WAIT read this, ok so im still 15 but i'm planning to go to a film college, i want to edit videos or be the camera dude for TV or movies, but after college don't they send me somewhere or do i have to be interviewed for the job? please help im so confused on this stuff
For shooting Films and things with limited Scene Times, a HDSRLR is perfect with a iso range of 100 - 400 and a lens that can drop to 1.4 mainly a 50mm canon prime.
but for interviews and weddings and such, a normal prosumer camcorder is the way to go, maybe like a panasonic hmc 150 or something
Educational, thanks for shedding some light on that, so to speak... I've experience that myself until I changed from a Cannon T2i to a Sony Digital film/video camera, specifically for shooting film. I apologize for the people who are rude with their comments, they know not what they speak....
@MrBokai That's because you don't know anything about film-making and have no desire to learn how to do it, or do it better....... Lots of people use their digital cameras to film, and wonder why they get these drastic effects of light which he spoke of. If you're depressed dude, it's you, not him.... He's not a dynamic speaker, I'll give you that, but he does know what he's talking about. Have some respect for the professionals......
I been doing this for a while, and many ways, I figured out how to fix this. Please checkout my video response there is a transition from raw video to a colorful film look.
I'm creating a film called "Clock Watch". It's a fast pase sequence. Bourne Ultimatum kinda feeling. Anyways, i'll be posting a intro in a few weeks to come. Still in the process of filming.

what is the difference between a grip handle and a Steadicam?. Which is better for me for short films? I have a Canon Vixia HG21.
Between Opteka X-GRIP and Manfrotto 585 ModoSteady? which do you recommend for short films?
