yeah, only for one day though. plan was to drive from taupo to wellington, but took a detour east first on the forgotton world highway. that was the shot where my mate said the road had turned to gravel... you can see the roadsign says taranaki. Really enjoyed New Plymouth, very laid back and it was a gorgeous day... though mt taranaki itself was enshouded by clouds the whole time we drove around the peninsula. Is it always like that?

I'd say it's about 50/50, some days you see it nice and clear, others you wouldn't know that there was one at all.

depends what time of year it is though. in summer you can see it most of the time, in winter though....
