This just reminds me why I thought Kelly would be great to play Mary in a film. She's got a similar look and vocal timbre. Well Peter Benjaminson the author of The Lost Supreme book is working on the the film right now. If I was you I would send him a message on his Lost Supreme site encouraging him to keep Kelly as Mary and Taraji as Diana in mind. As well as I did. That way his descision is made up due to all these suggestions and interviews with Taraji saying she wants to be Diana. Well Taraji keep your keep your fingers crossed because you might get a call from The Ballard Daughters one of these days.

This was bad! I Love, Love, Love..Mary, Cindy and Kelly! The dresses were horrible, they needed full length gowns and at least similar styled wigs (weave for Kelly). Mary is SO much better than this performance, she has come a long way. Cindy is a sweetheart and can never do wrong. Kelly was good..this was just not a good performance or look for them.

Man, Cindy Birdsong has been my favorite since i first saw her 1967 youtube supreme video. I fell for her when i saw the one on the Ed Sullivan, when she said "FAT IS IN". Shows how whats considered small things, can make big impressions.

Coming on this stage at this time of life and performing at all, is a testament to their endurance and greatness. I just so loved THE SUPREMES!!! As such, it is always a pleasure to Mary and Cindy performing. I am always reminded of those wonderful days in the 60's and 70's.

I agree; Kelly held her own. But Cindy Birdsong, being 65 at the time and long ago retired from the music business, sounded phenomenal, though she has sounded better. And FYI, Cindy takes the fewest, briefest leads because she has self-confidence issues singing lead, no joke! I don't know why; she's always sounded great! Mary, on the other hand, HAS sounded better and not very good here, but at LEAST she took it like a professional. Props to 'em all!
You are correct. Cindy really isn't a lead singer and never has been, however she blends well with other singers (Patti, Nona and Sarah of Labelle and all the other Supremes) and can hit some very high, powerful notes. She also has an instantly recognizable face and is very, very sweet. That's why we love her!

Cindy Birdsong was right - they sound terrible. Kelly's trying to give HDH a hip-hop edge that doesn't work, and Mary's and Cindy's voices are just OLD.
I was so happy to find this vid again and always to see Cindy put on her Supremes bag...that smile and exhuberance, she just steps right in and helps Mary to re-evoke the group's magic days and memories! :)

Kelly has no stage presence. She is not as ugly as when she first started(with tthat pathetic short hair) but Mary wilson looked way sexier and prettier than her in that clip. This performance came just a month and a half after Mary Wilson had what was described as a mild stroke. She also had just did a series of concerts in Las Vegas the night before this taping occurred. I still enjoyed seeing her and Cindy with Kelly on this show.

They are "SUPREMES" and should have looked the part!!Full length gowns would have been more appropriate for these ladies.Mary's wig should have been shoved down the stylists' throat. This was not their best performance and i KNOW they are much better than that..Kelly Rowland was good, hope she can eventually get from out of B's shadow!

I heard Mary sing not long before this.She can really sing. If i am not mistaken Mrs. Mary Wilson had serious medical problems shortly before this performance. Coming on this stage at this time of life and performing at all, is a testament to their endurance and greatness. How foolish is it, to criticize the performance of women who started singing in the 1950s. How assinine. By the way, i am a young person and i love the supremes, all of them.

Mary is indeed a supreme example of THE SUPREMES. I truly appreciated this video. I loved the performances of all three. A sheer delight to see Mary and Cindy together again. Kelly was a trouper and I loved her too.

I agree; Kelly held her own. But Cindy Birdsong, being 65 at the time and long ago retired from the music business, sounded phenomenal, though she has sounded better. And FYI, Cindy takes the fewest, briefest leads because she has self-confidence issues singing lead, no joke! I don't know why; she's always sounded great! Mary, on the other hand, HAS sounded better and not very good here, but at LEAST she took it like a professional. Props to 'em all!

You are correct. Cindy really isn't a lead singer and never has been, however she blends well with other singers (Patti, Nona and Sarah of Labelle and all the other Supremes) and can hit some very high, powerful notes. She also has an instantly recognizable face and is very, very sweet. That's why we love her!

Destiny's Child seems to be following the supremes.
Beyonce has a very sucessful solo career, as did Diana.
Mary tried, made a good attempt. as is Kelly.
And Cindy did her thang, as is Michelle.
Kelly has a very soothing voice, and I have faith she will top the charts again. Kelly, I love you. :)

Kelly has no stage presence. She is not as ugly as when she first started(with tthat pathetic short hair) but Mary wilson looked way sexier and prettier than her in that clip. Also, her vocal style is boring. Just because someone screams and hits notes, doesnt make them great singers. She doesnt have a nice style to make her outstanding.

This performance came just a month and a half after Mary Wilson had what was described as a mild stroke. She also had just did a series of concerts in Las Vegas the night before this taping occurred. I still enjoyed seeing her and Cindy with Kelly on this show.
