  • Cool version

  • A VERY GREAT JOB..with my compliments

  • Is it the "FilterSt" patch on the MicroKorg you are using for the VP-330-like strings? Fantastic job btw.

  • so moody ... perfect. thanks for this.

  • This is absolutely amazing!

  • Blade Runner Blue is my all-time favorite musical composition. I have enjoyed your version. Trust me, praise doesn't get better than that, Mr.Daniels

than wipe off youre dick (-:

  • Todas la composiciones de Vangelis son buenísimas sin importar quien las interprete o la toque... todas me gustan

  • fantastic!!!!

  • Hey there - I was wondering whether all the sounds used in your cover come from either the ESQ1, MicroKorg or one of the 3 Rolands (Di, Juno 6 or 106), or if you were using one of those to pilot another synth (if yes which one). Great cover by the way and great programming. I think the effects added also contribute a lot to the sounds being real close to the original. Great job!

  • love it!

  • Mik300 you did a great job,really...

    Really great...

5 big stars nothing else to say.

    Keep the good work

  • Excellent - love it

  • Very good.Maybe Michael and Vangelis are long lost brothers.

  • I know this sounds like blasphemy, but I think this is better than the original.

  • Excellent, as great as the CS80 is, this shows that what really matters is the skill of the player.

  • Very nice indeed...

  • That really moved me

  • Lovely

  • ohh my....

  • the sound of the sintheziser is the same, but vangelis plays more fluently. but is very beautiful, all analogue sinthezisers sound marvelous!....

  • I wish I could get a miniature-version of you to place in the corner of my living space, playing blue BR-like tunes on moody evenings while I'd get acquainted with a full bottle of fine liquor.

  • @mattdk88 AMEN brother

  • @mattdk88 Hey..:):) nice one...

  • godlike !

  • Wish I could play like you. Man this is amazing!

  • There's this guy named Vangelis that clearly ripped you off!!! Outstanding work!! ;)

  • very very nice!!!!!!!!

  • Absolutely amazing. Bravo dude. Gave me chills!

  • Nice:)

  • this is my all time favorite track and you hit all the sounds. the emotion as well. thank you

  • Listening to this makes me want to go watch the movie again. Your playing is just mesmerizing! It's been a few months since you posted anything. Hope all is OK. Thanks again for sharing your talent!

  • not bad at all my freind... every credit to you... may be a run down of your studio components?

  • the main istnrument is fucked up..... sounds horrible

  • This is amazing man. Nice work....I gotta see if you have other stuff up!

  • do you record the sound by connecting everything to computer or the sound is recorded by camera ?

  • wow, this is inspiring! brilliantly done :-)

  • Incredible...

  • great performance.

  • Thanks, after retiring I bought my first used synth on eBay without knowing much about keyboards, and now have a Akai Miniak that I enjoy using to creative new sounds. This vid will remain one of my favorites as it is a fantastic listening journey as well as exciting to be able to watch your movements as you play. Thanks for posting and so far I enjoy listening and watching all of your creations.

  • you guys must all smoke a shit load of weed!!!

  • What is that top right keyboard and sound you are using on that keyboard? Great job recreating this song!

  • this music is alien

  • Bravo! This is oh so inspiring for my own music.

  • Really cool, that song is so soothing.

    Thank you for sharing

  • Can anyone figure out that constant subtle background chord? It slowly fades in and becomes really noticeable at 0:24. Sounds like a Sus4 7th or Sus2 7th but I'm not sure.

  • @bryceguy72 Hi, I'm no good at naming chords, but the notes within the chord I used are..... Bass-F# chord-C# E F#.

  • @mik300z F#5add7... it's just a powerchord with a 7th, no sus.

  • "I never would have tried to cover this..."

Well, thanks God you've changed that idea.

    P E R F E C T work. It's just that simple.

  • Verry Verry good !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hi Michael!

Im Brazilam fan of your work and your Vangelis works my friend....

I am musician and composer and i play play several instruments

Im a big fan of Vangelis too...

Do you not have any CD recorded these songs that you put there?

    Big fan and great work!

  • @romulormachado Do what I have done in the past. Use MP3ify and DL his tunes. I don't think he would mind. This tune sounds great in the car.

