Coming from a guy who has thrown dozens of both American and Russian made grenades in the military, 99% of these videos of guys throwing grenades on Youtube are either not real grenades, or they have been cored out for most of the explosive. Someone made an excuse the underwater a grenade doesn't make a big explosion. Bullshit. If you thrown an M67 or M26 in there, you wouldn't have that weak little burst of fart bubbles. These guys, and many others, got ripped off big time by those Cambodians.

I agree, going through the temples of the Angkor Wat Complex was definitely the highlight of this trip. Also suggest hiring one of the small fishing boats for a cruise up the Mekong River. Cambodia is an incredible place and am happy to see the people there starting to prosper. But hey, it was fun playing with grenades and AK-47's! Besides, it provides a huge income to some entrepreneurial Cambodians and rids the place of huge caches of weapons.

The US has a history of volence and struggle... In fact take a look at the UK, we kicked nearly the entire worlds asses killing and stealing where ever we went...Mind you we don't like the Americans either.
Most of the adventurous places in the world can be considered dangerous one way or another. It takes common sense, an interest and a respect for the locals and most of all don't be an "ugly American". Drawing attention to yourself and being an a-hole can get you in a lot trouble even in whats considered civilized places. Hire a local to drive or guide you, just talk to people and offer them more than they ask and you can be sure you will remain safe. The hotel staff can usually help find.
Um, it really is not. I spent 2 months there and did not have a problems. But then again, you might be one of those American Tourists having $20 bills hanging out of your pocket and complaining about how much you miss your Mercedes. I have had more violent crime happen to me in the USA then anywhere else.
I have been to much worse place, and never had a problem because I play it smart and as AVIACRU explained do not be an A-hole.
