Usually I start with tabs but sometimes they are not right or you can't find them, then I do it by ear.

hey reca, dude u should talk to KOBIBA and TKMAFKNG they're really good at gnr songs u should have a guitar battlelol...except u live in mexico kobiba lives in israel.....tkmafkng lives in japan........ *sigh* o well check em ut i cant decide whos best,u have the most accuracy, kobiba has better sound and quality, and tkmafkng comes out with videos like evry week :-O sooo just check em out good job cya

Props for not being a fanboy and buying a Les Paul to do your GNR covers with. For anyone that thinks you have to have an LP to play anything Slash, you're fucking wrong. Any solidbody with humbuckers will get you what you're looking for. Tone comes from the amp. If you're looking for Slash tone, get the right amp instead.

you're pretty right, but when u already get the right amp every guitar sounds different... in this case Les Paul - warm and sweet tone, SG - stronger voice, Explorer - more metal sound, etc, there ARE differences in sound of guitars when u plug it in a good amp... no need to be fanboy to buy les paul... my amp is like middle-end (marshall avtx100) and i here lots of difference between SG and Les Paul(on same pick ups)... but sure first u better get good amp then think about guitar...

Very, very, true. I actually love Les Pauls, and I won't lie, I never noticed that kind of guitars until I saw it in Slash's hands. Im actually saving now for an Epiphone Les Paul. And Reca, you're very good at guitar.

Ok, 2 tips. First: be patient, don't worry you won't have to practice something 1 million times just keep practicing. Second: Second use a metronome. Thanks dude :)
