Finally! I found it!

I've been looking all over for this game.

As a kid, I used to have this game in a demo, along side "Sam The Boulderman", as complete games.

I remember the good old days of games made by the net yaroze! You could have fan games on demo disc!

A Dog Tale was one of my favorite, but it was so hard! My all time favorite was Terra Incognita!

i do have the Disc i just lost it i'll just have to keep looking around the house i hope when i find the disc it ain't scratched! or damaged.

@ACRetro I got in touch with the guy who made this haha , he still uses the same e-mail address you see at the end of the game, he gave me the code for the net yaroze playstation , so if i ever come across a net yaroze! ill make level 2! haha

You can still occasionally get Yaroze systems if you look hard enough online - it might even be worth contacting Sony direct about purchasing one, there's nothing to lose. I would love to see level 2... level 1 was a bit too easy d(-.~)b

this game was solid, i couldt jump for shit hahaha! and when you did jump, that was it, no turning back, also i used to try and run and jump all the way through no stopping.

Aaah good old Net Yaroze. I love how kids these days blame sony for they lack of thing for independant, but they were one of the first to offer a Devellopement base for the large public ! Viva Sony, i owe them all my childhood of gaming :)

There is no level 2. There are check-points dotted around the level, though.

For the record, it's me who is playing, and I wasn't really trying. Honest! ;)

It is, I played it as a kid, the music and graphics makes me feel very very strange I don't know why but it does, and it was impossibly hard too.

I've tryed to find one of those NET Yaroze Playstations fpr my console collection, but there extremly rare, anybody know where i could get one?

Could try eBay or other online auction websites. Another option is to join up to some PSX forums and ask if anybody has one to sell. Good luck.

I loved this game. My brother made fun of me no end because of my addiction... I eventually finished it, and perfected it so I could do it over and over... The other day, we were trying to remember the theme tune of it, because we were talking about addictive games... So I am so happy I found this!

It's unforgiving, to say the least!

There are even tougher sections further from what I manage in this video, but I will say this:

There are full, non-Yaroze games which hold your attention far less than A Dog Tale.

Hey guys, what a surprise to see this up here! Glad you enjoy it. And if you don't then, hey that's life. I wrote this game over a span of a lot of late nights after having a few pints of cider. As my first real project with the Net Yaroze. Is it tough? Yes. Is it groundbreaking? No. But it was the first game that I'd actually ever managed to finish writing.

I loved this game for one simple reason: It was HARD. A 2D platformer that was just genuinely challenging, no poor controls, no poor programming, no limited jump distance, just top-notch level design. Okay, so I finished it anyway but I liked the game enough to keep trying!

Nothing special. A ending story text came up, a picture of the creator and credits. Not very exiting... Anyway, i think it was like that, but i can't check, because I don't have the game anymore.
