  • I was there!! .....Wally....!! One of the first brilliant open air concerts with a magical array of bands!!

  • Only these people tripping on LSD and watching this live in the 1970's, TRULY understand the meaning of Atom Heart Mother

  • everybody sounds so hung over. "ugh, do we `ave to?"

  • atom heart mother > echos

  • happy mothers day... : )p

  • A masterpiece of the mind.

  • Solo para paladares exigentes...

  • gracias, amigo este video no sabia que existia es el mejor ALBUM DE PINK FLOYD Para mi. el menos comercial.

  • Ron Geesin made Pink Floyd out of Syd Floyd. After Syd left, the group was lost in darkness. Atom Heart Mother was the 4th album of the Floyd. It was made with Ron Geesin. He brought them on The new path which would lead them to become an orchestral pop group. The father of the modern Pink Floyd is Ron Geesin.

  • It is a great pity that the orchestra is so poor. The brass is an embarassment.

The Floyd would have deserved the London Phil for this project, not some substandard brass band.

  • fantastic!!!!!!!!!

  • awsome sound affects just like the album which I have

  • This concert was Gilmour's first show with the Black Strat.

  • thanks for posting this....

  • Could I rate it 6?

  • 5:37 . that scene, i've been dying to see where it came from when i first saw it on "which one's pink?". thanks A LOT for the upload man.

  • This is cool :)

  • Thank you very much!!!

I like the sound too! It seems that they're playing in my room...

Have you heard my IF version on myspace gariac ?

  • i don't see anything

  • First time I've seen this since 1970, when I was there.

June 1970 Bath and West Showground, Shepton Mallet, a couple of miles from the present location of Glastonbury Festival.

  • awesome man.. lucky u. did u have some good stuff of the concert to show me?

  • The only thing I've got is memories.

  • badass man.

    im jealous

  • @GarethVader I fucking envy you I'd give a leg to have been there!

  • @curkiputas I was a good weekend, but a long time ago now. I saw Atom Heart Mother again in Bristol, but the first time was the best!

  • ...i have never seen that....really thanks a lot...amazing.....

  • congratulations !

  • what place was these concert?

  • in England, Shepton Mallet, i think

  • thanks ....

  • authentique bravo !!

  • great great video thanks a lot (where did you find it???) atom heart mother is a great masterpiece of pink floyd and it's always good to see it live!!

  • the Bath festival (this video) was not from 1973, it was June 1970

  • Fantastic !

  • The Pink Floyd always made the best use of female backing singers. I love this.

  • wow playing this thing live is just insane.

  • As probably some other here I think Atom Heart Mother is their best LP recording ever ! Even if this video is of low technical quality by today´s standards it is very nice to hear the band & orchestra trying the delicate task of performing this exceptional and complex beauty of a song live !

This is no mainstream music -this is quality progressive music of the epic type...

    Thank you !

  • that's true man, i hardly hope been in the first line of this concert

  • "Dogs" was 1st a new song called -

"You've Got To Be Crazy" .

  • A masterpiece of Pink Floyd. Indeed, the quality of this video is bad but doesn't matter. When I hear the sound I go in the land of dreams and poetry :) 5 stars, but it deserves millions of stars.

Congrats for the post of this video

  • ....and they came onstage at 3am to do this!!....i don't think you'd get that kind of commitment these days...;-)

  • just thought i'd add that if you add '&fmt=18'(without the'marks)to the address at the top of your screen, the sound quality improves alot.not the video, just the sound

  • I love Atom Heart mother. I love it. It's Great. Echoes & this are Pink Floyds great space out jams Baby! Yeah!!!!!!!!

  • Great memories of Bath 1970(not 73)

I had the privilege to be there,ATHMs first public performance I believe.

Of course Floyd went on to greater Albums but we loved it at the time.Suprised to see any record of it exists at all ,Thanks for it.

  • the wall is a concept album it goes way beyond just music

  • This is where Gilmour's famous Black Strat made it's debut :D

  • The orchestra didn't do that well in this performace. I think the orginal album recording is excellent though.

  • I think that you are a TROLL

  • Agreed

  • Ok the music is GREAT, the video is TERRIBLE. Now dont get me wrong, I LOVE Pink Floyd, but didnt they have better quality video by 1970? This looks like a broadcast from 1940

  • yes it was at a san fransico T.V. show they filmed in 1970

  • Yes, quality is terrible, but this performance are legendary. Real treasure for Pink Floyd fans. Thanks for it!

  • VERY RARE FIND!

I think this is the one that Geesin walked out of.

When you here the musicians sync problems and some of the brass players, its easy to see why!

    Thanx for this!

  • Pink Floyd wrote "Dogs".

  • Nice one !!! This is as rare as rocking horse shit !!!

  • Thanks very much for posting it! this is music history!

    but it's 1970 right? not 1973 I presume

  • I'm in the middle of reading "Inside Out" by Nick Mason, just finished the section about Bath and the recording of this great song. Don't know why they dislike it, I think it's one of their best. Cool video!

  • Pink Floyd wrote "Dogs".

  • No way! For real?? Thanks for enlightening us all!

  • Don't mention it. It's what I do. If I can save one person from going to Pink Floyd hell (The Wall/Final Cut) then I've done my job.

  • don't you like the wall?

  • No................!...!...!

  • did you know that pink floyd wrote "dogs"??

  • Really? You're kidding!

  • no...that's true, pink floyd wrote "dogs"...now you know it

  • Come on man im a floyd fan listening to them my whole life meddle and animals is probably their best albums but how can you not like the wall its one of their best works too youre goin to real hell for not likein it lol

  • Actually, their best album is either "The Dark Side of the Moon", or "Wish You Were Here" is their best album. Take your pick. "The Wall" has a good concept, but the music is, IN MY OPINION, crap compared to those two other albums. Pink Floyd in the P.D. years are good also (after the Syd left, that is).

  • I think you should drown in a everlasting sea of black mans cum lol kidding but seriously now theres better albums than those two just cause they were the most popular doesnt mean theyre the best music wise and the wall was great music wise it was so well put together

  • Actually, their most popular albums were "The Dark Side of the Moon", and "The Wall".

  • mmm actually.. the wall is their worst album XD and i'm not saying its a bad album.. but its a commercial one.. still.. its pretty good :) i like "the trial" and "waiting for the worms"

  • nice troll

  • Who are you calling a troll?

  • Wow. I didn't realize I start so many of my sentences with the word "actually".

  • the wall really is one of their worst albums, it is terribly overrated

  • by your name i understand that you like rock n roll.wall isnt rock n roll and something very difycult to understand

  • Well said, its progressive rock since Pink Floyd are a progressive rock band. I might be wrong, either way, I love Pink Floyd !

  • perhaps is the best album of Floyd

  • I used to be partial to Dark Side Of The Moon and The Wall, but as I've gotten older I'm more into Wish You Were Here.

  • The Wall is the horrible sound of a big spoilt baby throwing his toys out of the pram... sure, Waters was depressed, but lots of us get depressed, we just don't write pompous, tuneless double albums about it. He never understood that it was Wright and Gilmour who made his gloomy songs listenable - with them pushed to one side, you're just listening to a tone-deaf whinger with no sense of perspective moaning for an hour and a half.

  • Go home, idiot!

  • Spettacolare!
