  • That's sooo cool man!!!

  • you should make a porkout map were the pistons act on just the way so you can land the jumps!

  • You have too much spare time on your hands...

  • You realize he is running underwater placing torches and then "blowing" them out

  • @TACOBOY6333 You aren't serious are you ?

  • @TACOBOY6333 it clearly shows that its light stone

  • You should make a download

  • Wow, thats amazing

  • You can also make the actual lightbulb look like its rotating with some pistons pushing 3 blocks around the light source in a circular fashion.

  • what

  • its so wonerful

    and peace ful with joy

  • awsome

  • This is no functional light house, this is light under water >< Light houses shine ABOVE water...

    4.???

    5.Profit

  • @world295 Yeah... I did high level tech assistance as a job for a year... I know how to search for a name. It was a joke, thank you for having enough measurable intelligence to understand that.

  • @ZombieG33K i know you were joking, i was too LOL

  • *Water floods the redstone wiring*

  • That is fucking beast!

  • Awesome, good idée but idle :p

    Nice vid'

  • Nice job putting glowstone under the surface!

  • I like the map. would you mind sharing the seed and coordinates? thnx

  • I would've just put pistons in the lighthouse itself, But its nice, very nice :3

  • Just imaging if a curious person was to dig one block out and all the water spills in

  • So simple, yet a great idea!

  • that genious !! i dont think a tutorial is needed, the way it work is really obvious but i never saw the idea before

  • Make a tutorial!

  • oh, I see what you did there.

  • and here i am making my dirt house xD TROLOLOLOOLOLOO THAT IS SO FUCKIN FUNNY!!!!! GIMME THUMBS UP!!! because tTHIS iks HILARIOUS!!!!

  • You are a wizard sethbling.

Im not a wizard im just sethbling

Well "Just Sethbbling" you, are a wizard

  • AWWWWWWW YEAHHHHH!!!!!!!

ideaflash ftw thank you again my redstone wizard! you make redstone rolodexes like me worth their weight in gold every day

  • ingenious....

  • Your amazing wit redst.

  • i like this. good ideaa

  • nice job!

  • smart

  • this is amazing man!

  • He has 1.....2.....3 videos :D

  • That was pretty good. I think need needs things to minecraft so you can make them into masterpieces

  • Hey seth, you've been a bit quiet lately, what's been up?

  • Yeah, well when you were making this, I made a 4x4x2 dirt hut. XD

  • @FuriousDragonJT NO. NO! BAD FuriousDragonJT. BAD! That is NOT funny. Go stand in the corner and think about what you have done.

  • @Artemis0Maximus Okay... I was just comparing how lame my contraptions are to his.

  • @FuriousDragonJT you think weve never heard of that comment before?

  • @Artemis0Maximus ily for typing this

  • @Artemis0Maximus I mean, at least he didn't say 3x2 (which doesn't make sense because a hut can't be 2D), but you can't FIT in a 4x4x2 hut cuz it's solid dirt~!

  • As impressive as this is, I down't think this can be classed as a "functional" lighthouse

  • @jaycork93 why?

  • @ThePwnedsouthpark The lighthouse isn't functional, but the circular lighting is awesome.

  • @jaycork93 but it dose preform the function of warning about the approaching coastline as well as guiding tired travelers safely home ... in an optimal (rube Goldberg sort of) way. This is both optimal and rube Goldberg because the more needlessly elaborate you make things in mine-craft ... the better.

  • @jaycork93 IT does what it does

  • Clever.....Very clever......

  • @MrJason005 AND FOOLISH! SPINNY BLADE WALLS

  • Now make a moving windmill!

  • Nice job sethbling. If you don't mind, I will now adventure map this jank.

  • i was doing almost exactly this last week but the whole chunks loading the lights one at a time just looks too horrible

  • if you place yourself next to a water block (source or flowing) and use //fix water 50 it'll make a nice even circle of water, level with the block that you're next too, a little easier than //replace water water :)

    Also, BEAST!@!!!$@ sethbling is prooo

  • Clever @sethbling is clever... I would have never thought of making a lighthouse that way!!! :D

  • Yes, but its more like a piston montage.

  • is there a way that you can upload a schematic

  • Cool

  • @snaphappy combine that rotating thing with a light sensor that activates the system when its dark enough O_O

  • @SpiderUpTheWall1 asking him what his settings are aren't going to make your computer any less crappy.. its funny how people always ask this crap. Seth has a nice gaming rig I'm sure.

  • AMAZING LOL

  • Now combine that with this

    /watch?v=yC-kO0XTy74

    (Rotating lighthouse lights)

  • Very nice, good sir.

  • Now do the same thing with the light actually coming from the lighthouse

    please

  • thats funny, my mom has a "lighthouse addiction" too

  • a lot of wokk emm/?

  • I see what you did there

  • Actually the Thomas Jefferson

  • You are the Einstein of minecraft mr sethbling

  • @IFight4God

    I agree

  • You know, it might be more worth it to build a tower of glowstone than go to all the trouble to wire the ocean floor with pistons and redstone.

