@Videomanjohn John, did you know ahead of time that you would find him there? In other words, did someone tell you about him before you went to the area to film it? Another question.....do you know if there are more of them in the area?
@hopeforamerika We were on a trail at Palenque looking for some lesser ruins, the video camera in hand, when I saw it and shot the footage. We had no idea this critter would be found there and saw no others. It turns out that the basilisk is common enough through out the region. If you do a search on the brown basilisk and you'll know more about them.
Reaction Incredible, thumbs up, and in my favorites. I'm going to start sharing it right now. When he stands up you can see his little hands like hands just like the specimens in the Metropolitan and in the Field museum here. Knowing that you were the one who shot it reassures me that there are no tricks going on at all. Amazing!
@hopeforamerika Truly, the footage is genuine and not tampered with...it's just a bred down modern version of the great dinosaurs...known today as a Basilisks!
@Videomanjohn At the expense of sounding dumb, I would like to know what you mean by 'bred,' John. Is there someone actually breeding this type of species? If so how? Might this be just a natural phenomenon per chance?
I think thats the Jesus Christ lizard. They are called that because they can walk on water.