  • Great ! Great sound, great playing... great work ! Vangelis certainly would be pleased with your cover

  • QUEDE RAJA, ME QUEDE DORMIDO CON ESTE PAJERO

  • @highspeed1001

  • sa

  • on the face of it... OKish... but the melody is not right... the sound is goood.... but!

  • The very beginning sounds like Antarctica, and then it melts into the Blues we all know and love. Now I can't help thinking of mixing the two themes (and images) together, Blade Runner and Antarctica. Great cover, by the way.

  • I loved this as a kid, it was probably the first soundtrack that pricked my ears up as a child and probably the reason I love music and film so much.

  • Thank you for sharing this! I've listened to the song for years and it was an excellent cover!!! KUDOS!!!!

  • Subscriber for LIFE!

  • This cover is really good, you nailed the vangelis sound perfectly.

If i may ask what notes are you playing on the microkorg emulating the strings sound of the vp-330?

  • @Thenewpoopsmagee Hi, the chord is C#/E/F#

  • Very very nice! Great "Blade Runner" flavor!

Although I would have changed the background sustained chord however, to follow the lead...but that's a minor point and only my opinion.

Nevertheless, a great performance. Glad to the the 'ol ESQ-1 still going strong in there!

    Thumbs-up!

  • You sound so close to Him... I think this is the moment you should start creating the pieces that Vangelis should have played but did not for some reasons... Thank you for what I can hear here on your channel...

  • even the way you aligned the keyboards are similar to Van Gelis.Genius

  • sounds almost perfect! The lead sounds a bit too loud and a bit fast on the release though :/ maybe a touch more reverb :/ sounds ace!! :)

  • this is awsome

  • This is incredible!

  • This is hauntingly beautiful. Excellent!

  • i cannot pick my jaw up off the floor! that was truly, in the literal sense of the word, AWESOME! that piece is so serene and sinister, it's beuatiful, and you captured it perfectly.

  • Amazing!! Thanks so much for sharing.

  • Flawless! Incredible!

  • Mick you play great!!

  • This is superb!!!

  • Gas gefällt mir richtig guuuuuuuuut !

    Klasse Mann

  • Michael,

Now, it's been said that "you are so talented" about my synth-work, but you my friend! Bravo, and Thank You

  • fantastic

  • I am completely blown away that you managed to get the lead sound out of the Juno 6, absolutely amazing. I have several analogs including the Juno 60 and have tried to replicate this patch from the Original CS-80 and have never even come close. Your rendition of the Blade Runner Blues is one of the best I have heard to date.

I was wondering if you might possibly share the settings on the Juno 6 lead, I would love to hear it on my my Juno 60.

    Thanks

  • @jebeq2007 Hi And thanks! I am putting a link to an article in a German magazine about me and my vangelis sounds in the info section here , the settings you need are on the last page of the article ..let me know how you get on:)

  • man mick...unglaublich....du lässt doch ne cd im hintergrund laufen...^^

  • @shiosaiyoutification HI! no Cd, that is the string sound from microkorg emulating VP330:)

  • Hey Mick, thanks a lot...I think you're one of the best player of Vangelis I ever heard....

Many compliments really thanks a lot for share!Ciao

  • @NickMarcinko You are welcome friend, thankyou for the kind comment:)

  • what is your back line gear? effects, processors, etc?

  • wonderfull ! Congratulations - one take recordings, just as Vangelis does ...

  • hello from france, excellent work on this sound!!!! fantastic!

  • Well freakin' done. Cool atmosphere, too!

  • Wow, I had to come back and listen again. Wonderfull. Such lovely sounds. Perfect programming. Especially the strings and lead. Thanks Mik.

    Cheers,

    Module19

  • @module19 Hi there, many thanks friend!

  • Awesome!

Some really big & fat synth patches!

What was that continuous (air) string patch???

You have really made some fat sounding patches, explain how?

You have some nice practical Synths, can you name them and monitors, effects modules please....thanks

  • Nice job! Patches sound pretty good.

  • You are the real wizard! Vangelis music is very difficult for covering, but you did it.

I'm very glad that find your channel on youtube.

  • Sounds great Mik...love the MicroKORG bass !!!!! and of course the Juno!!!

  • hey are you using a roland Juno G for the blues lead? could you send me the parameters? =)

  • @TheVictoris Hi there, not the G but the juno 6 i'm afraid. I don't think the G could do the analogue sound as well as a 30 year old synth. I know the G has a great sound engine, used it here for elec piano.

