I'm old enough2remember when the Thunderbirds tried to meet at the runway, stacked on top of each other after doing the bomb burst. You have 4 F-4s heading 4 middle of runway from 4 different directions & if timed right, they'd be stacked on top of each other when they met. They've since changed that [for safety] so that they stagger. It was really cool 2c 4 F-4 Phantoms practically on top of each other. Just looked that way, but still !!

@JoCLy52 Heh funny but actually no, his momentum would keep him going even if his engines flame out. Further, this is not a turbofan as used in commercial planes, its a turbojet with no bypass. The reason big planes have trouble with bird strikes is because the bypass fan in the front gets damaged by birds, causing 1. an unbalanced shaft and 2. loss of most forward thrust. In a turbojet there is no bypass fan so if the bird goes inside the turbine, it comes out as mince and does little damage.

@stixie211 Pretty much yes. The compression blades inside their turbojet engines are much shorter, thicker and generally more massive than what you see in the front of a commercial plane's engine (turbofan), if a bird hits those they break because they're fragile.
