Whoa dude! Thems Are The Coolest S.A. moves I ever seen. How do you hop through the scream.  ive been tri-in (LOL Pun intended) to learn but cant never get it right. Knowing how would really make the hunt alot easier.

@MHTCapcomfan Thank you for the nice comment! For your evading practice... Start with armor that gives you the Evade +1 or 2 skill (e.g. Barioth) and try to learn the mannerisms of the monster before he screams. Then you can practice dodging through them. Hope I helped! Happy Hunting!

No you can sever with anything besides a hammer. For blowgun you use pierce ammo. And to sever tails or break body parts you have to hit it repeatedly.

@rayo1996 Thanks for your comment, sorry it took so long to reply:

1) Great Inceadeus is best, as with any version of a weapon that has more attack power.

2) Sharpness +1 is best, and evade can make up for the lack of guard w/SA. Other skills are up to you.

3) Ala's element weakness changes throughout the fight. I chose to use Great Inceadeus for its ATP, though I have been able to beat him w/Ala SA too.

4) Use it how you like, I found it only makes a diff. to number crunchers.

@rayo1996 1) Great Inceadeus is the strongest sword mode Switch Axe in most cases with it's Power Phial. If you like Axe mode, i would go with Jhen + Attack.

2) That's a nice set, but you might like High Grade Earplugs on occasion.

3) Alatreon's Dragon Weakness is very small and only becomes noticeable when it's flying. On land Alatreon is weakest to Ice, and then Water.

5) Your combo depends. Without a Power Phial you'll probably want to use the burst to run out of phial and return to Axe mode.

For those of you in need of a Jumbo Pearl, just do the Red Coral Stone quest, the drop rate is much better than in free roam. You should end up with AT LEAST 1. Guaranteed.

@Kruppol98 It is a bit awkward at first, but just keep using it and you will get better with it. Yes it has a nice amount of moves that are useful in lot of situations.

Did you have thunderstrike p or g vs Jho, because at 4.49 on the first hit on the jho nest it seems to be an affinity hit. Or did you have critical eye gemmed in to barioth+?

@minikiko10 I was using Thunderstrike (G), the SA w/ Affinity Bonus. No Critical Eye gemmed in, I had Evade+2, Evade Dist. Up, Cold Cancel Hi and Speed Sharpening.

Very nice video, very inspirational for a Switch Axe user like myself. I do have a question though. On your Alatreon solo, clearly you had High Grade Earplugs and Sharp+1 but were you combining that with Evasion+2 also? or something like Evasion+1 and Evade Up? Or something else? Looking to try it myself as soon as I'm confident I'm ready.

@Novakasaldith Thank you! I did not have Evasion, my skills were: HGE, Sharpness +1 and Bombardier. I used Felyne Pyro and Bombardier to speed up the battle. I found that you can actually dodge Ala's scream w/o Evade skills, as well as his claw swipes.
