I'm in the restaurant biz for 15 years and i never get to ear those words " take your time chef's and make it perfect " It's more like " take your head out of your fuckin but you dum ass and hurry ". Wow i'm amaze!
Stop. It's just too much isn't it? Really. Too much food. Jurassic salt? Hey now let's have some pork belly ice cream. They're in a food coma by the end. Who foot the bill for that thing? Or did Thomas Keller eat it? I hope not. It's sick. Good and bad sick.
Dinner here was on a whole other level. I feel so lucky to have been to both The French Laundry and Per Se. TFL has the edge with the small town, and the fact the garden is across the street. Per Se has the edge with the decor and the view. Food is equally great at both places.
If you ever get the chance, take it. You may scoff at $250 per person. But you'd pay that for concert or sports tickets.
ill never understand how he makes 4 completely different tasting menus for one table how does he use all his product does he just waste a lot of food does he not sleep theres gotta be a catch
@skopered Also, in the book of a Cook's Tour, he says there is about 80 staff, and 80 diners per night. Eating there must be like being a medieval king where everyone else is there to serve you.
@Seanc0272 I'm curious to get your take on how it was. This episode makes it look unbelievable -- like more so than I could have imagined. The place is only $275 per person and I say "only" because if the guy is really serving four different, 20-course tasting menus in a single sitting, then I'm not sure if $275 covers it. The skeptic in me can't help but think that these guys got the celebrity chef's treatment rather than the real French Laundry experience.

Why did Food Network cancel "A Cook's Tour?"
To make way for the likes of Sandra Lee, and her repulsive Kwanzaa Cake.

This remains one of my fav food episodes ever. I've eaten at Morimoto's. Next up, I need to eat at The French Laundry and Per Se.

I weep when I watch this video, because I don't see myself ever being able to visit. This is hands down my favorite food porn video.

Think of it like that. As an "experience."

Dude, that's a bit harsh. USA has a lot of shit parts, but San Francisco is amazing and other parts are definitely worth going for...

Shows how much you know [about the U.S.]
Per Se, Charlie Trotter's, Alinea, L2O - to name a few - are also great U.S. restaurants to dine luxuriously at.