  • Isn't the light from actual lighthouses shining in a straight line out to sea, not downwards at the shore? How else are boats in the far distance supposed to see the light IRL?

  • This is clever and cool but kinda creepy.

  • It's a lighthouse! I'm saved!

*shkk shkk shkk shkk shkk shkk shkk*

    GODDAMMIT

  • that was smart sethbling

  • Genius :-)

  • Just wow.

  • Wow, that's insane, and if you placed a transparent block correctly, like cobble stairs, no one would even know o_o

  • Is this Banjo & Kazooie music? Sure sounds like it.

  • @SuperToasterBoy Evidently it's "The Snow Queen" by Kevin MacLeod. #Description

  • Great now I need to find Seppos99s' comment

  • epicz

  • Nice twist on an old idea!!

  • FUCKING AWESOME!

  • at first i was like "holy shit how does he focus the light like that?" then i realized it was just an assload of pistons

  • Clever video, it shows the lighthouse, the effect, and how the effect was created in stages, in such a way that it didn't require any captions or commentary. Very nice.

  • That sir, is amazing

  • you blow out a candle... LIKE A BOSS

  • nice video, love the music

  • Simple, but clever !!

  • you have too much time :P Srsly though that's pretty awesome, impracticle but awesome

  • how did you remove the water?

  • @vinesthemonkey I used WorldEdit to replace all of the water with air, did all the construction, and then repeatedly used "//replace water water" to fill the area back in with still water.

  • @sethbling I think /fixwater would have been more efficient for that purpose maybe.

  • @sethbling Use //fixwater, next time

  • @mcpower1 Doesnt work in a sphere only on a certain radius

  • Comment removed

  • @sethbling you know there is a /fixwater command with worldedit.

  • @sethbling You could've just selected the an area around the place where you want the water, and did //replace air water, just FYI

  • @sethbling Why not just use fix water XD (the built in command that does that but better)

  • I could have sworn that it was the light under-water bug glitch. Then i remembered that ur on 1.9

  • why do i feel like this isnt how lighthouses actually work? also sethbling, you should just post how long something took you in the beginning of each video, seeing as how someone always inevitably asks.

  • I made one that's way better/ it functions with pistons

  • @S0LIDFLUX Are you stupid, or did you just not watch the video? -.-' Anyways, that's freaking awesome, Seth. Wayyy better than mine >.<

  • @Iseedeadkittens666 i meant my light source actually comes from the lighthouse, sry

  • @S0LIDFLUX Yeah, so did I. This one's way better :P Not trying to be rude, but this is a LOT more complex and well built than any kind of lighthouse that has the pistons inside of the lighthouse.

  • :O

  • Now remake the same mechanism in the Nether and make the lighthouse itself Sauron's tower.

  • CURSE YOU LIGHT RENDERING!

  • Sethbling never ceases to amaze me.

  • How long did this take you to make

  • @TheNicolla1234 Something like 5 hours. Took a while to get all the non-linear piston wiring right.

  • So the bug that underwater areas stay lit permanently is fixed, then?

  • @Quiltfish It's fixed in 1.9 (which I used to record this video).

  • Seems abit pointless tbh. But still a nice touch of realism.

  • @artemeeb wow he is 12 place in gameing programmer

  • @ps3teb1996 Don't feed the trolls who try to cause controversy.

  • @ps3teb1996 say who?

  • Nice

  • Damn, you actually did this. Now to combine it with CyberGlitch's :L. He said he's got an add-on for his, I wonder if your methods are similar.

  • NICE

  • Pretty

    Fucking

    Cool

  • Liked, awsome job man! :D

  • This is better than the ones I have seen :3

  • Amazinggg

  • Download please :)? It's awesome

  • so friking cool

  • I'm so gonna build one of these for my adventure map.

  • im pretty sure that's how disco makes his displays

  • Woah man. Brilliant. Just brilliant. Why didn't I think of doing something similar until today? Great video.

  • That must be one hell of a loud lighthouse.

  • @Ry0wn I guess there's no need for a fog horn then.

  • @Ry0wn Instead of just light sailors also get guided by sound ;)

  • this would be awesome for a bioshock remake.

  • That lighthouse looks kinda fat...

  • You did it again. Amazing.

  • this wont work well in 1.8.1 due to water saving light and stuff :l

  • Great video!

  • SIXTEENTH!

  • @Seppos99 Oh how ironic your comment is asking for thumbs up then it gets removed because too many thumbs down. HA, suck on that one.

  • @lxxMarkxxl it should happen more. Like, every time.

  • @lxxMarkxxl Not ironic at all. I don't thumbs up any comments that say "Thumbs this up".

  • @xInstAkilL I almost cared what you had to say.

  • @lxxMarkxxl Great job. Fucking with someone who is agreeing with you. Really--nice.

  • @xInstAkilL Pepsi.

  • mhh...

  • LOL MUST TOOK ALOT OF PISTONS
