The so called Gospel of Barnabas and other documents were rejected as they were not representing the truth. Just because of the name, one cannot and should not conclude that a gospel was written by Barnabas or Peter.

Muslims are just pointing to the FACT that many ancient documents were rejected but they do not explain or understand that such were rejected because they didn't meet the standards.

That is why such debate is of elementary level and participated by Muslims and their "scholars"

Checked out the source on this, neocarvi, and no surprise, they are Islamic. I've noticed a great deal of anti Christian material coming out from Muslim sources. I don't see it going back in the same manner. Considering the Koran was written much after the New and Old Testament and 'borrows' different characters from these sources, such as Moses, Adam, Jesus (he's seen as only a phrophet in the Koran) I'd think you'd keep a lower profile when it came to punching holes in different faiths.

@imreadyyo26 In any of the countries where Islam is the national religion you could get away with such a miserable dish of logic to explain away how the Jewish and Christian faiths were borrowed from in putting together the Koran. But in a country where we don't fear having our heads cut off for calling out the truth, you lose. Also look at the countries which are muslim and you will see there is very little to no equality, tolerance, freedoms for men and women. This is what Islam produces.

Christianity did not have the luxary of growing in such peaceful conditions as Islam did. Rome killed Christians, burned manuscripts, and mande the church go underground. Islam did not face anywhere near the struggle Christianity did when it began to emerge. Heretical scriptures were discarded yes, but those that were deemed worthy became NT Cannon.

I KNOW you might respond by saying .."people worshiped him" but the word worship is miss translated and missused in the bible. Jesus does teach that he is both human & divine that is through the apostles he commissioned and gave all authority to. What they teach he also teaches. His Church and He are one. I refer you to Luke 10:16-20. Then read carefully Mark 2:5-12. Only God can forgive sins the Jews claim! Does Jesus go out of his way to contradict them? No! So the underlying message according to Luke is He is God incarnate!

Your reasoning behind rejecting certain gospels based on content is flawed. If the Bible is the Word of God, certainly God would make sure all fake gospels get rejected from the true Bible. The basis of God's rejection of a given gospel would be based on His truth, or i.e. the gospel's content. So whether the rejection is based on a preconceived biased agenda or God's preservation of truth, the rejection basis is the same and therefore your argument proves nothing.
