sponsor a fair comparison.
jimjenkin8531 4 years ago
Ive been hit with the Stinger and the TASER. The TASER is a far better weapon. Furthermore the CRT video was done professionally with standards set forth by hte scientific community, this video looks like a bunch of inbred retards zapping each other. Look into the facts, look into the company, Stinger, there is nothing there.
ghrack 4 years ago
How long ago were you hit with the Stinger? I am sure by looking at this video that advances have been made. Everyone can see that you have taser blinders on. The Stinger will knock you down. Take a hit now with a current version of the Stinger and video tape it.
jimjenkin8531 4 years ago
By the way, I should comment that I am Taser Certified and have been hit with both as well. I use to carry a Taser on duty and the cartridge kept falling out evertime I would take it out of the holster. Tasers are junk and I know this from personal experience.
jimjenkin8531 4 years ago
The Stinger sure does a good job taking those inbred retards down.
heatherlemke 4 years ago
Yes taser has competition and the more I am looking into it, the more I see that the only thing taser has going is that they been around longer and that crt video. In the long run, it looks to me like the stinger is a better deal. I also see that stigner sells to several federal agencies and have trained thousands of instructors.
chiefofpolice65 4 years ago
I am pretty sure Stinger has been around longer than Taser. Taser developed the projectile stun weapon first. Stinger advanced that technology.
jimjenkin8531 4 years ago
The Stinger may not be the better deal. You need to compare both and then make a decision. How can you say the Stinger is better without comparing it.
heatherlemke 4 years ago
Taser has competition. I did not even know that. I thought it was just the Taser
mamathab 4 years ago
I think the attacks are because crt never thought they would get caught. Now they want to discredit stinger.
chiefofpolice65 4 years ago
Agreed. Why all the attacks against Stinger. They put out a video that made CRT's video look like I always suspected and now they are so upset they are attacking Stinger because of comments made on this post.
thomasruins 4 years ago
I'm a police chief in southern Florida. I budgeted 2008 for taser. After seeing this video I'm seriously considering stinger. Crt video scared me off a little. After seeing all the information out their and talking to stinger, I don't trust the crt video. Most of you are right in that those who appear very upset about this video are probably with taser or crt.
chiefofpolice65 4 years ago
We have a problem here. This video and the one by bacolinienterprises clearly show the power of the Stinger. I heard Stinger offers demonstrations to any department. But, for some reason we have idiots posting stuff discrediting two videos and supporting a video that Taser sponsored. It is so obvious to us all that those posting comments -- still - discrediting Stinger obviously work for CRT or Taser. If you idiots still think Taser is better, take a hit with a Stinger and then talk.
ricksetherland11 4 years ago
I am a huge supporter of Taser and think they work great, but after looking into Stinger, they seem just as good and much less expensive. The dart spread with Stinger is better. I think departments need to compare and gave demonstrations with both companies.
policemaniac72 4 years ago
Are you still a huge supporter of Taser?
jimjenkin8531 4 years ago
I called Stinger Systems earlier today and they said that they will do a demonstration anywhere and anytime side by side with Taser. I called Taser and they will not do a side by side. Why is Taser scared?
policemaniac72 4 years ago
I just got done seeing that video by CRT. I think it is pretty safe to say that CRT can be bought. I know a Taser Instructor and he said that Taser will never agree to take a hit with the Stinger on video.
shelahertz 4 years ago
after seeing some of these comments i can see that their are stinger supporters and taser supporters. so i did some checking. i saw david r. wilson and charlene wilson vrs taser international where taser ceo ordered employees to destroy records that show officer injuries with tasers: file no: 406-CV-179-HLM.
robbermann333 4 years ago
All of this fuss over a weapon. All you need to grow up. I've been a Police Officer more than most of you been on this planet. I have some inside information about this video. I heard that the guy in the mustache is a Taser Instructor. He is the one that says "Taser, Taser, Taser." Look at all those cameras. Anyone that thinks this video was rigged is stupid. I've got an idea. Lets get a stinger guy and a taser guy together and film it. Will stinger and taser agree to do it?
shelahertz 4 years ago
People, this competition is already over. Taser has already mastered the technology Stinger is just now starting to sell. Taser has a contract with the The Department of Defense and a lot of huge police agencies in the U.S. and internationally. Stinger is too late!
