dude your so cool. Dual screen? fuck me that takes talent. i wish i could get a setup like this :/ i have been creative too :) i won a colourin contest once, i was 3 - start of my career :)
Do you think qualifications in design are needed to be a good designer? I'm pretty much entirely self taught after taking a completely unrelated degree and have been wondering for some time now whether it would be worth getting some formal education in the industry I actually work in.
@StuartTraynor I would say its not needed, but its a great thing to have. Some of the best artists out there are Self-taught without any formal education, but that doesnt mean you wont become a great artist if you study a degree (a lot of people tend to think this). The problem is if you think you WILL BE a great artist by having one. Hard work is the key, you can always study on yourself and if you work hard enough you will surely become a master, but a bit of professional help isnt bad too :D
good video , what size is your macbook pro and do you think staying on at 6th form was worth it as i would like to do similar stuff to what you do and am deciding whether to stay for 6th form or go to college and do the Art and Design (Interactive Media) BTEC Extended Diploma course , could you please help as you know more about what to do then i probably do ....please reply and help me out thank you Matt
Hey Chris.. I really like the concept of this video series. This will bridge the gap between u and us. My question is. How can i improve my visualization skills for graphic designing.
I really like the video format, it's always interesting to be able to put a face to text... so to speak.
When you were looking for your first graphic and or web job, how adequate in terms of skill/confidence were you. It can seem somewhat intimidating in putting yourself and your skill set out there.
First of all, great Idea with the video, it was very well produced! My question is: When creating a new design, do you always start from scratch or do you sometimes use resources you may have previously created? (like a library of vectors, buttons, tables, layouts etc... you've made) Thanks
Great show Chris, liked the t-shirt changes, thought it was a great subtle touch.
Question: When you started your freelance career, did you start off as self-employed and registered with HMRC? And, as your business started to grown did you go under a business name?
I think this could be very confusing for people starting out as freelancers or consultants.
Great Content, Keep up the Good work
