Thank you all for making this fun video for me to learn how to speak Korean, I am hard of hearing, I never heard and know any words from Korea as I could not hear, All I know was English and Sign Languages, You guys make this video fun to learn and easy for me to learn how to speak the languages, Thank you for helping me getting my nationally back. I am proud to be 100 % Korean. So An Nyoung
@KrielRae lol I think we should post on each other's channel or smth haha xD anws um I used to have a bias tho but now I don't LOL I love them all equally!:D
@crazyskaterkid4 there are many different variations depending on your dialect like in England they spell things differently then the English words here in America
for example some kpop singers say anyoungaseyo .. or something like that .. it means hello and when they say bye its anyoung can you explain this to me please
Isn't An nyoung hee Gae sae yo written as 안 녕 히 개 새 요 ? at 2.19 or.. coz isn't 계 pronounce as Gye? im still not sure about the pronounciation of 애 and 에 it seems similar..
Or is it An nyeong hi ga se yo? 안 넝 히 가 세 요 ? may i know which one is correct? 감 사 합 니 다 ! =)
@YummYakitori They are from Chinese. Both Korean and Japanese have both native numbering systems as well as sets of numbers that come from Chinese numbers.
@saengjoy annyeong haseo doesnt mean ''how are you'', it means ''hello'' , you use it when youre talking to older ppl. annyeong means ''hello'' too but you use it when youre talking to your friends or other ppl your age or younger.
@roxasgirl1992 it's extremely formal and used in the Ancient Korean days. Nowadays it's only used by mostly men in strict business settings, hierarchy etc. It's also used for workers when they talk to customers to show utmost respect
Thanks Professor Oh! I always get Hee Gae and Hee Ga mixed up when saying goodbye at work and my informal Korean teacher Joy always says "hee GAAAAA!!" lol. Next KWOW hmmm. How about Numbers?
What's the background music near the beginning where she introduces the word of the week? Sounds very familiar from an anime I've watched before I'm sure...
An anyoung is the informal way of saying hello and goodbye? I thought it was just for hello, and the informal good-byes are jal-ga(you're telling someone who is leaving) and jal-it-ssoe(you're the one who's leaving).
@Lydomina Just like in Hawaii where "Aloha" is used as hello and goodbye, so is "Anyoung." You can also use "jal-ga" and "jal-it-ssoe" for good-bye. It's like in English, we're there are multiple ways of saying goodbye (i.e. see you later, peace out, catch you on the flip side, etc).
You said the formal way of saying hello is an nyoung ha sae yo, but whenever I hear people say it whether it be on dramas, variety shows or in person it always sounds mushed. Like "Anya-ah-saeyo". Is it just that it sounds like this and the actual person is saying "an nyoung ha sae yo"?
@lunasea08 It sounds mushed simply because they're speaking quickly, and you can find that it almost any language. You can intentionally sound more fluent by not pronouncing every letter. Though obviously you should be careful with this and not cut out whatever you feel like. :P
Just listen to Korean speakers and imitate them. :]
@Lovebites2014 She is sort of teaching you the numbers with each KWOW ("This is lesson number *insert Korean word here*"). At least the Sino-Korean number system, anyway. Though surprisingly she isn't putting up the Hangul for them as well. So far you've learned:
