  • love his voice, I smoke to stay out of amnesia and kill the only link I have to get better.. I want to woirk but the pohone lines get cut, I would leave but my kids tied to a landmine,, and I am afraid I might never live that down:)

  • thumbs up if you sing along the "YEAAAHHHH!" every time

  • He means Runners Up. Good song, though.

  • @BandyGreensacks No, "My best friends all gone but i got, runner ups yeaaaaahhhh'

  • @Leinadnash I mean that the correct phrase is "runners up," not that the uploader posted the wrong song title.

  • perhaps a bob dylan for this generation

  • has that "End of the Innocence" feel. and man, if you been driving or been driven out- this will encapsulate the moment, the memory, the majesty of it all.

  • coming 2 DC w/ Thurston Moore. how can the hemisphere survive?

  • god, this first chorus line is one of the saddest and most beautiful lyrics I've ever heard

  • to me... he sounds like a male version of Lucinda Williams... same inflections.

  • Reminds me of Tom Petty

  • I can't begin to tell you how many times i've clicked replay

  • Gotta create a new playlist titled Kurt Vile!

  • "I don't know if its real, but its how I feel".....YES!

  • this song flat out makes me cry every time i hear it

  • Amazing. Can very much hear the influence of Fleetwood Mac, Lindsay Buckingham type guitar. Great tune, just great. I challenge anyone to not sing the 'yeeeaaaaah'

  • Soo Beautiful.. i set it on repeats all day all night!!

  • he makes such beautiful music

  • this is like bob dylan that can actually write music.

    ps: i love dylan

  • @digita1ove it's like bob dylan that can write music, but can't sing. Swings and roundabouts...

  • wow... my brother (my best friend) died when i was 15. its not often i find songs i can connect to so literally with about it all. i love kurts honesty in how he sees the world, so many of us feel the same way...

  • @tmvnotmtv I know the feeling. My best friend killed himself a few weeks before this album came out. I fell to my knees the first time I heard that chorus.

  • @asfarasisee damn... yeah i feel you. to quote another one of kurt's songs, "best love" :

Sometimes I lay awake at night turning cus I lost my best friend

If you had a true friend I'm sorry and you know I feel for you

Me I lost someone like a doctor so its deeper than I talk to you

It makes me feel like a part of me is dead too

  • @tmvnotmtv fuck yeah, nice post. The dude is real.

  • @tmvnotmtv You should also check out Elliott Smith.

  • This is my first time hearing this. I can't remember where I first heard about this guy, but I was curious mainly because of the silly name. I actually like I'm hearing. This is a fantastic song. Simple, yet powerful. Almost mesmerising, in fact.

  • I am old school, ( 63 ) and I think he is a talent. reminds me of Bob Dylan when he was young.

  • I love how he reuses lyrics, like this has the lyrics from Red Apples, and Freeway and Beach on the Moon are the same

  • @alphadude500 Agreed. It's something I like about the Hold Steady too.

  • What an unbelievable tune. So melodic. Thumbs up for Kurt here.

  • Thanks for sharing. He is amazing.
