Well its a really cool story, but I lean more towards the entire Ningen phenomenon being a clever hoax. The fact that there had been nothing at all heard of these mythical creatures until a single anonymous japanese man posted all of this evidence in a japanese forum. The majority of the Ningen pictures are obviously artist interpitations, and the only two videos available are very sketchy, and look to be CG with a high grain to cover up their flaws. Very interesting though.

It could just be a yokai, we have tons of diffent types of yokai in japan and I'm pretty sure this is one of them. We have stories about them passed down since thousands of years. Some are scary but most are not violent or anything. Some people truly believe they exist and some don't. My mom & grandmother used to just scare me and my brother for fun when we kids. And know I get to do it to my kids :) it's just about imagination and fun.
