  • this is my dads band vincent gedeon hes guitarist

  • this is my dads band vincent gedeon

  • This is the first time I listen to The Chartbusters but certainly not the last.

It would be interesting to know how long they were active as a band and as musicians. A tip: Listen to the band THE ZETTLERS and their recordings of "Skinnie Minnie" and "Beautiful Delilah". They charted the Swedish hot 10 in the mid 60s. It's incredibly inspiring to discover the musical "goodies" that have existed.

  • Heard this for the first time today on the Ted Alexander "10,000 Oldies Show."Growing up in Southern California, I never heard this. Maybe it didn't make it to the West Coast? Damn fine tune that keeps ya movin'.

  • @rockola63, I was raised in the Frisco area and never heard this song in 1964 even though I listed to the Top 40's stations KEWB, KYA etc. When I was stationed near New York City in 1966, I heard this song quite often on the popular Rock station out of NYC (don't recall call sign). I actually thought for many years that this song was released in 1966. Apparently it never was popular on the Left Coast back in the Sixties.

  • @RedHazard1965 yea my dad is the guitar player !! no bs

  • Great job again Lime, do you have Why by the Chartbusters, gonna check your lists

  • @63457899oldies No, this is the only record I have by the Chartbusters. Thanks for the compliments though!

  • Xcellent!!! I remember this from about that time frame ('64 -'65). I was in 6th - 7th grade. Beatlemania in full swing, life was good!

    Thanks for putting this up!!!

  • Very 1964! Love the Beatles influence at 0:51!

    whoooooaaaaahhhhh!

  • @PatrickMcBride65

same rythem and changes as "i saw her standing there".

    but i didn't care....it rocks!!

  • One of my favorite groups of all time. I saw them in Montgomery, Alabama in 1964. They did three songs - She's The One, Why, & the cover "I Should Have Known Better" by the Beatles. You just don't forget great times like those.

  • Great song, but my favorite is why won't ya be my girl...Does anyone remember the song and is there a video???

  • this is to good to hear

  • Vernon Sandusky Was inducted into the Kansas Music Hall of Fame this Saturday. He's also my grandfather...I never knew he was this famous.

  • I was delighted to find this song here. If I hadn't I was going to post it on my channel (of songs that never got the recognition they deserved). Keep up the good work...

  • Thank you!

  • I just recieved this YouTube link from my cousin Johnny Dubas the Chart Busters' bass player (third guy from the left. In the mid 70's Johnny (Guitar) Dubas from Jessup PA played the old Hotel Erie in Elmhurst, PA. He got me interested in the guitar. Great music, I was two yeras old when She's the One was released.

  • Does you cousin Johnny still play anymore?...Please tell him that The Chartbusters are one of my 2 top favorite 60's bands.- I've got every Chartbusters single, as well as the records that Johnny & Vernon Sandusky (fellow Chartbuster) recorded under the names, Johnny & Vernon, The Manchesters, and The Weatherly Brothers. Any chance that he would talk to me?..I'm their biggest fan!

  • I forwarded your comments to his private e-mail account. I think he'll post a comment on your request. John's a great guy, with a great since of humor! John is also a private person. I wish Tom Petty would invite John and some other 60's members to play a song about that era. I'm a huge Petty fan. I was in Jr. High when I first heard his band. "And we smoked cigarettes and we stared at the moon." John got me into the guitar and Tom made me realize we're all the same.

  • Great find. Tom Petty just played it this week on his Buried Treasure radio show.

Gotta love that double modulation of key!

  • I was crazy about this song in 1964 WHEN I WAS 7!!! Wow, I don't think I've heard it since 64, but I remember it well. Sounds really great here. Thanks!

  • One of the greatest songs of the 60's that should have been much more popular than it was - heard it on WLS growing up in Chicago :)

  • Fun song...takes me back to then...in '64 I was in 6th grade..

  • Vernon went on to play for Roy Clark

  • I hear "I Saw Her Standing There"... there's no way they weren't influenced by it.

  • Great rocker...love the guitar solo...One More Time indeed...

  • Great rocker!!! Bring back memories of the summer of 1964. Good times!!!

  • I have some of their 45's, but I never saw their photo before. Great find!

  • Thank you!

  • i loved this song...had the 45..

same sound as the beatles...when i saw her standing there.....

my high school rock band played it....

    good times..

    thanks for the post!