mjsmith245 4 years ago
man, whats your problem. they are right. you guys are probably from taser. apple had the market until microsoft came along. after reading all these comments, it looks like taser is running scared. i'd love to see the ceo get hit with the gun on this video.
robbermann333 4 years ago
mjsmith245: It looks to me as an officer that the competition has just begun.
ricksetherland11 4 years ago
How can you say this competition is over when less than 10% of cops carry electronic weapons knowing that in 10 years that will probably change to 90%. I agree that the competition has just started.
jimjenkin8531 4 years ago
80% of LE agencies carry a TASER device, do your research.
ghrack 4 years ago
I'm just a law student, but I am very good at research. That statistic is wrong. It is more like 10%. You are not even close my friend.
concernedcitizen546 4 years ago
mjsmith245: Why can't you accept the fact that the stinger weapon made today is superior to the taser. You are obviously from Taser or CRT. The CRT video was poorly made and very very biased. Now everyone can see it.
jasonhenner 4 years ago
I have been an officer for over 20 years and I just saw that video by CRT. I also know some of the officers at the Navo pd. I heard that several citizens and the general public were present and saw the whole thing, but the video does not show them. After watching the CRT video very closely, I can't believe how set up that was. Not only do I not trust CRT opinion anymore, I will never use another taser out of fear of what other studies taser and CRT falsified.
jasonhenner 4 years ago
Are you really Jim Jenkin 8531 (AKA Newid)?
mjsmith245 4 years ago
Who the hell is newid. Is that your mom.
jimjenkin8531 4 years ago
Yeah, I did my research to. The funny thing is that these taser instructors and CRT representatives think that because I am a concerned police officer that did my homework and believe in the stinger, I must somehow be affiliated with stinger.
jimjenkin8531 4 years ago
Jim Jenkins, do you work for Stinger?
mjsmith245 4 years ago
No, just a guy who likes to do his homework. I am sick and tired of Taser sueing every competitor. They loose everytime.
jimjenkin8531 4 years ago
Why are Stinger shares only trading for 18 cents? Is Stinger destined for bankruptcy? They don't seem to be selling many stun guns.
mjsmith245 4 years ago
Obviously you are from CRT or from Taser. Why on earth would someone get fired up about a video that reveals CRT's worthless credibility. Why? Unless you are from Taser or CRT. Fine, have one of the guys from CRT get hit by one of the guys in the video if you can simply walk through the stinger.
jimjenkin8531 4 years ago
I believe CRT has been hit with the Stinger and all have fought through it. In addition, all three members are police officers whose lives, I would think, depend on the equipment they carry. A little homework next time?
sciencewins 4 years ago
If you had a brain, you can see that the old man was held up. He specifically said he would be on the ground if he was not being held up. Taser - 36 inch dart spread at 21 inches. Stinger - 21 inches. Taser is garbage. Look at the web for bacolinienterprises for a study compairing the two.
jimjenkin8531 4 years ago
The Bacolini video was very poorly made and very biased.
mjsmith245 4 years ago
No, the video you had CRT make is very poorly made and very biased. Stinger Systems looks to be a stong company that does not back down. Taser will be second in the market, just like the other example - Apple fist and then Microsoft. When Taser smells fear they like to sue. To bad Taser looses everytime. Maybe I should be carefull what I say, I don't want my window shot out and I don't want to be followed by cops like those that speak out aganist Taser.
jimjenkin8531 4 years ago
I think you mean at 21 feet, not 21 inches.
ricksetherland11 4 years ago
Yeah, I meant to say 21 feet.
jimjenkin8531 4 years ago
Balconi is a joke. He did the video in his backyard. this the kind of testing you want?
ghrack 4 years ago
Go to CRT's Website and read the profiles. They are all tied in with Taser. Who cares where it was or who held the camera. Ask Tasers CEO if his garage is a good place to test the Taser on pigs - he thought it was. People look at credibility and CRT's is shot. You think because the video is more professional it is more credible.
jimjenkin8531 4 years ago
Obviously, a police officer should be the best source for a comment, not an "independent" consultant who are Taser instructors and on the board of advisor's to Taser. CRT is a SCAM and a JOKE. Why don't one of the guys from CRT come forward and let the people in the video hit them with the stinger and lets watch them try and fight through it. Nice try Taser instructors on your garbage study. Now everyone can see that CRT has NO credibility.
jimjenkin8531 4 years ago
