Is it just me, or do each of them have such a unique and distinctive voice? I mean obviously Damon was for show, but no one can say he sings like anyone else! lol... Maybe that's why they didn't blow up as big as they were in my heart... because they didn't sound like everyone else.
I had a horrible past few weeks... worried about love, bills, my job.... Until I decided to watch some Party videos. Suddenly, I was transported back to my childhood, and my years of innocence.
Takes me back to middle school. This music reminds me of how life was before I had to worry about rent, taxes, bills, etc. I was so obsessed with The Party! I'm curious about Tiffini though. Wherever she is, I hope she's happy.
@kyasst I agree. When you look at the Disney "princesses" of today, there's no way they can be compared to The Party. They were very much talented! I hate the fact that they couldn't come out in a better time. I know they would've been all over the world. But things happen for a reason. I'll always wish them the best... They gave me the best memories of my childhood. Thank you The Party!
I don't care what anyone says, but Chase was really the creative genius behind the band. Without his vision & talent the band wouldn't've had the success that it had.
This song is originally from The Jacksons (MJ brothers)1989 album 2300 Jackson Street. I think this video was a little racy for Disney at the time lol. Besides Adult Decision, this was my favorite song from In the Meantime in Between Time album.
This is a great song and a fun band but it was probably the timing in which they came out. New Kids On The Block were beginning to decline. You had other young bands like Natural Selection and The Boys who were garnering a hit or two and going away. I think the cycle for Youth Pop was finishing as NKOTB had ruled the late 1980s and beginning of the 90's. The same thing happened in the late 90s as BSB were the big thing.
@NEXPAR I think Britney and Christina among a few other girl artists came out as the cycle for Youth Pop was once again going. Backstreet came out in 1994 but failed to chart but yet tore up the charts in the late 1990s. No Mercy garnered their hit "Where Do You Go" and another song but did not go very far. Maybe if they came out in 98, they may have gone better like Backstreet and Nsync did.
@NEXPAR I agree 100%. The timing was bad. If they had waited just two more years before releasing that first album, I think they would have been much more successful.
Yes, I remember this. I remember how the MMC had a contest for the name of the band, and some lucky girl picked "The Party." I was like 9 at the time and I remember going "what a dumb name." Eh, they paved the way for Britney Spears and Cristina Aguilera.
@edwlee78 And yes, they did pave the way for Britney and Christina and they got all the fame. And while I think Christina has an amazing voice, Britney is nowhere near The Party in talent. Damon, Albert, Chase, Tiffini and DeeDee were so talented many people didn't even see it.
I will forever be in love with Albert Fields. Takes me back to high school F.L. Schlagle. True
Disney Kid/MMC fan for real

@Blondetimes78 I couldn't agree with you more. Listening to the Party is like looking at an old photo album and remembering the good old days.
