Thank you for the video. I wish this was around when i applied b/c i was so scared.. sick, nervous, unsure of future and BROKE. i am divorced and i have 2 kids under 18 that live with there dad we have joint custody. they live with him because i am unable to support them do to disability. if i get approved would he or the kids get a check from my disablitiy. i know he help raising them. i hate i can't even afford to have my children with me.

I worked till I was unable to work. My doctor told me to stop working but I went ahead and kept on working for a year then was unable to I take oxycottin due to my pain but now I am addicated to it. If I go a few days without it I get really sick and end up bed ridden. I have a hearing on the 15th what should I do.

@starwarsnaomi Do what you can, safely, to go to your hearing. Be honest. Describe how condition(s) effects you over the course of the long term, all measures you do to control your pain, be honest (DESCRIBE your pain, other conditions, other symptoms). Read Nolo's Guide. Be credible!. Don't say your pain is a 10 or 11. Be honest. Bring med bottles, along w/ list of dosages, if any that put your condition (s) in remission but cause side effects, detail limitations.

i don't know if mental disorders are different from physical but they are reviewing my case again and i have a psychiatrist, a therapist. i've seen a licensed clinical social worker and a psychologist all documented and i take LOTS of medication. and still i was denied and told that based on their ppl looking at my case i wasn't considered disabled. so i'm really nervous now that they will deny me again. ugh!

@ILuv2bUmmi Keep appealing, show you still have limitations/little to no improvement despite compliance. keep going through, keep journals of following treatment. Be specific in limitations. Keep appealing and ask to keep benefits while appealing. Keep visiting professionals while appealing and follow advice/follow-through.

i'm currently waiting on an answer for SSI right now. I was told by my caseworker that they are TRAINED to deny you the first go round have you ever heard of that before? anyway i have begun an appeal in october and now i'm speaking to my examiner (which i didn't do before) they are in the process of getting my records AGAIN and reviewing my case again. my case is based on mental disorders such major depression, bi polar, anxiety disorder and aghorophobia.

I think this may be true because a former employer of mine was HIV and had stomach cancer and his claim was also denied (I'm not sure how many times) and he eventually died. He never got it.
