"but most of his stuff didn't stand out at all from the likes of Ludacris or DMX." this is more attributed to your ignorance towards rap. Writing about none of the same material, almost devoid of cursing, and completely different beat structures. Since you wrote that in 2007 i'm assuming you arent as stupid anymore.
Erin was off a bit with the drumming. The way he drummed on the "They Make Beer Commercials Like This"' studio recording sounded much different and much better. This, I believe, caused David to get off rhythm a bit with the lead guitar...and even Jake a bit with both rhythm guitar and vocals. This I believe is because the fact that the "Pony Up!" studio recording was improv. A great jam song. But, the five still did a great job playing it live there in Winsconsin on that night.
minus the bear is amazing though. Very original sounding stuff. Singers voice needs to get more solid live but the guitar work and drum beats are awesome.
Slick you're an idiot, trying to be all smart. 88 was right about Menos el Oso, because since you're such a big fan, you'd know that menos el oso directly translates to Minus the Bear in spanish. It also happens to be the name *obviously* of their self titled CD. Simply he was saying this was his favorite Minus the bear song, and I would have to agree. Best pedal solo ever done by them!
dude, 88 is basically trying to say this is his favorite "MINUS THE BEAR" song, since Menos El Oso means Minus the bear in spanish. Pantsuit and 88 are correctamundo. Hes not saying its his favorite one off of that album, he saying its his favorite MTB song.
I've seen Minus the Bear four times over the past 4 years and they've never played this song at the shows I've been to. I wish they would, I love this song.
I pray you aren't in a position that allows you to professionally review music because your references and opinion are just pure shit....

I love how they've got this nice and chill grove going at the end, and then they abruptly end it in the middle of the phrase.

Um, no...this song is on their EP 'They Make Beer Commercials Like This"
Slick, isnt an idiot, you are. He is an MTVB, fan unlike you. The EP, was actually made before Menos El Oso.
