First of all yes there was a committee that was appointed by Umar. From that committee Uthman was voted but the public was asked if they agreed and the major population in Mecca and Medina agreed with that choice. Of course the whole Muslim nation couldnt have possibly held a vote it would be impossible so they took the opinion of the people in what can be considered the two capitals at that time.

Democrats have played that card in 2000, 2004 and now 2012. Rather than debate Nader on issues in which he is by far a superior candidate, the only reason they can tell people not to suport him is that he's a wasted vote who can't win and is stealing it from the Democrats.

Obama supporters need to get informed or stop being in denial as it'll cost lives.

Obama will end the Iraq war, but HE WILL NOT END THE OCCUPATION IN IRAQ, and many troops withdrawn will be redeployed to Afghanistan & Pakistan.