  • one word fits here...Chapeau

  • Truly excellent! You are very talented. The sounds are very close indeed and the playing is exquisite. You capture the feel perfectly. The Blade Runner soundtrack is in my opinion one of the best marriages of music to film of all time.

  • @CarlGroover AAAAAAAHH MEN -

i can't say how thrilled i was when it came out finally. it took forever - so worth the wait, though.

truly one of the best film soundtracks by an individual artist, band, or otherwise. . .

  • Definitely you are the true Vangelis ...

  • Hello from BRAZIL !!! Excellent player, and amazing patches. I've got a Juno-G , a Juno-Stage and also an XP-50 (all Roland). Congratulations !

  • @henriquebotelho Hi There and thankyou for the kind words, glad you enjoyed it!

  • in a word, WOW -

simply amazing - excellent job, pal!

  • Very nice!!, love the sounds you have made.

  • you're the man!

    absolute amazing!

  • Cool!!! Hi, did u use Juno-G here for what? The electric piano/fantasy sound?

  • Amazing cover! 5/5

  • Absolutely amazing cover. You are very talented. I love this soundtrack and had a go of my own cover utilising Logics EXS only. Nowhere near as good as this though. Could you please detail your equipment. WELL DONE!

  • Beautiful video and music to dream.... 5/5*****

  • yes I know it is the English ratings

  • Hi mik,

you play on what notes to the string of microkorg

  • Hi, the chord notes for strings

F# (low) then C# E F# I don't read music very well or understand how you write chords in musical language but these are the notes:)

  • Hi Michael,

one short question: Do you have heating probs with the ESQ1? I had two Ensoniqs in the past (ASR10R & DP2 FX). Both mainboards melted...

  • @audiomedien Hi there, I've never had any problems in the 15 years i've had it, only the data entry slider is a bit twitchy now from over-use. These ESQ's are usually bulletproof and stand up to a lot of hardship

  • maravillosoooooo

  • This is just fucking amaizing!!!!

  • I'd love to know some detailed info on the parameters of the lead patch. I could listen to that sound for hours... Thanks for sharing, keep up the good work :)

  • I'm curious, which synth is below the microKorg (the one with the yellow/orange screen)?

  • Hi, thats a roland juno G

  • Great!!!!!!! Bladerunner is my favourite Vangelis album.

Could you tell me the settings of your Juno 6 to make the blues sound? I'd like to create it on my Juno 60.

  • @ renepela Hi there and thanks! Im sending you the parameters , check your inbox, too many characters for a comments reply:)

  • Another great performance. Very inspiring!

  • very very good job

  • It´s great to listen to your work.

  • Best cover on Youtube, sounds amazing. :)

  • Onve again you prove how incredibly good you are at what you do :) This is a great track and you perform it splendid. As allways.

Hope you have a really good upcoming year.

  • Love to hear from you Igor, thankyou very much and I wish the same to you, you very much deserve it:)

  • im amazed awsome job :)

  • Well, anyone who can authentically reproduce the best of the synth master (Vangelis) deserves all the praise in the world. I envy your abilities (and your synths).

  • @FeatherGlow Thankyou, you are welcome and glad you enjoyed it:)

  • Thank you again for a wonderful work, gorgeous sounds, memories and great six minutes.

  • Everytime I see one of your videos I'm impressed....! Please don't stop!

  • @mik300

You must have invested lots of time in arranging all this. Great!

You answered some questions on your gear and the used adjustments. The lead voice is not so

very hard to produce, but there ist one secret: the basic string sound/pad of this tune. You managed a little miracle in doing this. It´s so much more difficult reproducing this hovering string than all the other sounds necessary.

Is it a sample or really a standard voice of the microkorg? I use "Atmosphere" and it doesn´t work.

  • Hi, I have a custom made patch on the Microkorg (check my channel for the vid)

I don't know of any other synth that can emulate the original roland vp330 as well as this, good luck and thankyou:)

  • thank you so much for posting this! a real gift for a guy like me, who stole hours upon hours of enjoyment from this man, this song!

Looking for more ways to purchase the memorabilia! Wish me luck *please*!

    :D

    ~-Outward Change Begins Within-~

  • ooops ok maybe not this man - not yet anyways *favorites and playlists* gotta love them!

    "You play beautifully"

  • No probs, glad you enjoyed it!
